These Govee smart bulbs are fantastic value for money. Setup was really quick through the app and they connected to Alexa instantly without any issues. The colours are bright and vibrant, and there are loads of scene options to choose from which completely change the atmosphere of the room. I was pleasantly surprised by how responsive they are — changing colours and brightness happens almost instantly. The dimming works smoothly and the warm white setting is great for everyday lighting too, not just RGB effects. The app is easy to use and being able to schedule lights or control them with voice commands is incredibly convenient. For the price, the quality is excellent and they feel much more premium than expected. Would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting smart lighting without spending a fortune. 5 stars from me. I’ve tried the cheaper ones and yes these are expensive but honestly Govee are the best

We bought these to replace dimmable Philips LED spots in our bedroom. We wanted to be able to dim the lights, change the colours and control remotely as my wife is severely disabled. They do exactly what we want. They fit within the existing fittings and provide a similar angle of light to the previous ones. They were easy to set up through the app and Alexa found them straight away once the Govee account was linked. The only issue I had was that my daughter had previously set up her Govee LED lights on a separate govee account and that had to be unlinked before I could link all lights to the same Govee account. Each light can be controlled individually but when set up as a group can be controlled together. We need to replace the wall dimmer switch but they work without issue on full power until we get this sorted. The Govee app does have some scenes such as meditation and Christmas which combine lights and sound. I can see the attraction for some, but it's a bit gimmicky for us. The different whites provide good options with the coolest one being very white and bright, showing up all the imperfections on the wall and tiniest cobwebs. :) So far the lights have always reconnected quickly when switched off and on at the light switch and they respond quickly to voice commands via Alexa. We do have a router set up as an access point in the bedroom so this may help with this. Having this control over the lights is liberating for my wife who has often had to rely on others to control the lights especially when she has migraines or is experiencing severe pain. My children now want us to get them the same lights for their bedrooms, if we do we will just need to be a little more imaginative with the names of the lights.

No constant dropouts or “why aren’t you responding?” moments, which is always a win with smart lighting. The app gives you loads of control — colours, brightness, scenes, schedules — and it’s very easy to fall down the rabbit hole of tweaking things far more than necessary. You’ll start with “just a nice warm white” and end up running a full colour theme for the room. I replaced my existing GU10 bulbs with these Govee smart bulbs and they immediately feel like a step up in quality. The build is solid and they don’t feel cheap at all they give the impression they’re made to last. The finish looks good once installed and they sit neatly in most standard GU10 fittings. Colour performance is very good for RGB lighting especially at this price. You get a wide variety of colours and for smart bulbs the saturation is about as good as you can realistically expect. The adjustable white tones are good but it favours cool colours over warm which is expected from RGB lights but it does still have the options from warm and cosy to brighter, cleaner whites depending on the room and time of day. Brightness at 400 lumens is decent for accent or general lighting, though not too overpowering. Energy efficiency is in line with other LED energy-saving bulbs. They’re not exceptional, but still far more efficient than old halogen GU10s, which makes them a worthwhile upgrade if you’re switching from traditional bulbs. Remote control is handled through the Govee app, which is where the main downside comes in. While the app is packed with features and gives you a lot of control, it feels overly complicated for simple setups. You’re required to group lights rather than just connecting and using them straight away, and the process isn’t very intuitive. I didn’t personally struggle too much, but I can easily see average users finding it confusing. The interface itself isn’t particularly pleasant to look at or use either, and the in-app shop feels a bit intrusive. On the positive side, once everything is set up, control is responsive and feature-rich, with more options than most people will ever need. The bulbs also work well with smart assistants like Alexa. One other thing worth noting is how they behave with wall switches. If you turn them off and on at the switch, the bulb briefly flickers before fully powering up. It’s not a major issue, and it doesn’t happen when controlling the lights through the app, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall, these are high-quality, great-looking smart GU10 bulbs with excellent colours and strong features, slightly let down by an overly complex app experience.

Early impressions. Works as all govee products do. Its actually quite bright and has lots of customisation. The product is well packaged. Performs and operates as designed. Feels well built. Easy to connect to phone but matter compatibility is still tricky. Only time can tell how long it lasts but so far up to usual Govee standard.

These bulbs perform perfectly as described and are noteably cheaper than other 'smart bulb' alternatives. We have these installed in external soffits, our summerhouse downlighting, and summerhouse internal lighting. Connectivity is great throughout the entire property, and I have experienced no issues with any of the 16 lights I have fitted. The Govee App makes linking easy, and grouping makes for a seamless ambience.

I purchased 10 bulbs and installed them in my living room, and I’m very satisfied with their performance. The lighting is bright, the brightness level is excellent for my needs, and the colors look beautiful. The Govee app offers a wide range of settings and advanced customization options. It runs smoothly, and I haven’t experienced any issues so far. The app includes many features, lighting effects, and automation options that provide much more flexibility than most smart home apps. I connected the bulbs to Alexa through Matter, and the setup worked well. One important note: if you want to connect them using Matter, you need to turn the power off and back on. After power cycling the bulbs, you should have approximately 15 minutes to add and pair them through Matter. After setting them up with Matter, you may notice a slight delay in responsiveness at first. In my experience, this improved over time, and the bulbs eventually became faster and more responsive. I also recommend restarting your router after adding the bulbs through Matter to ensure the best performance and connection stability. Before getting started, make sure your router supports IPv6 and that your Alexa or Google Home device supports Matter. I also tried adding the bulbs to Apple Home through Matter, but I was unable to complete the setup successfully. For now, I rely entirely on Alexa. While the Alexa app does not offer all the advanced features and customization options available in the Govee app, it provides the essential controls most people need every day, such as turning the lights on and off, changing colors, adjusting brightness, and using voice commands and routines. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. The light quality is excellent, the colors are vibrant, the Govee app is packed with features, and the Matter integration with Alexa works well once everything is properly configured.
