S'well Ice Bucket with Tongs, 68 oz, Angel Food

Good,works, but smaller than expected

I tested this ice bucket by filling it with ice and monitoring it. Presently I am going on 48 hours and of course a lot of the ice has melted but there is still a lot of the ice in the bucket. What I noticed in this test was it does start to melt from the top because the top isn’t insulated and there is the tong hole. ( and I was opening it and checking on it). Anyway, as the ice melts, it kind of gets stuck together and you have to break it up with the tongs. Realistically you are probably not going to leave the ice bucket for days on end. This is definitely a high end ice bucket that functions exceptionally well and would be great outside on a hot day or inside on your buffet table. It does not condensate and make a mess on your table. The ice bucket has a nice clean substantial look to it; the thick insulated walls are impressive and I like the shiny white exterior. I also like the tongs and the tong slot. The size of the bucket is perfect because it is not overly huge and does not take up a lot of table space. It potentially could be used for other things besides ice, like homemade ice cream or sorbet. S’well makes exceptional products that I have used before and this ice bucket lives up to their reputation and I would definitely purchase this again. At the current price point I would say this is a good value if you are in need of an attractive, well functioning ice bucket.

We had a patio poured last year and have started using it this year so I picked this ice bucket up to cut down on trips inside. It came packaged just fine with no defects or dings that I could see. Getting it out you get the bucket, tongs, and a lid. I gave it a quick hand wash then loaded it up with ice. It works pretty well for 4 people, but more than that would be stretching its holding capacity. It lets us enjoy the porch more with a nice cold drink and lets us not have to duck inside to get more ice when needed.

This ice bucket is very nice looking with a solid white exterior, shiny Stainless Steel interior, lid and tongs. I like how the lid has a cutout for the tongs to sit in. The only drawback is that it’s a small size ice bucket (think the mini hotel room size), so as long as you are aware of that and it suits your needs I would definitely recommend it. Planning to use it to put some fancy round ice cubes in for an upcoming party and it should work well for that purpose. You might be able to just barely fit one wine bottle in it with some small sized ice cubes. Quality of the product is decent, with good insulation to keep ice from melting too quickly.

UPDATE 6/25/2024: 10 STARS!! What a champion this item was during a recent heat wave with a house full of company! It was an integral part of a winning combination (paired with a countertop ice maker) to keep everyone cool and provide a non-stop supply of ice cubes. Held ice overnight even after the house cleared out. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: This ice bucket does its task VERY well--and looks GREAT, too! I put 1 dozen ice cubes in it overnight, and in the morning there was minimal melting. Very impressive! The triple layer of insulation is truly amazing, and makes all the difference! (I immediately dug out my old plastic-lined ice bucket to donate). --I like the size--it is perfect for a small gathering. (It would be nice if the S'well could make a larger size, too since other reviewers commented that it was too small.) --Nice tongs that set in the lid/container and are always available and sanitary. I hope to use this soon to hold mini ice cubes made from a countertop ice maker. I will update this review if necessary.
