Lovely high quality coffee, great taste, and produces a great cream

I’ve been a been a drinker of good Colombian coffee for the last seven years. Recently on medical advice it has been suggested that I switch to de caffeinated. The problem is, where do you get good strong full flavoured decaffienated coffee beans? I use a DeLongi Bean to Cup machine, so it is standardised brewing technique. This is my second kilo of decaf. The first one I tried was Coffee Direct Dark Colombian Decaff, and it was completely tasteless. This one is a bit better. It’s got some flavour, after increasing strength by 33%, but not the rich, strong smooth flavour I am used to. This one is less sweet, slightly more acidic, but so much better than Coffee Direct. The beans in this bag were noticeably smaller than I have used in the past (no idea if that is good or bad), one the coffee looks a dark orangey colour rather than dark chocolate. Not sure if that is the bean, or the result of the decaffeination process. I’m not hooked on this, I’ll keep looking till I can find a decaff to suite my tastebuds.

Was looking for a really flavoursome bean with natural decafination. These beans are excellent, very good flavour, have a lovely sweetness to them. I store them in the freezer to extend the life and will be buying them again as we are getting through 1kg quite quickly. Another plus is that they have the roasted on date which is a sign of a good roaster, a lot just give a use by date Well worth trying, you can now drink espresso martinis in an evening and not be wide awake all night

This is a better decaf than one I previously tried with none of the bitter aftertaste. I tend to have Americano coffee at breakfast and do not take sugar so the real taste comes through. I have a latte at other times of day and it tastes OK for this too. I have recently been trying decaf in an attempt to reduce my caffeine intake and this coffee works for me. I use a bean to cup machine so using good quality coffee is the most important part of enjoying a satisfying coffee.

Never even tried decaf prior to this purchase, medication forced change. Short version - positive, buy it. Long version - Bought as I enjoy their caffeinated beans and thought this would be a good starting point for me new no caffeine adventure. Ordered, turned up, read packaging - happy to see roast date printed. Good sign. Roasted 2 weeks before i got it. Even better, probably about the right amount of time for the beans to degas. I'm not sure how representative of every purchase this is - I'll buy some more and report back. Opened pack, nice aroma. Beans relatively easy to crush under thumb. Into grinder. Past setting for last batch was 4 (also Coffee Masters). Came through waaay too quick. Grind size down through the steps to 1, my lowest setting. Still a bit quick, decent taste - but could be better. Reduced brew pressure down to 8.8 bar. Success. I'm getting 1 : 2.2 ratio over 28s and it's delicious. Espresso or with milk / coconut milk as a latte. I've been powering through this stuff and find myself reordering after a fortnight (caffeinated usually last me a month) - when you can't over do the caffeine you can really get stuck in. Be warned.

I held off a few days writing a review because I’ve always found that when I switch from a coffee I already enjoy it takes my tastebuds a few cups to make up their mind. Previously I was purchasing Lavazza Defaff. (The arabica not Dek) and I really liked it. Coffee masters is also a 3 but definitely slightly more bitter. So I produced a slightly courser grind. Job done. Tastes amazing. Never judge a coffee until you get the grind size correct. A great coffee can taste terrible if ground fine. This is probably quite close to Waitrose own brand 100% Arabica, but works out cheaper. I will stick with this for a while to support local British suppliers. Might even try the more premium versions. But it will take a couple of months to finish a kg. I hear people complain about not having a resealable bag. I just snip the corner off. Tip out enough to fill my grinder then tape over the hole. Simple.

Très bon déca à faire pâlir un très bon café. Néanmoins, au niveau goût, on préfère le déca a l'eau Suisse de la même marque Coffee Master qui m'a fait boire à nouveau du café après 10 ans d'arrêt tant il est bon!
