My husband is recovering from a stroke and this toilet seat makes going to the bathroom much more comfortable for him. The extra height makes it easier to get up and down, and the padded seat is much more comfortable than the hard toilet seat. The downside of this product is that it prevents the toilet lid from being able to be closed. Also, cleaning the toilet is more difficult with this seat attached. Not impossible…just more difficult. It is hard to clean between the attached seat and the original toilet seat. And not being able to raise the seat all the way makes it more difficult to clean the inside of the bowl. However, that being said, I would still recommend this product for an individual with this type of need.
