I chose chalk paint because it is notoriously easy to work with, covers well, and is durable. The serene blue color was just beautiful, and a slightly unusual color for a wood piece. Yet it matched my living room decor perfectly. The paint is thick, thicker than latex or other paints you might be more familiar with. However, it goes on well and covers completely in just a coat or two. Best of all, there's no need for sanding first! I admit, it did scuff sand a little bit first, just to assure good adhesion, but this wasn't necessary according to the package directions. Once cured, the paint is very durable with a completely matte finish that easy to sand off if you want a more distressed look to your piece. For extra durability, you might consider covering with a polycrylic or wax. I used less than half of my quart-sized can for this table. Since chalk paint is so easy to work with, I am thinking about what else I can cover with my leftover paint! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ TOP PAINT FOR ME *by on Reviewed in the United States June 3, 2026* This is by far the best chalk paint; it doesn't clump. unless of course you leave it open for several days.
