This little device has been a life-saver for us. I’m not one to write reviews (as I buy too many products on Amazon and can’t keep up with review writing!) however I HAD to write a review for this wonderful product. So this is a genuine review from a long-suffering family… We had 2 little dogs, Barney & Teddy. Teddy is a scared, barky, possessive dog, not polite with other dogs when they came near him, us or Barney (Teddy always barks at dogs when on a lead). When we lost our beautiful Barney unexpectedly in June our 7 year old dog (Teddy) was howling, barking at night (totally distraught like us all) and none of us could get any sleep. We introduced a gorgeous new puppy into our lives to help us all heal, help Teddy through the grief, and he has helped massively but Teddy still barked on and off (when we left him at night and also whilst on the lead). So we made a decision the barking had to be addressed as we didn’t want the puppy to start copying this. We bought this collar and within a day of wearing the collar we noticed a change in Teddy. At first, he was startled, he wasn’t keen and the noise is quite piercing however it did the job without harming him or other dogs. Within 5 days of use he no longer needed it at night and now (3 weeks later) we don’t even need it on a walk! He now walks down a road without persistently barking rudely at other dogs! Just amazing. It’s now lovely to go on dog walks with other people & dogs around. Bliss. So yes, you can teach older dogs new tricks (or in this case more polite manners), it’s been a huge relief to us as we adore Teddy, we just didn’t like the constant barking. We’re experienced dog owners. But anxiety with Teddy was already there when we got him, he’s been a puzzling dog for us. This collar is definitely worth a try if you’re trying to resolve barking. Do use the word NO in line with the beep so it just reinforces what the training is all about. Now all we say to Teddy is NO if he goes too far and starts to bark and it works. Sounds obvious but when dealing with an anxious & possessive dog our normal train methods didn’t really work. The collar hasn’t hurt him, the vibration is a little stronger than a vibrating phone, the noise is loud but works great. It gets more high-pitched if the dog needs a second/third reminder. Very good collar. I haven't used one before but my Pug was becoming unbearable to live with. We had tried everything, he was throwing himself at the TV, barking at any noises like helicopters in the sky, cars going past the house, seagulls flying over, bin men, neighbors in their own garden. It was getting worse and after six years of different training methods and advice it was getting worse and we unsure what to do. He was also barking if I even left the room and being a bully to my well behaved older Chihuahuas. I thought I'd try this collar before resorting to a dog behaviorist. I put it on him Saturday morning after charging in level 2. He was a bit shocked when it buzzed. I haven't used the sound just vibrate mode. Since then I've only had to increase it to level 3. It's only been a few days and I've really noticed a difference. I only use it in the evening so it's only on for a few hours but he's much more relaxed and happy. He's not flinging himself at the TV or being aggressive when I'm preparing his dinner. He is sleeping like a normal dog when the TV is on. It's been an absolute lifesaver and we are all much happier and calm has finally come back into our household. It was a last resort but has worked very quickly. He's an intelligent dog and has realized that barking causes a buzz. But he's more relaxed so it's trained him to stop. Collar was very easy to use and seems a good battery life. I'd definitely recommend and would definitely but again if needed. I'm hoping I won't need to use it in the future but for now for a few hours every night it's really helped and life is much better and he seems happy. He's not scared just calmer and he's also calmer in the day without the collar even on.

Useless. Only activates for deeper barks, will not activate for our spaniel. Does activate for our lab but it is far too small for his neck. Several days now and still no change in barking. Poor product

Stunningly effective. I am astonished at how quickly this worked. Our dog was a barker. She's a New Zealand Huntaway & that's what they are bred to do. But they need training & she was a rescue dog & hadn't been properly trained. She barked constantly - on walks, when we got home, when we went out, at new places, at familiar places. And, no amount of training helped control her manic barking. We hired a 1-to-1 trainer for 12 sessions & even the trainer gave up. So, I decided to try this. I did not believe it would work. I use the vibration setting only, as I don't like the noise. I set it to 5 because she's usually the only dog when she's wearing this. It worked. The first time. I put it on her. She barked. It vibrated. She was surprised & confused. She barked again & it vibrated. The association was made & that was that. She stopped barking. Never before did she stop after only a bark or two. Her barking usually went on for 20+ minutes. Now, if we want her to not bark, we put this on her and she doesn't bark. She doesn't feel the vibrations anymore because she does not bark when wearing this. She's not afraid or anything, it just snapped her out of the manic barking mindset. We've been able to bring her on visits, to dog friendly pubs, on the train, etc. And she doesn't bark. I believe that this has made her quality of life so much better. She's not as stressed and manic because she no longer barks herself into a frenzy. I've recommended this to friends and family. It has been a game changer.

I never leave reviews for anything but I just had to for this. Our dog has barked excessively for about a year or so now and we tried so many different things to get his barking under control. However, he would often have barking episodes for no reason at all or if someone walked past the house. We decided to try this, not having much hope and it is BRILLIANT! We put it on the highest sensitivity setting and the sound and vibrate option. It lets off a beeping sound and vibrates. It does not hurt at all as we have tried it on ourselves. Our dog was scared by the noise and vibration the first time he barked and has not barked since! After wearing it for one night, we have left the collar off him for a few days now and he hasn’t barked at all. He is his usual self, minus the barking. We wish we tried this so much sooner as it’s made us have such a better relationship with our dog and feel happier being at home! I can’t comment on whether it is waterproof etc as we haven’t had to use it out of the house.

This is very effective at preventing the dog from barking in the yard. As soon as my pup sees the collar she no longer wants to go outside, just cowers with her tail down looking abject. The few times she has tried to bark with it on, the bleep and vibration both stopped her barking instantly, she seemed stunned and immediately ran to me to take it off. Now she will not let me put it on her again. The metal prongs are alarming, I would not dare to leave the collar on the dog unattended in case it stabs her in the neck if she fell asleep wearing it, though the whole point was supposed to be to let her go outside without me having to watch her all the time, so in this sense it is not as useful as I had hoped. I do not know whether in the long run it might train her out of reactive barking, but there must be less cruel ways.

Honestly, this has been a godsend. My dog barks at EVERYTHING, when we are cooking, when we are eating, when someone walks past the door, when the wind makes a noise etc. As soon as I put the collar on and set up the settings it wasn't long before he tried to bark and was unpleasantly surprised by the collar vibrating and telling him off! He was not impressed at all, it didn't take him long to realise every time he barked it would do that and he has been very quiet after only 1 week of wearing, he still does the odd bark but mostly he knows not to now. I also like how easy the collar is to fit, set up and monitor with buttons on the back so we can turn it off in periods we don't mind him barking such as playtime. The only reason I have only given 4 stars is because the battery doesn't last as long as the description says, the battery died after only 2.5 weeks of wearing.
