Loving it!!! + secret recipe for aftershave
So - I had another, cheaper, epilator that I used for a while. Then it broke and I got another. Then that broke. I can't attest to how long this one will last, but the quality is a ***significant *** step up. The rotating head on this is a game changer. It picks up more hair in each stroke than the cheap one. It is easy to hold. Now, for everyone who gets red bumps or other irritation after shaving, let me change your world. You need to put on aftershave. When I was young, my dad used Aqua Velva after each shave. I loved my dad, and when he would lift me up and hold me, the scent of the aftershave comforted me. I didn't know why he used it back then. I do now!!!! So here's how to make your own totally awesome aftershave, and it works for very sensitive skin which I unfortunately have. You will need: - 16 ounce spray bottle - 8 oz with hazel (sold in every grocery and drug store by the hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol - and you can order it from here too, I get the Amazon basics one, I order several at a time) - 8 oz water (purified if possible) - 1/2 to 1 teaspoon (per your taste) of either olive oil, jojoba oil, or argan oil (or a combo of them) - 1 or 2 droppers full of essential oil/s of your choice: I use lavender, myrrh, and frankincense. All are soothing oils. Myrrh especially is very soothing, and it works for both women and men in terms of scent in my opinion. I personally would not use something too stimulating, like tea tree oil, peppermint, eucalyptus... but in small amounts they are likely to be fine. Choose scents you like so you will use it more. Tea tree does go really well with lavender as far as the scent goes. Put all of this in the 16oz spray bottle. Shake it up. Now, the oil won't stay mixed, so give it a shake before you put it on. If you are covering a large area, like both your legs, shake it up a few times as you go along. This is the best aftershave/toner in the universe! Witch hazel is amazing. If you want, you can leave the oil out, but having it misted on your skin this way, with witch hazel acting as an astringent, really helps your skin stay soft and conditioned. It really, really, helps with red bumps and other epilator issues that harm the skin. I use this all over my body, and on my face, and I even spray it on my hair and scalp. At night if I'm feeling lazy I just spray this on my face, rub it in, and my face is happy, clear, and toned in the morning. If a pimple was stating to appear, it is gone when I wake up. You don't have to wash your face first. I also use it for cuts, scrapes, scratches, bruises, bug bites... it is very soothing and healing for all of us this. There is no reason to buy expensive toner full of chemicals. They have preservatives, and all kinds of gross stuff in them... it bums me out. And my uber sensitive skin doesn't work with store bought toner at all. So I will update if the epilator doesn't turn out as great as it seems, I just got it and it was so much better than the cheap egg-shaped ones, I felt compelled to share this review. If anyone is one the fence, get this. You want quality when you are ripping your hair out of your body. Capisce? All right, I think I've procrastinated enough building a door for my fence in 90 degree heat. Glad I put on the toner first, or my freshly epilated leges would've been a nightmare outside in the hot and humid midwestern summer.

YES
I canโt stand shaving, and going to the salon to wax my legs triggers my social anxiety so my legs get BUSHED. I was very excited to try this epilator. It HURTS. It is seriously like a tiny torture device. I was certain everyone exaggerated and it would be no big deal, I wax, I gave birth... Bro... Minus 1 star for being unreasonably painful. My leg hairs are thick and they were completely grown in. Iโm hoping maintenance is less painful than the initial removal ๐ข UPDATE: This thing is IT! It hurts (a lot less as you go) but this thing works! Trust me, stick with it, pull your skin taught and get those hairs out. My legs are razor smooth without the razor burn. I can mindlessly remove every hair while watching my phone, it is easy, easy. I will never go to a salon for my leg hairs ever again. Adding that star back because it hurts a lot less as you go. Tolerable. UPDATE AGAIN: I am in love. I will never go back to any other hair removal technique, I don't need a different device, this thing is it. I braved epilating my underarms 2 weeks post-wax. It was basically painless. I did my legs again, also basically painless. This device works so well. It grabs short hairs, thin hairs, it does not care, and it exfoliates my skin. Epilating tips include โnot chasing every hairโ but this device gel it every single one of my hairs. Iโm excited for regrowing leg and underarm hair just so I can epilate again. I am still not brave enough to epilate the bikini area, but there is a trimmer attachment included that works great. I wish I had more stars to give!

If I could pay you to try this, I would! Do it!
Iโll try to keep this short but I have so much to say because I want you to try this so bad!! Pain: itโs like having 100 tweezers on one little roller but because it rolls so quickly, in each section of say 50 hairs you only feel a few of the 50 โtweezes.โ Amazing. I used to wax my lower legs by myself and I felt every single hair pull so this is an immense improvement with the same benefits. Around my knees and thighs the pain was worse because I didnโt wax there but with a good technique and a distraction, the pain subsides kind of quickly to make this something I could do passively. Doing my armpits SUCKED though. My armpit hairs grow so thick and Iโve only ever shaved so I did consider crying but I know it couldโve been so much worse. I needed help from bf getting upper armpit area so that I didnt nip any skin, it didnt help but could've been user (man) error (or the bumps and nooks and crannies I have there). He was having too much fun. Technique: I bought lidocaine spray, didnt help. My technique was to have a sort of home base patch of skin that I had thoroughly epilated so that I could go back to home base when the pain was too much. Home base > 1 inch up > home base > 3 inches up etc. Having home base to rest the epilator (as it vibrated and still stimulated my skin) was so helpful. Also, the epilator head has kind of massage rollers on it to, again, stimulate the skin before and after tweezing which is very helpful. Without that or home base, I think I would take too many breaks, my skin would calm down and then it would be like starting from scratch again. Once you start you really just have to go for it and you will not regret it. Battery: I think the battery lasted a good amount of time. Two slow lower leg sessions and two slow armpit sessions. I think like others have said, one full body session per charge. As always with a battery, donโt charge it for more than is recommended. Overcharging hurts all batteries big or small. Grip (?): the grip of the tweezers has great reviews. I agree if prep is done correctly! Even if you are not prepping entirely correctly, grip is good for hairs that are visible if your skin is pulled taut enough. I have not tried the other attachments but super cool to have them. I have not tried epilating my hooha yet. I think Iโll have to wait for my bf again or to try a numbing cream. Super easy to clean and change attachments!

