10/10 read this if you are debating.
I don't normally write reviews, but I assume since this is my second one I'm buying that I should finally write a review, so here it goes.I have tried three different brands of baby monitors including this one. I got the baby sense for the first time over 3 years ago after the first brand had issues after 6months and I didn't really like it anyways. The parent unit finally died on the babysense after 3y of abuse. I was not pacient enough to do another order so I ran down to a big box store and bought a comparable $$ VTech two baby camera kit. Not thinking much of it that it's going to do the job and the convenience of getting it now was worth it. Oh boy was I wrong and mad. Not only did it force me to connect to Wi-Fi even though it said it worked direct connect but it didn't recommend actually staying on direct connect. I switched it over to Wi-Fi and the quality was just awful, everything about it was awful at the same price point. Plus I don't like baby monitors forcing to be on Wi-Fi or being smart because after working in tech for over a decade they're not safe. I don't want video surveillance of my children going through the internet being on the cloud being in a company's data PERIOD.So ended up buying another baby sense pro with two cameras. Got it delivered in 2 days out of the box worked great. Super easy to pair. The other two cameras that I had from the last one paired up to the new parent unit so quick and easy. So now I have four cameras versus two and I couldn't be happier and I'm not going to get or try another brand again. So this is me telling anybody that is waffling between what to get for a baby monitor.Get this one - Great video quality. Great sound reaction. Great distance. The cameras work well. Move well. Easy to pair. Clearly easy to expand and get new hardware if you need to. AND it's a closed system no Wi-Fi or app needed so it is SAFE.10/10 recommend.

Easy and Awesome
The cameras and monitor work great, easy set up, good connection range, split screen is awesome, clear picture, and night vision works great. We are deep sleepers and the monitor is loud enough that it wakes us up if baby is fussing. Would recommend.

Best in It's Price Class
This is an EXCELLENT baby monitor. I've used two others, the Goodbaby and the Kidsneed. The Kidsneed, which is out of prodution, was decent, with a very good screen of 3.5 inchess. But it lost connection repeatedly, several times a day. It regained connection quickly, but so what. I also bought a second Kidsneed and the two cameras interfered with each other, making them drop connection to the monitors. I placed an aluminm shield between them that helped, but they still lost contact. The Goodbaby screen sucked. Washed out in either day or night and very narrow vertical viewing angle. Not really usable. The Prisma is excellent straight out of the box, with no interference bweteen cameras. I say this because several reviewers and others of other units have asked if you can pair one camera with two monitors And no you can't, for valid security reasons. But you can buy two baby monitor setups and get the same effect. With the Prisma you CAN have two monitors in different locations monitoring essentially the same view, with the cameras essentially next to each other. So I'm able to keep an eye on my wife who's disabled if she's in bed in our bedroom and I'm monitoring from our study or from our small bathroom. That's a big deal because it means if she calls for me to help her I can hear her in either location through the separate monitors. For many people this probably it isn't an issue. But for people like us it's a gamechager. The Prmisa image is excellent. Far better than many others and as good as the Kidsneed but much larger. Great saturation and contrast, including at night. Also, it's a wide angle lens , which you can narrow if you need to. Much better than the standard Kidsneed or Goodbaby perspectives. All in all a superior baby monitor.

Strongly competes with more expensive brands
Bought this and two other monitors to compare and keep the best, return the rest. The other two monitors I bought were Infant Optics ($165) and DBPOWER (original price $135, but I got it on sale for $85).I compared the monitors on a few main characteristics:1. Digital screen clarity (night and day)2. Audio (both to and from the camera)3. Distance connection1. Digital screen clarity - the quality of babysense's screen was very closely comparable to the other two monitors. The only thing that I didn't like was that the viewing angle was pretty narrow compared to the other two.2. Audio - babysense owned the other two in this arena. Two-way audio was impeccable and crystal clear. DBPOWER had great audio from the camera to the handset, but when talking back to the camera, the audio was pretty choppy and shaky. And InfantOptics had the worst audio by FAR. The audio from the camera to the handset was grainy and quiet. Not only that, the return audio from the handset to the camera gurgled a couple sounds but completely fell silent forever.3. Distance connection - once again, babysense surpassed the other two monitors here. With the other two monitors, I couldn't walk more than 10yds before the connection went bad and the handset blacked out. Forget about walking to a different floor of the house... For babysense, I could freely walk around without sacrificing the connection quality of both visual and audio aspects. All in all, InfantOptics was a HUGE disappointment, especially for being more than double the price of babysense. The only thing it offered was that it had ptz remote control (although there was lag time) and the camera angle was wider. I ended up sticking with DBPOWER only because of the good ptz controls, the wider camera lens, and the fact that I got it on such a good deal.

