Review: LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! - LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! As someone who finds sneakers incrediably uncomfortable (no matter the brand or type) these are by far the most comfortable shoes I've tried. Now I am someone who spends most of my time barefoot in yoga or in flip flops anyways, so I was looking for something I could run/work out in with very little "traditional" sneaker feel as I have never found a truely comfortable one until these. They are super light, totally breathable, and very multi - fuctional in terms of terrain, use, water, etc. The grip is incrediable for hiking & trails, though a little less so on my gym's wood floors.... but not enough so that it's a problem. I've evan started to wear them on a more everyday basis they are so comfertable. They do run a bit wider in the toe box than a traditional shoe, but this works perfect for me and isn't that the point of Barefoot shoes? I am now a Vivobarefoot convert.... Review: Stylish and comfortable but sizing is very inconsistent - This is a nice, light shoe and I love this brand in general. I will note, however, that sizing is very inconsistent with this brand. I wear a 10 in US Women's sizes which should translate into a 41 EU, but in this shoe I had to send back the 41 which was too small and get a 42 which I did keep but they do seem to be a half size large. Conversely I also own the EVO II which I wear a 41 in, which fit perfectly, as well as the EVO Lite which I also had to send back for a 42 after originally ordering a 41, and they also are about 1/2 size large. The shoe is very stylish and comfortable and gives all the benefits of a minimalist/barefoot shoe, such as proper foot mechanics, proprioception, etc. I work on my feet all day and absolutely LOVE these shoes to work in.

Stylish and comfortable but sizing is very inconsistent

Very comfortable trail shoes
I had such a hard time figuring out the shoe size, they don't make it easy. I used my own experience with euro sizes and then looked at a few reviews. I ordered a size 38, which they indicated would be an 8.5. Since I'm a 7.5, I was a little worried. When the shoes arrived, I pulled them on and they were not a size too big, thank goodness. I'm not sure if they don't do half sizes or what, but my toes have the tiniest bit of room with socks, so when the socks are off, they're perfect. I've always used hiking boots for walking trails. After trail freaks, I'll never go back, so lightweight, great grip, easy to climb over things, under things and across the top of things.

A good substitute for neo trail
It's been harder to get the neo trail shoes so I tried these. They are also wider in the toe box though slightly narrower than the neo trails. The material also seemed a bit stiffer at first but after a few wears they broke in well and fit snug and perfectly now.The grips on the shoes work great for the road and trails that aren't too steep or loose. I have slipped more on steeps trails. They look great too.

Needs some breaking in
Fits like other vivobarefoot shoes I've owned. Only caveat, that's been previously mentioned in other reviews too, is that these shoes are not instantly comfortable like all the others I've had- these are stiff as a board initially and require a break in period because the synthetic waterproof parts of the shoe don't bend like a breathable mesh. But now that I've worn them on a hike, run 5 miles, and walked a day in them, they are perfect.

Great trail hiking shoes
These are terrific trail shoes. I do not run, but use them for hiking on fire trails and single track trail hikes. Just the right amount of thin sole to protect your feet, but still allow you to feel the ground underneath. They are very flexible, but stiffer than other "street" Vivos. Fit is perfect, with plenty of room in the toe box. The light color is not actually too bad for keeping clean - I just vacuum them after a hike and run a damp cloth along the white edge. The turquoise color is fun. Can't beat the price on this "last season" color compared to this season colors, which cost 3 times more!

Seem like nice shoes but I ordered the exact same size ...
Seem like nice shoes but I ordered the exact same size of my other Vivo Barefoots that are the Evo's and while those fit these are way too big. I gave them to my step daughter who wears a US 7 1/2-8 and they fit her fine. I wear a 6 1/2. Normally I'd assume I did the conversion wrong from EUR but they are 37's which are exactly what my other two vivobarefoot Evo's are.

Growing on me
Okay: I am new to minimalist running shoes, but I am barefoot most of the time and the "transition" for me was non-existent. However, I was not expecting the fit of these. I have a pair of Merrell Bare Access Ultra and the Bare Access Trail and those are much more structured. This is more like a slipper. It's like wearing a non-breathable sock with grippy bottoms. It is suggested (inside the box top) to remove the insole if you have one and I did the first time I took these out. I didn't like them. So, I tried them with the insole (which the top says is only for insulation against cold weather) and although the fit is tighter, they feel much better on my feet. They are really like a glove... you have to slide your feet in and then fiddle with the toggle a bit to get the pressure right around the areas of your foot you like more or less tightness. it seems to be somewhat ineffectual. I cannot wear these with socks - my toes are at the very top already and they'd be too small with even very thin socks. I don't like that- I like socks for running. I'll find out soon enough if they are destined to stink. After 2 runs, they are still fine. Also, no blisters or uncomfortable seams. They're ugly as heck!! It's fairly comical, so I can pull it off. I almost can't imagine an uglier shoe! It's just not appealing to me at all and they look gigantic on my foot. Edited to add: I wear a 41 EU / 10-10.5 shoe. The 10.5 is too small for socks of any type, but I can get them on with not a millimeter to spare. I haven't had a problem with long runs and swelling, but I never have for any shoe. I do 20-30 miles of tough trail/mountain a week on average.

supportive barefoot
Having already transitioned to barefoot with a previous pair of Vivobarefoot shoes I like these shoes. They are a little more protective than my first pair which were incredibly thin and responsive and are better for walking on pavements and road. They have a nicely grippy tread and are easy to get on and off. I don't run in them just walk (between 5 & 10km at a time) and they have been good for that.

Vivo Barefoot Trail Freak
These are the most comfortable 'barefoot' trail shoes I've found. Grip on even the worst terrain is good, they've never rubbed, there's enough sole thickness to protect your feet on rough, rocky ground and they last quite well compared to other brands I've tried. Now on my second pair and they're top of my list to buy when I need to replace my running shoes again.

Smart shoe.
A light looking, and light weight shoe - just what I wanted. A little tight at the instep, but hopefully that will loosen in time.
