God of Malice (Standard Edition): A Dark College Anti-Hero Romance (Legacy of Gods, 1)

I almost put this book down after the first few chapters because of how intense and shocking it started. It's been a while since I picked up a dark romance, and I honestly wasn't sure if I was ready for it. I'm so glad I kept going because I ended up enjoying this book so much more than I expected. Glyndon was such a great character. I loved her strength, even with everything she went through, and I found myself rooting for her from beginning to end. And then there's Killian... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I ended up loving his character too. He's absolutely insane, manipulative, and morally gray in every possible way, but he's also incredibly intelligent. The way he plans everything and stays ten steps ahead of everyone else had me constantly questioning what was real. There were so many moments where he manipulated a situation so well that I didn't even realize it until afterward. As dark and obsessive as their relationship is, I couldn't stop reading. Their chemistry was intense, and somehow Rina Kent made me invested in two characters who should probably scare me more than they did. One of the hardest parts of the book was everything surrounding Devlin. I genuinely didn't expect those events, and they hit harder than I thought they would. It added another emotional layer to a story that was already packed with tension. Now I'm really hoping that in the future books we get to see Landon eventually find some peace with his family. After everything that's happened, I'd love to see those relationships grow and heal because I think there's still so much story left to tell. Overall, God of Malice completely surprised me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, reminded me why dark romance is such a unique genre, and left me excited to continue the Legacy of Gods series. If you enjoy obsessive, psychologically twisted romances with complex characters, this one is definitely worth the ride—but be sure to check the trigger warnings first.

Rina Kent has me questioning my entire moral compass and I'm not even mad about it?!?! So like, can we talk about how Rina Kent is the ACTUAL QUEEN of dark romance?? 👑 I'm fully at her altar worshipping rn because WHEW the way she makes you question everything you thought you knew about consent and possessiveness is *chef's kiss* MASTERFUL. Kill and Glyn are such complex characters I can't even!!! 🤯 Poor Glyn being the overlooked sibling her whole life but PLOT TWIST - she's been suppressing her true dark nature all along?! And Kill... this man SEES people in a way that's both terrifying and weirdly hot?? He's the first person to actually SEE Glyn and I was like "this is toxic but why am I rooting for them?!" #SendHelp The psychological nuances in this book had me SCREAMING into my pillow at 2am! The way Killian's obsession transforms from something super problematic to this twisted form of devotion?? That quote: "If you want love, then I do love you, but it's the unorthodox version of love. I decided to dive into this kindle unlimited series that has been living on my tbr for a while. This is the first book in the series and it’s about this psychopath (morally gray but also just a serial killer in the making) guy who is in college and happens across the FMC one night. Their meeting is intense and traumatic and erotic and is questionable in terms of consent. And basically that’s how the whole book is with the addition of like mafia men in the making, secret societies, turf wars, friendships and family dynamics. There is a lot to unpack in this book and there are several characters of intrigue. There is a lot of “dark” spice - not SA but like rough? Idk maybe check the triggers and don’t start here if it’s your first dark romantic. That being said, I didn’t hate it and will continue with the series. I will note there are like 3 other books not in the series that are the parents of some of the characters so kind of wish I read those first; and there is a guy on guy book about one of the brothers that isn’t included in the series… but I’m already invested in the series so not going to stop to read those first and tbd if I’ll read those 4 after (the book has 6 in the series but other 4 mentioned are related to the series via characters) . Sooo overall I think it was an ok book, didn’t love and didn’t hate but am curious about the other characters so go on I shall! Did I question my morals while reading this book? Absolutely. Did I find comfort in knowing that this is the kind of dynamic I only tolerate in books and not in reality? Also yes. I’ve been on the fence about picking up a Rina Kent book for a while. I wasn’t sure if her style would be for me or if I’d even finish one of her books. With that being said, I’m upset with myself for waiting so long. This book was deeply intriguing and made me question myself, especially as someone new to this genre. Let’s start with Glyn. Her character is simple and naive, but there’s a quiet, dark undertone to her. At the beginning, she’s at one of the lowest points in her life. As the story progresses, we get glimpses into how she views herself as a person, a daughter, a sister, and a friend, while also uncovering what led her to the book’s opening events. Glyn starts off as the kind of person who avoids making waves, suffers in silence, and doesn’t want to be a bother. But as the book unfolds, she grows more outspoken and confident. Overall, I liked her character, but I loved the person Killian helped her become by the end. Now, about her “friend.” For much of the book, we’re led to believe that this friend, who "voluntarily" left the earth, had been in her life for a bit. But toward the end, we find out she only knew him for two months and assumed she knew him better than anyone else. Spoiler: she didn’t. I interpreted this two ways: either she was so desperate for connection that she clung to his words, or she was gullible and naive enough to believe he saw her for who she truly was. When the truth came out about what he said and did, I was baffled as to why she grieved him so deeply. Now, the main event: Killian. He’s every red flag in a man personified, yet Rina made me fall for him. He was different. He was angry, possessive, tyrannical, and an unstoppable force of nature. But then, he became a man with feelings—feelings he didn’t know how to handle. I loved watching him struggle with his emotions for Glyn. He wanted to understand her so he could be done with her, but instead, she became his muse and his safe space. Glyn, in turn, understood him in a way no one else could. She saw through his anger at his brother, even when he denied caring, and she gave him the grace he didn’t know he needed. Killian remained true to himself from start to finish—raw, intense, and unapologetically himself. The only real change was Glyn. She calmed his inner beast, made him tolerable to those around him, and became his balance. He is her monster, and she is his calm. That balance between them was one of the highlights of the book for me. I appreciated how they complemented each other so naturally. I did have some minor issues, though. There were small gaps in the narrative, and the ending felt rushed. The story picked up toward the end, and then suddenly, it was over. I really hope there’s a novella about Killian and Glyn in the future—I’d love to see what Killian would be like as a father!

