This is for a church. Can the chime be silent? We just want a visual picture when someone presses the doorbell.

On mine when i set the chime as silent it also drops the volume down of the person outside, so low that you will not be able to hear them

Is there any type of motion detection and then notification?

There is no advance motion detection. The system is only active after the door bell button is pushed.

Hello, can the button be used to activate strobe light instead of chime for those who are deaf?

Will the monitor power up without the plug (just wiring) ? I have my house pre-wired for a video camera doorbell but never installed one.

Your situation will not work because your 24v transformer for the existing doorbell is for the outside location. These systems need to just plug in the monitor (viewing screen) and the cat6 wire will bring the power to the doorbell camera. So just having the monitor plugged in provides the doorbell power.