Durable monitor
We love this monitor. It’s compact, durable, great picture quality for the price and the fact that it’s not WiFi and has a great picture battery life and ease of use with no need for added apps or anything is a major plus for us. We live in the country, our mailbox is quite the walk down our driveway and the monitor works great, cuts out a little bit behind our coops or in the aviary and that’s a little less distance than our mailbox but the mailbox is only one wall and the coops put 6 walls between where our toddler sleeps on the opposite side of our house, about 90ft working with all the walls is pretty impressive to us. It’ll cut out here and there gathering eggs but I can still catch glimpses until I move back into range, the drive is well over a hundred feet and I bet I could keep going and cross the highway if needed. This is actually our second time buying this exact model because we broke the last one after 20 months but that’s definitely not on the manufacturer, my hands don’t always work the way I want them to so I’m always dropping smaller objects and I’m not the best at making sure our toddler doesn’t get ahold of it, he loves switching the cameras and turning on the music, the 2nd from last loop option with different songs is our favorite and what we use for his quite time before he actually sleeps but is in bed and you can turn on different music for different cameras. The battery life is also really nice. The first 13-15 months I left it on and would watch him sleep because of my own anxieties when it comes to sleeping babies and it would keep going about 4-5hrs before I plugged it in so I wouldn’t risk it shutting down, while I slept, we didn’t use the sound options back then so that might lower the battery life, I’m unsure. Eco mode is what I use now that they’re older and I’m way less paranoid about how they sleep and I’ve only ever had it on for maybe 7hrs before plugging in to be safe but it still has quite the charge left. I’ve fallen asleep on the couch several times and when the battery gets low it beeps and wakes me up but I forget how long it was but it was definitely early morning hours by the time that happened. We plug it in every time they’re awake, it’s kinda our thing, the baby thinks they’ve gotta do it themselves, just like when they get my phone, they go straight to plug it in because mom does that so often, dad’s not so lucky with his phone or the monitor when he gets the baby from bed, it’s automatically play time with either device. LolWe’ve put the first one through the wringer though, battery back just broke 19m in and has been taped for a month and then our toddler had a bit of a tantrum last week and threw it across the floor on hardwood and must’ve dislodged the antenna because we lost a lot of range and the sound was static-y at that point too. It was still doing the job but a bit annoying so I ordered another one and this time I bought an extended warranty that covers this type damage through Amazon. It comes with 18m but not sure what that entails but I did register it. I got the one with one camera because I already had 2 cameras and was planning to order a 3rd one soon anyway because they don’t cover a lot of the room, they can be hung in ways to cover more space but in smaller spaces, like a little nursery, I need multiples up. One for bed only and one for the other side of the room and now one for the door since they can’t be in a crib or P&P any more because of climbing out. I still like one for bed only and a little closer so I can use the zoom to watch breaths or subtle movements, because that’s just how I am, so the other two are for when they’re moving around and I’m not concerned about moving or not. The cameras aren’t perfect, not by a long shot but they do the job and I see what I need to see without messing around with WiFi, which is very important to a lot of people, but we have multiple reasons why we needed non WiFi, we don’t have internet access out here plus we don’t want anyone else watching our baby. The night vision works really well and that’s a huge plus since both of ours have been sensitive sleepers and need darkness to sleep. The price is right and if you have a NB the one camera will work fine for you for awhile then additional cameras, up to 4, but rotating screens not split so can work for multiple rooms with different music, are around $30ish. That still leaves this monitor well below the cost of other good models. If you’re looking for an affordable easy to use monitor with a great range and battery life but don’t need all those unnecessary apps or have to give up a phone or other device just to watch your baby, I highly recommend this monitor. It’s so simple yet has some great features seen in more expensive models. My baby even talks to me and signs over the camera since I made sure they knew I could see them all the time. Not the best picture added here since the blanket is pulled up and all the stuffies they drag in bed for nap time but I can see everything I need to see. I still can’t believe how long it took me/us to break this thing, it kind of reminds me of the old school sound only monitors I used with my teen before video was affordable for everyone, hard to believe something with a screen took so many falls/tumbles/throws/missed pockets etc to finally break it just enough where I wanted a new one but still technically could have kept using it, just leaving it set up in certain areas where connections were still available. It’s not fancy but it’s a nice small box with a very good quality picture for the price point and it definitely takes a beating from my arthritis ridden hands that don’t always grip the way they should and a toddler that’s fully in the stage where they can’t quite communicate effectively but talk all the time and throw tantrums when they’re not getting the point across stage. The sound is the white noise we use but it’s not the camera, it’s a different machine since I’m using mid eco mode and camera sound does turn the screen on but not other white noise from fans and such. My baby will knock or talk when they wake up to turn off eco, because we’ve played with the monitor together to teach the concept, we started doing this early on so they know they can look around and find the little green light and communicate with me at anytime to any camera. I’ve seen complaints about the light on them but they’ve helped us help our baby learn to self soothe from just months old, knowing we were there even when not. I originally did the bundle with the movement detection alarm for Sid’s safety but never did get to try them out since they were out of the risk age by the time they transitioned out of our room and the mattress used wouldn’t work for it.

