A lot of people overlook Miss Clairol because it's been around a long time and appears "OLD FASHIONED". Guess what? It leaves beautiful color variations in your hair. It's formula adds enough variety to give you NATURAL looking hair. THAT is why I swear by it and will always come back to it. My mother started using it in the 60's and I use it in my 60's. Perfect every time and saves GOBS of money! It works beautifully! I do my roots in this color and use the highlight kit to add "lights" with the total cost being under $30.00 versus $350.00 at the salon. My friends think I go to the salon and are often shocked when I tell them I do it myself, even though I can afford to go to a salon.

Finally found a hair color that actually matches my hair color! Formula is easy to use, makes my hair shine and in better condition than before using! NO "orangey" tones after a few washes like most other brands. Great product and great price.

I really liked this hair dye! The color turned out beautiful — a rich reddish brown that looked very nice and even. I’m very happy with the result.The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even if you don’t dye your hair very often.One thing that especially impressed me was the large tube of conditioner included in the box. There’s enough for several uses, so you can keep using it after coloring to help your hair feel soft and look healthy. That was a really nice bonus compared with kits that only include a tiny single-use packet.Great color, easy application, and a thoughtfully put-together kit. I would definitely buy it again!

Great price! Matches my natural light red copper shade perfectly! Easy to apply and I get 6-8 weeks of color. It fades slowly and no noticeable changes except for my roots. Very bright but tones down after a couple of shampoos and looks very natural. I love it.

Starting with 4 stars because I just used this for the first time this past weekend. The first thing I noticed was the need to shake up the mixture pretty good which isn't a bad thing, and is mentioned in the instructions. After vigorous shaking for about a minute, the consistency was a lovely gel or cream like which was nice. I also shook it up during the application process. The next thing I noticed was applying the mixture was super smooth and after about 1 minute, the color looked awesome! This is before it even set or was washed. Other brands do not show the color until it was washed and dry (at least from my experience). Husband noticed this also and was surprised as well. The directions point out leaving it on for up to 45 minutes, especially for resistant grays so I left it on the full 45 minutes. Not sure if I have resistant gray or not though there are a couple with the gray color (sigh). I thought perhaps 45 minutes might help with keeping the color as long as possible.After 45 minutes, I rinsed well and used the included conditioner which was also surprising. The texture of my hair seemed really nice and the color was awesome! I love a deep, rich dark black and have had trouble with other so-called black in the past. After it was air dried, my hair looked super shiny and felt good. The next morning, I showered before work as usual and used the color seal conditioner one more time. It is supposed to be once a week but I figure after a good shampoo lather (I use L'Anza Healing Color Care) the first time, it might be a good idea to condition with the sealer again. The biggest difference I noticed unlike other brands, was in the lather, there was no residual color which tends to stain towels or the walls/floor of the shower.After blow drying with the usual products (some gel, silk protein and a spritz of Tigi Frisky), my hair color looked pretty spectacular though not quite as shiny. My hair tends to be pretty dry, probably because of the years of coloring, though I will say that it did look a little better.Not sure if there are blue highlights yet but frankly, I don't care. I wanted a deep, rich, dark black that might last a while. So far, this color fits exactly that requirement with the added bonus of a little shine.My hair doesn't hold color for very long so we will see if this will last 8 weeks or so. If it does, I will change this to a 5 star and suggest everyone switch it up. I do have to mention the smell as a side note. For myself, the scent seemed mild and better than others though husband thought it was a little strong. Not unbearable, just a little strong. Thanks to Amazon for making this available in bulk!Update 04/25/2013: Still pretty happy with the color and love the conditioner which I am still using. However, the color is not as rich anymore and the roots are just starting to look like they might need a touch up pretty soon. Maybe not right away but soon. Not too bad for 4 weeks and I do think it has done better than other brands but I highly doubt this will last the full 8 weeks. It does still look pretty good and I will definitely be using again. I always use a color safe shampoo/conditioner (L'Anza, Belegenza, etc) and the included conditioner which may help so until someone invents the "automatic hair color injector", I will stick to this one. hahaUpdate 05/05/2013: Decided to go ahead and color today. In general, the color held somewhat but I noticed some of the gray starting to appear again and the roots are definitely showing some hint of my original brown. I might have been able to go another week but the color is not as vibrant or lush either. Overall, love the texture and initial color. Product is pretty good but permanent it isn't unless this just happens to be one of those instances where my particular kind of hair doesn't hold it well.

