I’d written a middling review of Solbio because, like some other users, I’d found that the scent didn’t last more than 48 hours and the toilet then smelled annoyingly bad. But I’ve now amended it. As I liked the environmental credentials of the product, I contacted Solbio directly to explain the problem. They replied quickly saying that I should add 2 litres of fresh water to the toilet cassette with the Solbio dose to ensure it works effectively. (I’d been adding less water with the recommended dose of Solbio, to make the toilet last longer before it needed to be emptied). Their advice works. So, the scent lasts longer and my toilet doesn’t smell bad. A great product if used as recommended.

The product has quite a strong, even pungent, odour when first added to the toilet cassette However, the smell soon starts to reduce after the first couple of flushes dilutes it. It appears to break down the waste just as well as the usual, blue, additive and is often preferred at some sites that like to remain eco-friendly. Another advantage with Solbio is that it can be used in the flush cistern as well. I would recommend Solbio as a viable alternative to the blue and pink additives we've used in the past.

A great product. We use it in our camper van. Never a problem with odour from toilet cassette or gray water tank.

After many smelly months of dealing with our cassette toilet using the usual blue chemical toilet fluid, I had enough of the constant bad smell. The blue chemicals seemed to not properly kill the nasty smells, rather felt like it was perfuming on top of the smell. Leaving you with a smell of loo plus perfume which is really not pleasant. Following some online guides on this product, I went to task on the important step of full cleaning out the cassette toilet and removing every single trace I could of the old blue chemicals from inside the toilet. In my case I achieved this using lots of rinsing out with water, I then used hot water from my kettle and a bit of soap and really got to town with shaking it around until it foamed everywhere. I repeated this step a few times, until there was finally no blue traces in the water. After this, a squirt of solbio in the empty cassete base, has been used for weeks with literally 0 unpleasant smells at all. Even living inside our van on a hot afternoon we couldnt smell anything nasty, only a sort of pine/wood smell from this Solbio. I understand this product works instead of being anti-bacterial like the chemicals, is instead pro-bacterial, encouraging the good bacteria which essentially eat the bad bacterial. In that way its the same a compost pile. you turn your loo into a liquid compost device is a good way to look at it, and in that way its so effective. We dont even empty our loo after coming home from a weekend now, as even after a week sittting, theres no bad smell. winner

Great product, reasonable price with quick delivery

I really wanted to like this natural product. First impressions are good; bag container, easy to use tap, small doses, great smell. However after 24hrs the smell of urine is really strong. We are having to refresh the loo every 24 hrs rather than 48hrs. Used it 5 times so far and will play with the dosage to see if I can improve it's performance. If I can't I'll switch to something different.

Bon produit . Laisse une odeur agréable et désintègre correctement les matières fécales . Pour moi bien que plus chère que le produit bleu traditionel il vos largement la différence de prix a l'utilisation dans une cassette de camping car !

Im Internet endeckt auf der suche nach einen Camping Reiniger oder WC Zusatzmittel. Das Solbio ist sehr gutriechend , endlich ist der unangenehme Geruch verschwunden :-) man geht ins Wc und öffent die Chemietoilette und endlich riecht es nach Pfefferminze , oder Kaugummi sehr angemehm. ob das mit der Mengenangabe so hinkommt liegt wohl an dem Verbraucher. Reinigt man regelmäßig das Wc oder bleibt es auch länger drin ? Hatte erst nur ein kleines Packet bestellt um es zu testen , dann gleich ein 10 liter Karton nachbestellt. und das ganze auch noch biologisch abbaubar also auch zuhause entleeren und nicht zum nächsten öffentlichen Stellplatzmit Entsorgungsstation fahren . Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung !!!

Ich verwende Solbio jetzt seit Jahres. Es ist wirklich ein gutes Produkt. In den kalten Monaten reicht es die vom Hersteller vorgegebene Dosierung zu verwenden, in dem warmen Monaten wie die jetzt sind, braucht es einen Schluck mehr. Habe dieses in einer neuen WC Kassette verwendete. Meine alte WC Kassette ( vorher Chemizeug drin) habe ich es noch nicht getestet, habe sie aber gründlich gereinigt, Solbio in Januar reingetan und ab und zu paar ml nachgekippt, ich denke ich kann nun auch die alte WC Kassete damit betreiben. Werde ich demnächst über paar Tage testen. Hoffe daß es auch funktionieren wird. Kippe es auch in den Grauwassertank und seit dem richt es sehr angenehm und der Dreck lößt sich super auf. Ich kann es wirklich gut empfehlen.
