Does this microwave well?

No. Do not microwave it. I have done so in the past and it becomes like cement. Slowly cooked and stirred with plenty of milk and some butter for the best results!

Is this the same as Maltabella ?

This product uses the same grain as Maltebela but is courser and does not have Malt. I enjoy the taste anyway, the instructions are different and I cook it out using the water ratio specified but then add milk, sugar and butter. Also goes well with almond or oat milk, add salt as you cook out for best results

Sumptuous

Sumptuous meals made from this product. Just improve on your packing to avoid leakage. The plastic packaging was slightly torn but all is well. Otherwise expedient delivery and much appreciated

Nice alternative

Thought to give this a go since Bokomo no longer sell Maltabella. It's different, which I wasn't expecting, but really nice. Now my regular Sunday morning porridge of choice.

Expiry date issue

I don't have a problem with the product itself just the fact that I ordered for my 1 yr old grandson and my daughter is very aware of expiry dates. Ordered in March 2026 and the expiry is May 2026. And I ordered 2 packets. I cannot return this item, so a lot of waste happening.
