Yes it will be fine. Make sure you use a loam based soil and it likes ericaceous soil. Ordinary compost wl.not sustain it for long. Every year mulch and feed it and it should thrive

how tall is the plant on arrival

I bought this around this time last year. It was about 20 inches tall. It survived the Scottish winter and is now 34 inches in height.
