Seems to be a good inexpensive battery
This battery is a bit thinner than the original but tech moves forward every day. Plugged this in, charged it over night. The next day it started up just fine showing full charge. Over the weekend I left the PC in a sleep mode where it would turn right on when opening the lid but not plugged in. Without much use it went three days before going below 85%. If it will perform this well for even a year it will have been worth it. edit Fed 2026 The battery is still holding charge and working well. It has developed an issue where it doesn't show 100% charged, only 99% but have seen no other changes in performance or time off mains. I still consider this a solid purchase.

Good replacement
Battery fits my Dell laptop and fires it right up. Replacement was simple. Not sure how long it will last yet but we shall see.

Falsely rated batterieas, won't hold proper charge and data corruption may happen.
First off the battery does fit the standard form factor of oem and does come with tools to replace it easily. That being said here are the downsides to the battery. 1st battery received charged fully the first round. At around 30% battery remaining the battery drops to 6% then cuts off 1 min later from the dead battery before the pc could fully power off. Second full charge, the computer powers down to 51% then to 5% then off again before it could power down. Replacement battery sent: Replacement battery sent and installed. First charge seems to go better than last and makes it down to around 11% before it seems like the power bleeds out of the battery quicker than normal. Total battery life of charge was 1 HR and 15 minutes of web browsing. Second charge it seems to bleed power and shutoff within 5 min of hitting 21% with total battery life coming in at 1 hour. All subsequent charges seem to be the same. Dell battery management shows the battery is in excellent condition but it is unstable at best and should not be used if this is a work related or mission critical device. Weight of OEM to this battery are noticeably different. OEM is much heavier. Working hour life of battery is overrated. OEM battery I could get 3+ hours of life out of. This one I am lucky with an hour to hour and 15 minutes. 2 Batteries yielded similar results It should also be noted I oem two of the same laptops, and swapped batteries from the other Dell Inspiron 7368 into this laptop. OEM battery performed flawless with 3+ hours of life. Bottom line, specs on battery on way off from actual. Battery could potentially cause data loss as it did for me and not shutting down the computer properly. For $20 more OEM would be a better long term option in my opinion. Battery is simply not dependable and I will probably be returning this.

Self-installers BeWare!
First, I have only used this new battery replacement for one day and it seems to charge and recharge well, holding its charge unplugged for about four hours, good! It appears to be solid and well-constructed. Second, and most important, is if you are not savvy with the right tools in installing this new battery, on some computers you may find it very frustrating and near impossible. This is NO negative reflection on the product, but specifically in my case with a five-year old HP Envy 17t laptop, it was obvious that HP designed it so as to discourage computer owner battery installation. Why would they do that? Look at the back of your laptop and first go online viewing one or more YouTube videos on how to change out your battery. In the case of the Envy 17t there were three tiny, I mean tiny screws with star driver-required heads that had to be removed. There was no reason for these screws at all to secure the computer's backside or guts, if even I missed something, they could have easily been made larger and more easily removed with regular tools. After a lengthy process of removing them it was noted that they had some sort-of "Loctite" sealant on the threads and I suspect were screwed into the unit to a specified torque. Both totally unnecessary! The handy star driver included with the replacement battery would not budge them alone. Removal involved using a small chisel and disfiguring the plastic around each screw head so that I could rotate the screw head by gently hammering the chisel counterclockwise to slowly remove each screw. I had to do the same in reverse to ultimately replace them after installing the new battery. Then there were EIGHT other larger Phillips head screws just to remove the laptop's back, plus an additional one after opening the disk drive! Further attempting to separate the computer's back from the manin body would have been impossible from the froutside (facing the user), but from the backside at the hinges, it separated fairly easily. Once the battery was in view, there were six other screws to be removed to lift out, and then replace the battery with the new one. Really, SIX SCREWS to secure a flat battery that is just going to sit there!!! Conclusion, this whole process was insance and ridiculous for sealing the computer's backing and stabilizing the battery in its compartment. HP engineers would have to know that no one, I mean no one but a few, would have the thought process or tools to install a battery replacement. But I, as a mad scientist, ultimately prevailed! Truly, we have two sattelites that have been "out there" for 50 YEARS and working and this is the best we can do to replace a battery that is surely likely to need replacing in its lifetime?