First-time user review
I spent HOURS researching epilators before buying this one, so hopefully this helps another first-time user. For prep, I exfoliated in the shower earlier that day, used baby powder to keep my skin dry, and applied witch hazel afterward. I also bought baby oil because people recommended it, but I didnโt end up using it. I started with my legs, and honestly, they were nowhere near as bad as I expected. Iโd rate the pain about a 6โ7/10. It was more uncomfortable than truly painful. The inside of my legs and around my ankles were the most sensitive, but overall it was very manageable. One thing I learned is to go slow. When I moved too fast, it seemed to miss hairs or break them instead of pulling them out. Iโd also recommend using good lighting because I definitely found myself using my phone flashlight to see the finer hairs. For my first session, Iโd say it removed about 95โ98% of the hair on my legs. I had a few tiny hairs left that I just tweezed, but overall my legs felt 98% smooth. My underarms were definitely a different experience. Iโd rate those an 8โ9/10. If youโve ever waxed your underarms, it felt similar, except instead of one quick pull, itโs continuous. I had to take several breaks, but I got through it. I had a few tiny spots of pinpoint bleeding where the hairs came out, which has also happened to me with waxing, so it didnโt concern me. The results on my underarms were honestly my favorite part. They look much smoother than they do after shaving because I donโt have that dark stubble showing underneath the skin. Overall, Iโm really impressed, especially for my first time using an epilator. Iโm sure future sessions will be easier since Iโll just be maintaining the hair instead of removing everything for the first time. My biggest focus now is preventing ingrown hairs by staying consistent with exfoliating. If youโre on the fence because youโre worried about the pain, I was too, but it was much more manageable than I expected, and Iโd absolutely recommend giving it a try.

Grade B, Not Perfect
I love this Braun epilator for not having to shave daily as I would with a razor, however it does take multiple passes to do an effective job of hair removal. Then repeat several weeks to a month later. It's a quality product but could be improved for better hair pickup. Also it's not effective on coarse hair.

Not as bad as I thought!
Well..... I did it - I used it. It is not as bad as I thought it would be. Did it hurt? yes and no. I had just gotten it - charged it and just want to see how it felt. I was amazed on just having shaved 2 days prior how much hairs it could pull... and how much I suck at shaving my legs with a razor because I must miss a lot. I was able to get some hairs - the feeling is weird - while I would not call it pain-pain, sometimes it felt like it was hot.. sometimes it felt like little shocks. When I kept using it, it seems like your skin gets used to it and it really don't hurt any more. After use I washed my legs with cool-warmish water - not too hot as that hurts more. I then placed palmer's moisturizing cocoa-shea butter oil on my legs and no pain. I had red bumps for a few hours afterwards. I used again 2 days after the 1st time - this time I had a lot more to pull... and it hurt at first - more hair to pull. But it was tolerable and as I said above, you get used to the feeling. I have red bumps and they are hanging around longer than the prior epulation. My daughter tried it on a small batch and she said it felt like getting a tattoo. I would not know how that feels as I have not had one. If you are on the fence about trying it - do it. I am actually excited about using it as I know over time, you get used to it, and the hairs will come in softer and slower. The shaver comes with the epilator head and shaver head. also a brush to clean heads when done. all work well. product is as described.

Effective but causes ingrown hairs
I won't sugar coat it - this thing hurts. But what else would you expect from a modern day torture device: or a rotating head of tweezers? Same same.. I've used it on all unwanted body hairs, if you catch my drift. General consensus: have a few drinks first. I haven't yet found the secret to not getting ingrown hairs - I think my preference is still waxing (I've been a waxer for many years) but this is a nice thing to use in small doses between waxes for any hairs that grew in faster or were missed. But beware: It also causes "strawberry legs" or "chicken skin" and a few other reviews mentioned that as well so I'm not alone. The red dots can last for days and I don't get that with waxing. All in all, not my first choice.

Works dry but not wet (for me!)
Works well and as expected when dry. I have found that it has trouble with dense hairs (underarms) and you need to only use 1/4ish of the epilator head or it will get stuck. I have moderately dense underarm hair and sparse leg hair, but found that it did not work for either section in the shower.

EPILATOR
So much easier to use, particularly due to the light. Does not hurt as much as other epilators I've used. Quick and easy to use. Love it.
