These are better than my Bose Sleep Buds!
Ok, I wanted to wait a week before writing this review to give the most accurate review I could, I review products a lot for a living but I am not in any way affilliated with this company, it's totally not my niche, anyway, here is my opinion: I have owned 3 pairs of Bose Sleepbuds 2, and I was very sad that they discontinued the range, one pair I purchased directly from the company and the other 2 pairs were for well over the origional cost price due to them being rare now (from private sellers). I became used to wearing them every night so they became a necessity. So, onto these! I was reluctant to order a pair of these due to never owning the product before, I like to stick to brands I am familiar with but I was tired of spending ridiculous amounts of money when my Bose batteries decided to fail (yep, and the right earphone issues). I decided to take the jump and I am extremely impressed! They are very, very similar to what I am used to, comfort, ease of use and battery life. The app is so much better too! So many custom sounds for sleep AND (it's a BIG AND).... You can actually customize many of the sounds! You can literally build your perfect sleep sound! You can select say 3 different sounds and adjust each of those with incredible precision, say you want thunder with rain and a train in the background (for example).... you can tweak the rain volume right down, increase the thunder and have heavy or almost silent rain! It's honestly unreal! The app is easy to use, just connect via Bluetooth initially, then you can play around and add the sounds to the buds. You can also set the buds up in a similar way to the Bose buds so that you do not need to use the app to begin the sounds, just take them out the case and they automatically play the sound you set as a preset, to change the sound, you can set the options to just double tap the left or right ear bud to skip sounds! You can also set the taps to change the volume. As for battery life, absolutely incredible! No issues at all, they play all night and have even had them playing constantly for 10 hours. They charge in the case and I have found a full case charge charges the buds 4-5 times but this will depend on volume and how long they run for. The only issue I had was the hardness of the silicone fittings. You get 3 different sizes to swap and change, I set mine up so they were almost identical to my Bose sizes, but the silicone is much softer so the 1st night or two took some adjusting but now, well, I'm just used to them now. I highly recommend these buds! I would never go back to buying Bose again, even if they came out with a 3rd version, everything about these is a game changer for me! Excellent product! Ooooh, also, if you lose one in the night, there is a FIND ME option in the app!

Overall, way better than the Bose Sleepbuds II that these replaced! I love them!
I had a pair of Bose Sleepbuds (MKII) for 2 years and loved them for getting a good night sleep, and not getting disturbed by noise. When Bose discontinued them, and my first pair of Sleepbuds died (battery issues), I was gutted as I assumed I wouldn't be able to find a decent replacement. Then I discovered these, and I absolutely love them. They are WAY better than the Bose Sleepbuds in my opinion for an number of reasons: 1. They will work as a normal blue tooth pair of earbuds, and they actually sound great! I often use them for workouts and the likes. 2. The battery life is loads better than the Bose sleep buds for overnight use in sleep mode. 3. The sleep sounds are much more customisable and you can layer different sounds on top of each other to create a custom sleep sound. The flexibility is fantastic. 4. They cost less than half the price of what the Bose Sleepbuds were, but are a lot more feature rich. 5. The carry/charging case isn't unnecessarily huge like the Bose Sleepbuds. It's also nice and light. In addition, the battery life of the case is also much better than the Bose and I can generally get 5-6 nights out of a single case charge before having to recharge the case. (That's with wearing the buds all night long each night) 6. The way the buds go back into the charger case is a better design than the Bose, and I've never had the buds fail to make proper contact with the case (a issue I had regularly with the Bose). 7. The passive noise cancellation (without masking) is much better than the Bose and even with no masking, they do a great job of blocking out the noise. 8. They are more comfortable to wear at night than the Bose. I did get use to the Bose, but these, I forget are even in my ears, and I'm a side sleeper! The ONLY one negative I can report is the "wing" retention system just isn't quite as good as the Bose sleep buds, and sometimes they feel a little loose despite having the largest fitments installed. However I've never had one fall out overnight, it's more they sometimes unseat themselves and I need to reposition them for a better seal against my ear canal. However this is likely a product of my ear shape and the product design, and with all the other positives, I can definitely live with this and have found a position that minimises this problem. Apart from that one minor point, these are absolutely perfect. I love them and take them everywhere with me when I travel. If you're a post-Bose Sleepbud user like myself, I can highly recommend these as a replacement, or more to the point, an upgrade. Full marks to Anker for their engineering on these. They have done a stellar job!

