Guilty Pleasure
Good for a night you just want to sit with a tub of ice-cream and cry over the fact that it's almost certain you'll never meet Mark Ruffalo; Never mind getting the chance to sweep him off his feet and marry that adorable face.

Just Like Heaven
This is a sweet, rather predictable movie with two stars that I like. Without giving too much away, Reese's character (a doctor) is sort of hung between living and death and while there she hangs around Mark Ruffalo (who is the only one who can see her) driving him crazyThere are some howling funny scenes in this movie, one especially when there is a medical emergency and Reese has to tell Mark what to do to save a guy's life. This is the kind of humor that Mark R excels at, with his goofy, boyish charm. Anyway, I recommend it to those who like romantic comedies. If you're a fan of these two talented people then go for it!

Enjoyable Entertainment
I will start by saying this is a chick flick but I have now watched it more than once and still found it entertaining and worth watching repetitively, my husband has not viewed it once.If you are looking for realistic or crime or documentary, don’t bother it is none of those. If, on the other hand, you want a sweet movie starring Reece Witherspoon and one that won’t give you nightmares or keep you awake with dire thoughts of world destruction this movie fits the bill.

NOT TOO CREDIBLE, SOME CHARM, GREAT APARTMENT
If you like Witherspoon and Ruffalo you will probably like this. Though it's a stretch. The screenplay relies heavily on low-expectations in the reality department. 'Touching' someone who is a 'spirit' is an issue throughout and not one that the writer spent much time thinking through. Sometimes the touching works, sometimes not -- one of those times being when the 'spirit' character attempts to reconnect with her own comatose self but somehow can't 'stick'. This lack of 'sticking-ness' pervades the overall credibility of the narrative and interferes with the romance, which otherwise might be affecting. The comedy doesn't work either given the serious pathology at center stage casting its morbid shadow. However, for those into decor and homey vibes, the San Fran apartment with views of the city and Golden Gate , bay window and old world ambience, steals every scene it is in.

One of my favorite romantic comedies
A really good script and great actors make for one of the best romantic comedies ever.Trivia: this movie was based on a book. I tried to read the book. The plot in the book is very, very different and quite inferior to that of the movie. This is one of those rare cases when a movie script is far better than the book. The movie script is - yes - loosely inspired by the original book, but the movie script changes things in ways that make for a far more compelling story, and allows the relationship between the main characters to develop nicely.

One of the best rom-coms I've seen in a while
After watching about four stinkers during my 7-day free trial of HBO, I finally found a winner. Yes, it's silly, like most rom-coms are, the premise is ridiculous, but it's fun and romantic and uplifting. If you just want a good time without thinking too hard, with two stars who have excellent chemistry and are fab actors, this is the movie for you.

Rented it, Watched it, Bought it!
Totally captivating, fun, romantic, sad, touching, funny and definitely worth watching many times. When we rented this movie I had not read anything about it but thought it might be one my wife and I would enjoy. Enjoy it we did to the point that after watching it for the first time, I immediately ordered it from Amazon for our collection of movies we'll want to see again and again.Everything about the movie works and draws the viewer into a story about people for whom it is easy to care. Reese Whitherspoon plays the part of a devoted doctor whose life takes an unexpected turn which causes her to meet a young man named David, played by Mark Ruffalo. Their efforts to sort out their remarkable situation is supported by a completely appropriate supporting cast who turn in beautiful performances. The director, Mark Waters, does an admirable job of pulling the whole thing together into a delightful evening's entertainment. I'm already looking forward to seeing it again!

Great movie
This is a really good feel good movie. I first saw this movie a few years ago and didn't give it the chance I should have because it starred Reese Witherspoon and by this time she had become really difficult to work with in Hollywood, but still I should not have held that against the movie. So I watched it again and gave it the chance that it deserved. And the movie turned out to be really good. Really good feelgood film. Give this movie a try.

nearly every film is just amazing for some people and just awful for others
So let's face it, nearly every film is just amazing for some people and just awful for others, and this is probably no exception. If you want to snuggle up on the sofa and lose yourself in something that makes you laugh, cry, smile and keep believing in romance and a fairy tale happy ending, then this is definitely for you, My other half was completely wrapped up in the story and he is a 6ft 4in gory horror movie loving boy who is obviously a real softie at heart - apparently this has leap frogged in to his top 10 favourites now! OK so I'll own up and say that we are both big Reese Witherspoon fans, so I guess that has made us a bit biased. It's a close run thing between this and Sweet Home Alabama as they are both so great, and I'd be hard pushed to say which one I liked the best. Just Like Heaven also has a really top soundtrack - especially Colors by Amos Lee. Treat yourself - you won't be disappointed.

A Very Special Romcom.
This film has always meant something special to me as back in 2007 when I watched this film on the sky system I lost my wife in a similar way to one of the principle characters. The subject has been handled with delicacy and feeling and a good deal of thought, it's only now that I can watch this film and enjoy it, is one of the best romantic comedies that I have ever seen.

A real feel good movie
I watched this the other night in utter bliss. There's absolutely nothing in it to make you have to think or feel bad about anything. It's just pure romance and laughter as a rom com should be.It tells the story of Elizabeth, a doctor in a very busy hospital, who while on her way home one night is involved in a car crash. The next thing we know is that the loveable David has moved into her apartment and she is walking through tables and is unable to pick things up! David is convinced that he's either hallucinating or that she's a ghost!Enter Jon Heder as a spiritual reader of sorts for a few extra laughs. This is quite simply lovely, sweet and very predictable, but who cares when it leaves you feeling this happy? I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be watching it again and again. I'd recommend this movie if you like rom coms in general but especially if you liked films like Bridgette Jones or Love Actually.

Feelgood and fun
Just Like Heaven is a great movie - full of twists and turns and the characters are fabulous. There are some simply wonderful one-liners in there. The basic plot you can read above in the main Amazon review if you want - I won't spoil it here. As a romantic comedy with a ghost twist, it does a good job and is very entertaining.Reese Witherspoon is great as Elizabeth and turns in a witty and well timed performance, as does her leading man Mark Ruffalo. But the ultimate prize goes to John Heder as the psychic who runs a bookstore who is quite simply very very funny. The whole ensemble piece is tight, pacey and very well done.Get a nice bottle of wine out, kick your shoes off and indulge yourself in a piece of great entertainment that will keep you laughing (when you're not crying) to the very last frame. Enjoy!

Great original concept and saves itself from slush.
Great movie, great and original story and good ending.Film relates to an over worked nurse who has a car accident on the way to meet a blind date. She does not realise that she is technically dead and returns to her apartment only to find Mark Ruffalo who has moved in. He is obvioulsy very shocked especially when she can walk through walls and turns up in fridges. Eventually realising there is something not quite right the two attempt to get her body that is in the hospital back to life before the life support machine is switched off. Some comic brilliance and Reese is great with her nagging and puppy dog eyes.
