This Optiphen Plus Preservative is great for making my DIY lotions and sugar scrubs. I only make small batches at a time, and use them up within a couple of months. This preservative is easy to use, usually at 0.5% of a recipe, and it is easy to incorporate. I'm sure it will work for many recipes, there's enough to make quite a bit, and it makes me feel like my homemade products are safer to use. Recommended!

This is a good preservative as it helps to slightly lower pH, can be used in hot concoctions also.

This was one of the safest preservatives I could find for my caffeine hair serum. It mixed well into my formulation without altering texture or consistency, and being paraben free is great as I am trying to keep it healthy. It does work, as my serum hasn't gone off, I still keep it in the fridge, but it definitely lasts longer.It does only work within specific pH ranges, so checking this is important. The 60ml bottle lasts a while since only a small amount is needed per batch. It’s a good option if you want a reliable preservative for DIY projects, but proper formulation knowledge is key to using it correctly.