Perfect for Sleep, but Patchy BT Connection
Summary: + Perfect size for sleeping + Comfortable for side sleeping + Battery life is fantastic, more than I need for a nights sleep + Mobile app is easy to use and easy to send new soundscapes to the buds + No problems with buds falling out + Sleep tracking - Poor BT connectivity (cutting out all the time) - Touch controls require a much firmer tap than should be expected for sleep ear buds - Inaccurate data from sleep tracking for sleep stages Review I have used white noise generators of one sort or another for the last 15 years, and have tried other wireless earbuds in the past...but they usually stick out of my ear, and being a side sleeper, they typically result in too much pressure in my ear, making sleep a painful exercise! These Anker buds though are fantastic. I can wear them all night with no significant pressure in my ears. I've only had 1 bud fall out once, so no issues with losing them in the night. I can choose to use these with BT from my phone, or I can customise a 'soundscape' and send it to the buds to use rather than using BT. There is a wide variety of sounds available, and I can store up to 3 (I believe) different soundscapes on the buds, but these must be customised and uploaded from the mobile app. No big deal though. The mobile app is easy to use, and it is easy to customise new sounds. The app can also track sleep, although this is no where near accurate in terms of sleep stages, but it is interesting to see how much time I spend sleeping on my left- versus right-side (60% vs 40%). I've tried using BT a few times, but I've had a lot of problems with the sound cutting out from 1 bud (usually the left one) for 4-5 seconds, coming back for another 4-5 seconds, and then losing the sound in both buds for another 4-5 seconds...this happens far too frequently throughout the night, and is the cause of the 4* review rather than 5*. The phone is less than 1m from me so it isn't a BT distance problem. This is distracting enough to prevent me from sleeping. I've not sent these back though as other than this BT problem I love these buds and use them EVERY night with the 'sleep mode' sounds rather than BT. Somewhat on the expensive side, but this is money well spent in my experience.

No active noise cancellation
The major downfall of these earbuds is the lack of active noise cancellation. For a pair of sleep aid earbuds this is a deal breaker, especially at this price. You end up having to mask any outside noise by increasing the volume of the white noise tracks, which i found uncomfortable. I've had much better recent results with a pair of Samsung FE ANC earbuds, a doughnut shaped cushion to allow side sleeping, and a long rain/storm white noise track on YouTube. I also don't think the rubber tips are the best for keeping out sound. I have other earbuds that naturally block out more sound. The positives: Good build quality. The size is amazing. Easily the most compact earbuds I've ever owned. I can comfortably side sleep all night with them in, and I've forgotten I was wearing them a couple of time during the day. The sounds quality is decent. Nothing amazing for the price but I didn't have a problem with the sound. The app, sleep tracking features and ability to program white noise loops to play independently on the buds without a connected device is pretty good. Lots of options to play around with. I haven't really used these much for listening to music/radio during the day. I tend to favour my ANC earbuds as they block out noise in my building. If they can get ANC into the next version of these then they will have a winner. As it is, these were probably a bit of a waste of money for me. I'm surprised they haven't come down in price.

filled with optimism left sore and very frustrated.
I have been suffering with sleep issues for many years now. I have tried many earplugs with some being better than others. I am a light(ish) sleeper, but the slightest sounds disturb any sleep that I get - others snoring, wind blowing, neighbour’s car doors banging - you name it; it disturbs me. I often fall to sleep listening to a podcast, audiobook or watching some videos with my Sony XM3’s in, but as we all know they fall out, disturb you and then get lost in the bed. Therefore, finding these Anker buds filled me with hope and ticked many boxes – none more than the potential for blocking out sound and being comfortable when I fall to sleep with them in and then being able to leave them in. The added bonus of having some “ambient” background noises to alleviate this also sound appealing. With all of the above in mind, and reading about them on a Telegraph review, I immediately hit the “buy now” button. The fact that these were Anker also made me feel better as they have some brilliant products. And then… What a fall from grace. These on offer (limited time offer) were £99 and oh wow are these things badly overpriced. In my experience they did not block out sound to a decent level – I could still hear general nightly house noises; quilt rustling when my other half was getting into bed, doors shutting and the wind outside. The idea, some of the execution (low profile design, sleep sounds, good battery life and the vast array of attachments) was superb but the fact that they don’t block sound to an appropriate or satisfactory level is totally unacceptable. THIS was the main reason I wanted them. I desperately wanted to block out sound – much more than these do. I actually feel a little cheated – I know I could return them but that just feels like a hassle so they will be consigned to the car or draw as a desperate spare. Maybe I am using them incorrectly, but I followed everything – or so I thought – but £99, no chance. To add insult to injury my right ear keeps swelling whenever I used any of the wingtips/cover but my other ear doesn’t suffer. Obviously this is my fault but I could only ever use one bud! To price these the same as things like Galaxy Buds is rather poor. Sorry Anker, I love your products but these are not great for the purpose intended.

