how would you suggest this quilt be washed?

The product is amazing but washing it very carefully would be suggested. Myself I’d put it in my gentle cycle , cold water and woolite for soap then hang dry it very low heat on dryer

Are the threads tight or fairly loose? I have a cat and need to know if his nails could snag the threads if they are loose (???)

Mine seems tight and close stitching but I would imagine if your cat claws at it, it'll snag. My pup likes to dig around before he settles down and hasn't damaged it.