I have natural auburn hair that is mostly white now. I dye it medium to dark auburn and the color never comes off the bottom part, so I only need to dye the roots, but the top couple of inches are hard to hold color and when I dye them, it ends up being bright red that is much lighter than the rest of my hair. This shade cools the bright red and makes it match the dark auburn in the rest of my hair..

If you apply your own color, this is a great product. It gives a natural looking color, stays on 2 to 3 months and is gentle to your hair. It’s priced at a good value.

I don’t like revealing my “secrets” because perhaps my products won’t be available or the prices will get crazy but like to share with my fellow ladies!I am still using Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Permanent hair color after 30 years.I tried L’Oreal and a few other brands and they all burned my scalp and I end up with blisters and burns on my scalp. The other brands like Garnier, Revlon and Schwartzkopf just don’t color enough or right for me or they destroy my hair.Nice ‘n Easy prices can’t be beat especially on sale or with subscribe & save.I switch between blonde colors in the 9, 10, and 11 permanent colors. I use the ultra light, ultra pale, palest natural, and extra light blondes in 9, 10 or 11 only. I never do golden or ash because then my hair turns red orange or green with the ash.I have hair down to my low back and I always switch the colors because it also leaves different blonde highlights and colors in my hair every time I do the roots! It looks great and I always get compliments. I am leaving it on for as much as 45 minutes now with those horrible grays that are popping up but Nice ‘n Easy covered them up! Take that!I use subscribe and save and I switch between the colors for the cheapest between 9, 10 and 11 blondes because they’re all great! WATCH YOUR MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION PRICES BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT TRIPLES$$$ FOR NO REASONEvery 2 - 3 weeks I do the roots and maybe every 3-4 months I might add it all over and/or the ends for 5 minutes only so I don’t dry my ends!I also order 2 to 3 per month at the cheapest price because it’s worth it just for the conditioner alone!I’ve seen the Nice N Easy Color Seal Conditioner sold by opportunists right here on Amazon for $22 per bottle! Forget about Ebay at $45 for two 1.86 oz tubes.Soooo definitely purchase Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Permanent Colors in ANY SHADE under $4 just for the CC+ (Color Conditioner +Seal)! Right?They are clear conditioners in the hair coloring box.SIDENOTES:I also add 5 drops per ounce of Ardell Red Corrector or Ardell Unred out drops occasionally to reduce any orange, red, or brasiness that sometimes occurs. I know people use the purple shampoos and all that expensive stuff $25+ for as small as 8 oz but for over 30 years I’ve been using Ardell drops that used to be $.99 a 1 oz bottle! Woohoo!Now it’s about $6 for .025oz or $9.99 - $12.99 for a 1 oz bottle. Watch your prices because a few months ago I found the Ardell 1 oz for $5.99 so I bought 4.They have also have single packs of .068 ounce of Ardell Unred for $.99 if you just want to try it.With the 1 oz bottles of Ardell Unred or Red/Gold Corrector you can add it to your shampoos and conditioners yourself and save alot of $$$..MORE NOTES:Every special occasion I use CHI Ionic Shine Shades 7I Dark Iridescent Blonde or even CHI Ionic Shine Shades 9I Light Iridescent Blonde with a 20 developer to add ever so light, pink, purple, opal like iridescence shine to my hair for an amazing vibrant color. I can’t explain it.It only lasts for a few shampoos so I only do it on special occasions and I don’t dry my hair out by over-processing. CHI just adds an amazing shine of colors to blonde hair. I used to use these hair dyes often but since I started going to the salon this box dye just isn’t good enough anymore. My hair was still brown and didn’t lighten much.