A Total Lifesaver – Peace of Mind in a Box!
I’ll be honest, the baby monitor market is so crowded and overwhelming, but I am beyond happy with this one! If you’re a fellow "anxious mom" like me, you need this. The picture quality is absolutely incredible. It is so clear that I can actually see my baby’s chest rising and falling as they breathe—which, let’s be real, is the only way I can actually relax and get things done! Whether it’s broad daylight or pitch black in the nursery, the clarity is spot on.The absolute best features for me:The Lullabies: This has been a total game-changer. Being able to play music remotely has saved me so many trips into the room. I can soothe the baby back to sleep from the couch without "breaking the seal" by walking into the nursery.Zero Failure: I’ve been using this for a while now and it has never failed me once. The signal is strong (way better than my old monitor), and it’s so reliable. No Apps/Wifi: I love that this isn’t tied to my phone or a subscription. It’s simple, secure, and works straight out of the box.Remote Pan & Tilt: Being able to rotate the camera 360 degrees remotely is so helpful when you have a little one who likes to wiggle into the corners of the crib. It’s durable, the battery gets me through the day, and for the price, the quality is just unbeatable. If you want a monitor that does the essentials (and more) perfectly, just get this one!

TL;DR - Invest in a better quality monitor!
We got this off of our registry before our baby was born and we didn't use it since we've been cosleeping (he had severe reflux issues). Now that he's 4 mo and his reflux is improving, we started sleep training. We've only been using this for 3 days and it's awful! The view is so narrow, I had to mount it on the wall near the ceiling (as high as it would go from the outlet) and I still can't see the entire crib. The mic seems ok at this distance, but it could still be better. I tried to use the "eco" feature so the monitor wasn't always on, but it's not sensitive enough in my opinion. The temperature feature is completely inaccurate (it says the room is 77-79°F when it's actually 68-70°F; see photo). As for the picture, you can see the baby, but not details. You can only see if his eyes are open if he's looking toward to camera (can't tell from the side view of his head even when zoomed in; see photo) and you certainly can't see whether or not he's breathing (this became very important when, on the third night, he learned to roll from his back to his front but couldn't roll from his front to his back; we didn't want to wake him if it wasn't necessary). The worst part, though, is the cutting out/ connectivity issues. It happens a LOT (see video). The screen will go black and you lose sound. Then it goes white. Then it either comes back or cuts out completely. Shutting off the monitor and turning it back on does seem to reset it, however it happens so often sometimes that this isn't a viable solution. The instructions from the manufacturer say to keep it 3' away from other wifi devices which is unreasonable if you have a phone, computer, etc. nearby (and who doesn't these days?). The manufacturer also says something to the effect of "bring it closer to the camera." Isn't the point of a monitor to be in a different room? I mean, if the path between the monitor and the camera were "unobstructed," I wouldn't need it because I would be able to see and hear my baby myself!I'd return this but we're obviously past the window of opportunity on that. I put this on the registry because it had good reviews and was a decent price but I regret that immensely. For the sake of your baby's health and your sanity PLEASE choose a different monitor!

Issue resolved - excellent customer service
Edit: The customer service team helped me resolve the battery issue and even offered to send me a new one. Excellent customer service - would highly recommend this baby monitor. Especially convenient when you need two monitors. The interface and video quality is far superior to my old baby monitor.I loved this baby monitor at first, but it stopped working after 6 months. I get an alert that says “the battery is in poor condition” and it beeps loudly and is now unusable. There was a recall for this item, and it’s unclear if this issue is related. Haven’t heard back from customer service after submitting this issue on their website.

Perfect Travel Monitor
We purchased this monitor to use while travelling. It hardly takes up any space in your bag, sets up very easily and doesn’t require any internet connection. The monitor has decent battery life and picture quality. The range is good too… I’ve used it in both hotel rooms and large homes with no connectivity issues. Highly recommend.

Solid basics, premium features poorly executed
I am keeping this baby monitor because it is ok, and I don't have the energy to test a bunch of different brands/models. I wanted a video monitor that wasn't connected to Wifi or my phone. This was recommended to me by a friend who was dissatisfied with other monitors she had tried. I was previously using a Wyze Pan Cam. For the price, I expected this monitor to be far superior in every way. Sadly, it is not. It covers the basics but falls short on all of its advertised premium features. See below.Pros:- Nice packaging- Easy set up- Monitor has a large screen with a menu that is easy to navigate.- Good sound detection on camera and loud speaker on monitor.Cons:- Compared with the Wyze camera, the overall picture resolution and night vision are inferior. The zoom function is not very useful as it is grainy with little contrast. I cannot see my baby's chest rise and fall.- Temperature gauge is not accurate when camera is wall-mounted. It is 2-3 degrees C higher than the crib temperature.- Clock gains time (about 15 minutes per week) and has to be reset regularly.- White noise feature is not loud enough with poor sound quality, tinny and scratchy. Still using a dedicated white noise machine.- Battery does not last the whole day, even when only checking the screen for a few seconds here and there. It also takes about 8 hours to fully charge. I have to plug it in overnight. The cable has a box on it (not sure the function of this) which is heavy and awkward.I cannot speak to the following features as I have not used them.- microphone- split-screen (I only have one camera.)- long range (I live in a small apartment.)- customer service (It has been working perfectly for over a month.)Although I admittedly have not done the research, there must be less expensive monitors on the market that have basic functions with comparable quality. This monitor sadly does not meet my expectations for my purposes. Perhaps, if you have different needs, it will be just the ticket for you and your family.
