ParaGuard is the only fish and filter safe aldehyde based (10% by weight) parasite control product available. Unlike highly toxic and difficult to use formalin based medications, ParaGuard contains no formaldehyde or methanol and will not alter pH. ParaGuard employs a proprietary, synergistic blend of aldehydes, malachite green, and fish protective polymers that effectively and efficiently eradicates many ectoparasites on fish (e.g. ich, etc.) and external fungal/bacterial/viral lesions (e.g., fin rot). It is particularly useful in hospital and receiving tanks for new fish and whenever new fish are introduced to a community tank. For use in freshwater or marine. ParaGuard is recommended for the treatment of certain diseases in marine and freshwater fish only. It IS NOT recommended for treating any style aquarium containing invertebrates, corals, crustaceans, or elasmobranchs (sharks and rays).

overpriced but a must have on hand
used to be able yo get a gallon of this near for almost the same price as the two 1000ml bottles. honestly scummy that they stopped selling this in bulk tho it keeps my fish healthy.

just plain top quality
Always use sea Chem. Their stuff is above and beyond better than anything out there. Their dosing is always simple and they have any type tewatmebt or maintenance chemical you need.

great for new fish quarantine
great to use for new fish quarantine. i usually use methylene blue as new fish quarantine but this works as well as an alternative.

Was having issues with cichlid tank “flashing” this helped a lot. I decided to cover all bases including a possible parasite. It gave me lots of reassurance for healing my fish tank and taking care of the problem.

Works Great
I have not had fungus infections in my aquarium since I started using this a few years ago. It is rare when I can actually say an aquarium treatment actually does the job as this does, so I can highly recommend this.
