This was my first experience eating a rehydrated meal and WOW - it was way better than expected! We took this camping and ended up taking the advice from some other reviewers by adding a slight bit more water and letting the food sit twice the recommended time. It turned out to be REALLY good - even for two of us who know and love authentic Indian Butter Chicken (granted - you'll always have the best butter chicken at an authentic restaurant, but this was for a camping trip). There was a surprising amount of real chicken (I was informed by my camping family that these meals usually have a LOT less protein), and the texture was true to form for all ingredients (which is great, because we have texture issues with food in our household). This was good enough that we even just made it for dinner on a lazy evening at home. No emergency or camping trip required to enjoy! ALSO - the portion is huge! Two adults ate one bag in one sitting, and we still had about a third of the bag leftover. I'll be making this a regular staple for camping/hiking/backpacking trips as well as for emergency rations to have around in the event of a storm and/or power outage.

This is very tasty. I was surprised with the amount of flavor however it based on the nutritional facts it seems like a heart attack in a bag if you eat this too much. It was a very satisfying meal!

Simple savory curry with rice and chicken. The sauce tastes excellent and very flavorful. The chicken was tender and tasted great. The rice was tender. I definitely will be buying more of this one.

Great item to take hiking. Easy to make and tastes great. I will be buying more for the next hiking trip!

This brand requires less water than others, and if you add more, it’ll be soupy. (Not deducting stars for that, because it was user error.) Otherwise, very tasty and easy to make.

Wow these are expensive. BUT! Worth it? Maybe , maybe not. It is definitely worth a try. The flavors and textures are fantastic for a freeze dried meal, the portion size generous, and it just really made me feel good after eating it. I was satisfied, full of vim and vigor and in a better mood. Ready to get those miles out of the way and set up camp. This meal was a 10/10. I just wish the price point was a bit lower. Can't have everything, I guess.

Sooooo good. This meal is worth every penny. I actually ate the whole thing by myself since it was too good to share. (not sorry) This goes on my "must pack list" for weekend camping. You do have to wait 15 minutes til ready but it hydrates perfectly. The chicken is tender - you'd never know it was freeze dried. Spices perfectly balanced and very buttery. The only down side is thati didn't buy more

Amazing! Easy to carry anywhere. Great product for eating at home, camping, hiking, biking, amusement parks, or even Disney! All you need is hot water. The huge opening makes it very easy to eat from. Tasted very good. Will buy again! I had a question and sent an email to Bighorn, they answered it super fast and went above and beyond! Eager to try the rest of the flavors.
