Nisha Natural Henna Based Hair Color (Natural Black) 10GM Pack of 10

Great purchase. I added 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to the mixture of water and these 10 packets for my long dark brown hair. This henna absorbs well into my hair and left the exact effect I wanted without the $200 salon price tag and stinky toxic chemicals. It was obviously a mess to clean up but well worth it. Also left my scalp feeling less oily!

So I was looking for healthier dyes recently because my hair & scalp were starting to hate the normal dyes I was buying. Nisha popped up on my Amazon one day and so I decided to go for it since I always wanted to try a henna-based dye. My hair is a very dark brown naturally & I noticed like 4 pure white strands in it this year. No thank you. I haven't colored my hair for a while because of my scalp being sensitive & also, the last time I did, my hair decided to start falling out more than usual. And so I was nervous to do any dyeing. But I went for it with this. I chose the natural black color. I followed instructions to wash my hair with shampoo only (no conditioner). I also brushed my hair PRIOR the shampooing, so I wouldn't damage it brushing afterward with no conditioner. Then, I let it dry almost completely (it was still kind of damp). I used about 3 packs for my entire roots and all the rest of my hair. I added water to the powder in a glass bowl until it became like a pourable yogurt or mud-like consistency..just eyeballing adding water. It was simpler than I thought. I left it in for about 30-35 min with saran wrap over my head, then rinsed it out til the water was clearing. After rinsing, I added some conditioner & did the usual couple minutes, then rinsed that out. I usually air dry my curls with curl cream, which is what I did. My hair looked so healthy after! The black was PURE BLACK, no mistake. But it was not the flat, cheap, box-type looking black if you get me. It was shiny and very pretty. My scalp feels healthy too. I don't see my white strands. I am so happily surprised with this! I know it is not a 100 percent chemical free dye, but it is mostly henna-based & with much less chemicals & stripping than my usual dyes. These photos show my color in indoor lighting and the outdoor sunlight. My hair is naturally wavy/curly with some frizz, but now it looks more defined and softer/shinier. And so black! (In the best way).

Easy to use and color lasts at least 6 months for me. My gray hair is mostly in my top front and not heavily gray and this product really does its job. Ty

Smells like henna feels like henna. There is definitely a few chemicals in the ingredients to oxidize the henna but in the grand scheme of things this has less chemicals than a box dye. Still proceed with caution and test for allergies. I love how henna makes my hair feel and how rich the colors are and I even love that herbal smell that stars with you for days. My only complaint is that my grays didn’t take the pigment. Some of my darker grays did but I do have a few grays that are straight up white and those did not dye.

I mix mine with a yogurt to make a protein rich hair mask. The color is perfect and very natural, no weird sheen like a box dye, and doesn't bleed as much as semi permanents like Arctic Fox.

I bought and used this product due to the it being advertised as a Henna product. The bottom line is if there is Henna in the product it is not the main ingredient. First, let me say that I used this product as instructed to add some color to my beard. I had an allergic reaction and my face became swollen within three hours of washing the product off my face. This product contains the same harsh ingredient that the Men Only national brand has. It was scary because I didn't expect such a reaction. My face became so swollen that I did not look like the same person. I also experienced a change in my breathing for a time. It's dangerous and not responsible to advertise this as a Henna product. I will recover from this but buyers should beware, Henna, it would seem is only a small fraction of this product. IT WOULD BE MUCH SAFER IN MY OPINION FOR A CONSUMER TO BUY PURE INDIGO AND HENNA TO PRODUCE COLORING EFFECTS. You may not be a person that will have an allergic reaction to the but you should know that it does have the extremely harsh chemical ingredient that the national brand has that people have reported as dangerous.

I use henna to dye my skin for costuming purposes. I have used it to dye my hair in the past however my primary purpose is marking my skin. I've used this brand for years when I have a character that needs to have temporary tattoos or spots for example. This has always turned a really really dark purple to Black on my skin. But this time it turned a ridiculously horrible Brown and looks like it cracked. I've been dying my skin for about 20 years the exact same way and have never run into anything that looks this weird. The second thing is that the Natural Black color isn't Henna. Hannah is a very specific plant that only produces a red orange-ish brown color they may have sprinkled some henna in this thing but Hannah doesn't turn purple black. The fourth ingredient on the list is the one in the title here and it is considered a dangerous chemical as it may be carcinogenic and that it can have unexpected allergic reactions even if you've used it before without any issues. Whenever I know I'm going to be making a character, I spot test every single time. There was no burning itching or dermatitis for the spot test but I did notice the color was off. Hannah can take up to 24 to 48 hours to fully develop so I figured maybe it just needed some time and proceeded to paint my arms. Every other time I have done this I have gotten smooth color with gradients toward places like knuckles and elbows and palms. I have never gotten lizard skin. I don't know if this was a bad batch or there was some kind of chemical reaction with a lotion that I had scrubbed off but...it looks horrible. Alcohol activated paint doesn't work so great on hands which is why I prefer henna and it's also cheaper but I'm not so sure about buying this particular brand again after lizard arms. The hands are a different color because I was doing a test run think of it like a dress rehearsal and had dyed my hands with a different batch earlier in the week so it is faded and there has been a lot of hand washing because I'm not gross so that's why it isn't dark and it's splotchy. I'm going to add two pictures. One of them is going to be what my arm looks like now and the other is going to be what my hand ended up looking like before to give you an idea of the difference in color of the dye. I don't think I have any pictures of just my arms with the old batch. My arms used to be the same color as the back of my hands. Over the weekend of course faded so because my event is this weekend I was redoing the color. I did not end up with purple black I ended up with poop.
