what is a realistic detection range on this monocular ?

Human sized? 200 yards, easily. Rabbit sized, 100 yards.

Will it work with (pvs14) J- arm ?

Flir discontinued all adapters and mounts, such a shame! MOD armory selling their adapter $174, ridiculous!

What would be a good thermal for looking for bigfoot?

Even the expensive thermals will not show much detail at anything much more than 100 yards. Sasquatch are not going to get nearly close enough to you to make these viable. Get a small flir TK and a digital night vision monocular with a recorder. Bestguarder is a good one. The flir will help you spot heat signatures and the digital monocular can record a good video or image. This will set you up and only set you back about $800.00. I learned this the hard way $$$$$

Can usb-c battery pack power the breach without a battery inside?

Yes It will work with or without a battery. If battery is installed it will use internal battery power until drained and then usb pack
