Great sander at a reasonable price.
This sander produces an exceptionally smooth finish with no swirl marks. It is comfortable to hold and use and has very little vibration. I set it up with an automatic switch so my vacuum is turned on whenever I start the sander. The dust extraction is very efficient and captures almost all of the dust making the use of a dust mask unnecessary. The unit seems well-built. Since it was just received I cannot review how long it will last, but the motor does not show signs of overheating. A definite recommendation. ***Update 1/8/2024 - It's now been a few months shy of a year since I purchased this sander, which has been used almost daily to do medium and finish sanding on sign blanks prior to staining or painting. The machine has held up well and replaced a Dewalt 5 inch sander. The 6 inch diameter abrasive covers more area and produces a good finish when combined with premium abrasive. When combined with dust extraction it eliminates the need to wear masks. It's very low vibration makes even long duration jobs more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Great tool!
Works great. I use it mostly to sand spackle and does a great job. The cost is great for what it does.

It’s worth the money
I have had good performace with this sander while using a vacuum. The sander will overheat if no vacuum is used. All of the brushless sanders will have over heating issues with out the use of a vacuum. I have found the Phendo has better cooling than my airvantage brushless sander. The Phendo is heavier and larger than my airvantage brushless but is much less affected by heat. This is a major issue for me as I live in Texas and work outside in the heat. This is now my primary sander. The seal between the sander and the backing Velcro pad that holds the sandpaper is not long lived there is a rubber o ring that is greased and the seal lasted about 20 hours before it failed and had to be remove. As it was interfering between the sander body and the backing pad not allowing the pad to rotate freely. As this seal when removed allows air to bypass the airflow through the backing pad and sand paper the sander looses some of its dustless efficiency but it still in near dustless without the seal. I have only had the sander shutdown 2 times when it got too hot but that was running at 6 hours plus and in high heat probably 95 Fahrenheit and with a vacuum that needed the filter bag changed. The air advantage sander is more comfortable in the hand as it is smaller better balanced (not as tall) easer to hold and sand in any angle. But it has issues in that it has vibration issues and made my hand numb after 4 hours of use. And was not as resistant to heat buildup after long use. At 1/2 the price as the air vantage it would be my pick. The only downside side to the Phendo is lack of parts if you have something go wrong. I had a German made 6” rigid sander that was my primary sander for 10 years but you can no longer find a backing pad for this sander. If you have not tried the brushless sanders you don’t know what your missing the speed of stock removal of the brushless sander is amazing with high quality abrasives it can’t be beat. It is also much more pleasant to sand with.

Works great, until it doesn't work at all.
I purchased this sander 5 months ago, but have only recently needed to use it. It worked great for a couple of hours, but then quit completely (will not turn on at all, despite trying multiple trouble free outlets on different circuits). It is/was connected to an effective dust control system. Nonetheless Amazon's website shows this sander as having a 1 year warranty, but provides no contact information for Phendo, the manufacturer. Because there is no reasonable way to obtain support or contact information for Phendo, I WOULD NOT purchase this product.

Reliable, great sander.
I own two, one of which I've owned for a year. I haven't owned any high-priced sanders to compare to, but I love these. They have long rubber power cords, a good sanding pad (which is replaceable anyway) and low center of gravity. I suspect the Mirka sanders (upon which this is based) are very fine sanders, but for me these are just great and at a price I can afford. Have experienced absolutely no issues. I use Rockwell hose and dust attachments to hook up to dust collector. Since purchasing these I haven't used my Porter Cable 1/2 and 1/4 pad sanders, Elu belt sander, or Dewalt 5" random orbital sanders.

Who knew the difference between 5" and 6" would be this big
I needed to prep the bottom of a 38 foot boat for new bottom paint. I had never done a boat this big. My 5" sander wasn't cutting through it nearly fast enough and the dust collection hose wasn't capturing enough paint dust. On a boating forum I found a recommendation for a Mirka 6" sander ($750), and another for the Amazon knockoff of the same sander. Being cheap, I gave the knockoff sander a try. First, I never would have imagined the difference between a 5" sander and a 6" sander would be so big, but it is. Second, I spent three days behind this sander (under this sander). I don't know what the Mirka might do better, but this unit was awesome. The dust collection system hooked up nicely to my vacuum and got the majority of the dust, saving my lungs and the environment. It cut through years of paint layers much faster than my 5" sander. The ergonomics of the paddle and the preset speed was great. The only negative is that the hook and loop faster system would toss the sanding disk if I spent too much time on the edge of the disc instead of holding it flat. Other than that, well worth the price for me.