Although I technically started Rina Kent’s books out of order I still think this was a good place to start. I loved Killian and Glyn’s point of views..especially Killian’s. Him not being able to process emotions normally or at all really made him one of my favorite characters. The plot twist towards the end threw me for a loop and kept me guessing. Can’t wait for Nikolai’s book but am definitely looking forward to book 2 next!

I absolutely loved this book. 5 out of 5 loved it! This is the first book I've read of Rina Kent's and I'm blown away...it was extremely intense right from the gate. Not a slow burn in sight. There's just something about being the person that calms someone's demons and Kill and Glyn embody that perfectly. That being said READ THE TRIGGERS!! That first intense spicy scene could mess with people's peace of mind. Know your limit. However if you're able to continue past the triggers I highly recommend giving God of Malice a read, you're in for an emotionally destructive, yet freeing read.

This book wasn’t bad. I liked the storyline and the characters, but it took me about 200 pages to get really interested in the book. I don’t know if my rating would change if I was coming off a huge book slump, but to me this book was just mid. It got better at the end but at that point I just wanted the book to be over with.

Io non so nemmeno da dove iniziare. Non ne ho la più pallida idea. E' il primo libro che leggo di questa autrice e dire che ci sono rimasta sotto ad un treno sarebbe un eufemismo. Ho amato questo libro dall'inizio alla fine. Ha catturato e monopolizzato la mia attenzione, senza lasciare andare fino alla fine. Ed ancora oggi ci penso. Killian e Glaydon mi hanno stregata. Ma il problema più grande? Tutti i diavolo di protagonisti maschili mi hanno catturato e vorrei avere tutti i loro libri qui ed adesso. Come aspetto Eli al 2024? Come? Non lo so. Killian mi ha fatto partire di testa. Ed é un problema perché un fott*tissim psicopatico. Letteralmente. Ha un'ossessione per il sangue. Per aprire le persone, vedere loro internamente. Ciò spiega perché ha scelto medicina. Ma é anche estremamente intelligente. Ed ha un forte controllo, autocontrollo che lo porta a saper gestire i suoi impulsi. Non percepisce e gestisce le emozioni come gli essere umani. Non le avverte se non quelle dalla rabbia e del possesso. Ogni suo comportamento, espressione é frutto dell'osservazione degli altri. Osserva e imita così da potersi inserire socialmente. E tranquillizzare sua madre. Ma è anche un ragazzo, che fin da bambino ha percepito la paura di sua madre verso di lui, verso quello che era ed il disgusto e rifiuto di suo padre. Glaydon é un artista. Una ragazza con un complesso di inferiorità. Sua mamma é un'artista, bravissima e lei si sente minore rispetto alla grandezza della mamma. Questo la porta ad essere remissiva, silenziosa, sottomessa. Solo Killian fa uscire fuori la sua vena testarda, cocciuta, che fa sentire la sua voce. Con lui esce finalmente fuori LA VERA LEI. Killian é ossessionato da quella ragazza che ha incontrato per la prima volta su un precipizio. Non capisce bene il perché: sembra così fragile, eppure oscura come lui. Nasconde un'oscurità che ha paura di far venire fuori, si vergogna. Possessivo, fuori di testa Killian é deciso ad averla. Che sarà con la forza, con i ricatti, con l'odio lui la otterrà. La vuole e nulla lo fermerà.

I loved it, it’s been a while since I read a book this fast but I loved the characters. Would definitely read the others

I originally started reading this on Kindle Unlimited and immediately bought the physical copy. I never thought I'd enjoy a college romance novel, but here we are. The beginning of this book is a wild ride, so make sure you check the TW's, it's not for everyone. But I DEVOURED this book.

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. And you know what? It's even better. This is my first Rina Kent book, but I already know it won't be my last. The author builds the story and tension brilliantly. The chemistry between the characters is sparkling. The plot twists. Those famous first two chapters... The author seemed to want to start with a full bang, and she succeeded. It was amazing; I was completely drawn into the plot. Killian is a complete charmer and Glyn is so strong. Except, Killian is a total monster. Not that he wants to be one. Not his fault. Totally love these two! 💙 LOVE the book!
