85-Inch Class 4K Ultra HD BRAVIA 3 LED Smart TV with Google TV, Dolby Vision HDR, and Exclusive Features for PlayStation®5 (K-85S30)

We bought this TV to replace our 55 inch Sony Flat Screen that we've had for about 15 years. I am a senior and I would recommend you have your grandchild or a youngster that is digitally inclined with the set up. Today's Smart TV are no longer plug, update and play. You have to cycle through the digital media process. That being said even though it is 60 hz the picture is still great quality and does not freeze with the fast action that the older models used too. The sound is adequate but we connected it to a Bose Soundbar. The 50 inch size was comfortable for my wife and I to carry and set up. The TV comes with 4 HDMI and an optical cable link so you can hook up different components. Our old TV had only 2 HDMI ports and one died thus we are replacing it.

This TV delivers a very sharp and vibrant picture. Colors look natural and the contrast is impressive, especially when watching movies or sports. The sound is clear and the overall build quality feels premium. Setup was simple and the interface is easy to navigate. A great option if you want reliable performance and a high-quality viewing experience.

I have owned Sony TVs for decades. I continue to like the color and performance very much. But I took off one star for Google TV. Setup requires Google Home which failed. It requires backdooring the security on your router. Thus, you have to turn off your router security. I refused so it didn't work. I installed regular TV instead. I noticed that the network came up fine without Google Home. Then I essentially did a manual install of Google TV. After an hour, it worked. Ordinarily I would not have bothered but you need Google TV to install the apps like Disney+. Now everything works and no Google Home and no security holes. I strongly recommend Amazon Fire Cube instead. Much easier and it works with all of your Sony devices including your home stereo equipment. (Old DVD players not so much.) I still like the TV part very much. The color is great, the 4k scaling is superb. And you can stream 4k to it. The sound is a question mark. At my age, my hearing is not so good, so I just don't know. Thought about a soundbar but that may be overkill.

The 4K Ultra HD picture is genuinely impressive. Colors are rich and accurate, blacks are deep without crushing shadow detail, and bright scenes have excellent dynamic range. Watching 4K content from streaming services shows off what this panel can do. The clarity and detail are exactly what you want from a modern television. Dolby Vision HDR support makes a real difference. HDR content looks spectacular with enhanced brightness and contrast that brings scenes to life. The difference between SDR and HDR content is immediately noticeable. Movies and shows with HDR support look more cinematic and engaging. The Google TV platform is fantastic. Having all your streaming apps in one place with a clean interface makes content discovery easy. Voice search with Google Assistant works reliably and finding what you want to watch is fast. The recommendations are actually useful rather than just promotional content. Motion handling is excellent for the price point. Sports and action sequences look smooth without excessive motion blur. The processing does a good job keeping fast-moving content clear and watchable. For movies, the cinematic motion looks natural without the soap opera effect that some TVs impose. The LED backlighting is well-implemented. While not as advanced as full-array local dimming on premium models, the edge-lit system here does a good job of providing even illumination across the screen. Minimal blooming in high-contrast scenes and acceptable uniformity for this price range. Sound quality from the built-in speakers is better than expected. Clear dialogue, decent midrange presence, and surprising bass response for flat-panel speakers. Obviously a soundbar or external audio system will improve the experience, but the TV audio alone is perfectly usable for casual viewing. Setup was incredibly easy. Unbox, attach the stand, plug in, connect to WiFi, and you are watching content in minutes. The guided setup walks you through everything clearly. No confusing menus or technical headaches. Just straightforward configuration that gets you up and running quickly. The 55-inch size is perfect for medium to large living rooms. Large enough to be immersive, manageable enough to fit standard entertainment centers. The slim bezels maximize screen space and give it a modern premium look. The overall design aesthetic is clean and attractive. Input lag for gaming is acceptable. While not specifically marketed as a gaming TV, casual and even moderately competitive gaming works fine. The responsiveness is good enough that you will not notice any delay in normal gameplay. Remote control is simple and functional. Not overloaded with buttons, easy to navigate in the dark, responsive. The volume and channel controls are exactly where your thumb expects them. Voice control button makes search effortless. For the price, this television delivers premium features and performance that would have cost double just a few years ago. Sony quality and reliability combined with modern smart TV capabilities make this an excellent value for anyone upgrading their viewing experience.

It's become a common practice with TV manufacturers to never include enough storage, or RAM for their TVs. They always end up hanging, lagging, glitching, etc. Doesn't matter if it's a flagship either. We have a flagship 65" Sony Bravia downstairs & this 55" was for the bedroom wall. They both exhibit the same exact issues we had with our Hisense previously.

It's a good product, value for money.
