Beautiful light—studio quality on a budget
This umbrella is massive—and I love it. It delivers soft, even, and flattering light that instantly elevated my portraits. The parabolic shape really helps focus and control the light, and the reflective interior gives a beautiful, clean bounce without harsh hotspots. Setup was quick, and it feels surprisingly sturdy for the price. I paired it with a Godox strobe and it worked like a charm. If you’re a portrait or product photographer looking to level up without dropping hundreds, this is a must-have.

Great for team photos or as a giant fill light
I love neewer gear. You can't beat the quality for the price. I have two of these and use them for my large team photos on sports media day. I also use one as a fill on individual sports portraits. Easy to setup and get shooting quickly. They are lightweight and easy to transport.

Excellent Light & Large Size For Doorways
I recently got the Neewer Parabolic Umbrella for my strobe flashes, and I wanted to share my experience. First off, the light quality is really impressive. Once you set it up, it gives a soft, even light that honestly reminds me of natural window light — but with the consistency of studio lighting. It’s great for portraits or small product shoots, and the reflective curve really spreads the light beautifully. That said, there are some practical downsides. The umbrella is 7 feet tall, which works fine in my home office with a 9-foot ceiling, but getting it through standard doors fully assembled is a challenge. I’ve had to partially disassemble or tilt it at awkward angles just to move it around, which can be frustrating if you plan to move it frequently. It’s a fait value for the money considering the beautiful light output. I’ve opened and closed it several times this thing is super durable. When I move it around on my stand I feel like it is not going anywhere. It feels stable. Overall, I think it’s a solid piece of equipment in terms of light quality, but the size makes it tricky for home use. If you have high ceilings and plenty of space, it’s fantastic. For smaller offices or frequent repositioning, just be aware of the clearance challenges. Neutral rating: I’m only removing 1 star for my own space constraints, but I want to emphasize that the lighting it produces is excellent.

Well worth the price
I don't know why anyone is crapping on this. I've been a photographer since the late 80's... I know my gear and equipment... Someone posted that this is too big for any light-stand... No.. it's not. But it is large and will make things top-heavy, so you will need sandbags (This is totally normal). A few people received it with a bent main shaft... ok it got damaged during shipping, not a manufacturing issue. I've had a few of these over the years and they have always been rock solid (As long as you use sandbags)... I lost 2 to a gust of wind, light-stand fell over and the light head broke the umbrella.. that was the fault of my assistant that took his hand off the light-stand. For less than $100 you get a very well constructed 7 foot umbrella with the diffuser... and it works very well. Pro-Tip to the newbies: If you use any large light modifier of any kind it will make your overall light kit very top heavy. Sometime multiple sandbags are needed to hold the light in place, and sometimes an assistant is needed to keep their hand on the light=stand to make sure a light breeze doesn't knock it over.

It's big. (Like really big). Great for the price.
Turns out this thing was actually too big for what we needed it for (actor headshots) but it does what is advertised. It's big, the fabric diffuses the light nicely, and feels relatively durable for the price. Competitors could come in at hundreds of dollars. If you just need a large diffusion umbrella in a pinch, this will work just fine. Durability will probably be an issue if you are using it for a heavy professional environment where gear gets moved all the time. Keep in mind that as the diffusion or reflective surface gets larger, you will need a more powerful light. My Godox 60w light is almost too weak to make the most of this umbrella.