Brilliant in so many ways! Makes me zzzzzz
Before these Ive been using the Hush plugz silicone ear plugs - the most comfortable for quiet sleep. But i wanted to experience these A20 - maybe they would be even better? They are cumfy... I'm a stomach/side sleeper and can comfortable put my ear against the pillow with the plugs in my ear. There are different size plugs and wings included in the box. I use YouTube videos (sleep sounds like rain, thunder) or an app like Calm to fall asleep. The A20 recognize when I have fallen asleep and automatically changes to their in built soothing sounds for the rest of the night. The sounds from your phone through blutooth sound great some soundscapes are so 3Drealistic you feel you are in the middle of the woods while its raining. Lovely. The inbuilt sounds from the Soundcore app are in mono though, but you wont be bothered as they still soothing and kick only in when you are at sleep (and keep you lullying in good sleep) :) The controls need tapping on the earbuds. I had an issue with this but Soundcore customer service sorted it out. You can switch between bluetooth (sounds from your phone) or the inbuilt sleep sounds. Pros: comfortable, sound great (you can use them for podcasts, music, but there is a small latency in sounds if you want to watch videos), battery last well till morning Cons: they are tricky to put back in the case in dark, but you learn quite quickly to do it I absolutely love these. They dont have active noise cancellation (thats why they so tiny!) but they block a bit passively and then the sounds you listen to drown any noise like snoring around you. I highly recommend these!

Great For Peaceful Sleep
These Soundcore Sleep A20 by Anker Sleep Earbuds are at the time of this review (June 2026) last year’s model, and I got them for less than £80. The newer model has active noise cancelling, but it does cost a lot more. Having used passive earplugs successfully for some time I discovered that a nice wash of pink noise somewhere in the room whilst sleeping actually made my sleep so much better. But my other half doesn’t always want to hear it, and so I thought I’d see if there was a more personal solution. These little marvels are quite something, performing much better than the really cheap option I tried (at around £20). Those began to go faulty within a week of use, with poor bluetooth connection and one earbud simply refusing to charge. No such troubles with the Soundcore A20s. They are incredibly small. So much so that the soft rubber comfort sleeve around the plastic shell has a little tag on it to ensure you can get the buds out of your ear. That design feature alone suggests that a lot of thought has gone into these buds. There are touch sensitive pads on each earbud, and they can be programmed individually to start and stop the music, or to increase and lower volume. Such things are controlled by the very nicely designed companion app, which will pretty much be essential to set up and monitor your buds. Having said that, once the buds were in my ears I found it impossible to get them to respond to my taps. So, I disabled that function. The app contains all kinds of sounds you can download into the earbuds’ own memory, including what they advertise as “AI Brainwave audio”. I didn’t detect any AI or brainwaves. What differentiates the “AI Brainwave Audio” sounds from the other sounds in the app is that all the other sounds are in mono. The “AI Brainwave Audio” sounds are in stereo. One neat feature was the “Personalized White Noise”. Again, something in the naming isn’t quite right, because whilst there are a few white noise sounds there most of them are anything but - being sounds of nature or machinery. The neat part is that you can mix any three of those sounds together. Sadly, although they mix nicely they are all still in mono. The app library also has stories, sounds for meditation, and snore and tinnitus masking sounds. I didn’t use any of those sounds. But I did find a Spotify playlist that gave me ten hours of stereo pink noise, which worked really well. The only real flaw in these A20 sleep earbuds is that they aren’t very loud. I have a number of other earbuds, and the A20s are by far the quietest. You might think that wouldn’t matter, that you would be able to just send more volume to them, but whilst that does seem intuitive you may run into the same problem I did - the dreaded EU regulations on volume limitation. I don’t run into this problem with any of my other earbuds, since they are quite loud enough when the volume on my phone is set below 80%. But the A20s are so quiet that I do have to slide the volume over that limit. This means that half way through the night the volume is automatically reset to 80%. I have woken up wondering where my nice soothing pink noise has gone, only to hear it churning away almost subliminally quietly. If you have young ears (mine are nearly 70) you might not have the same problem for sleep use. But even young ears might have problems using these in any daytime setting. Overall, the whole package, with the puck shaped charging case and the magnetic charging ports inside, is well thought out. The charging case has no screen, so you will need the app. But connection starts as soon as you open the case and remove the earbuds, and connection is quick and painless. I have no reservations about recommending these Soundcore Sleep A20 by Anker Sleep Earbuds to anyone who thinks they might help with sleep. They certainly helped me, and although they were three or four times the cost of the cheaper alternatives I think they offer incredible value for money if you value deep and peaceful sleep. [Just a final few words on fitting the earbuds and getting a good sound. The earbuds come pre-fitted with their medium tips, which may suit you right away. I have big ear canals, and I need the largest tips, but even so I need to make sure they are seated correctly before a good sound is achieved. The instructions provided suggest twisting the earbuds once they are in place, but this is only half the story, and may or may not help seal them in place, depending on your own personal situation. I find it helps to dampen the outer part of the silicon tip before inserting, and push them in quite deep, then pull them out slightly. The silicon tips are very flexible and will grip the ear canal slightly, making them expand to fill the space. It’s essential to get a good seal. If you don’t then the earbuds will sound thin and tinny. You will know the seal is working when your own voice sounds boomy and resonant inside your head. It might take a bit of practice, but it soon becomes second nature and it makes the whole experience so much better. Once in place the earbuds will stay that way all through the night.]

Great sleep earbuds
Great sleep earbuds with excellent battery life I love these earbuds! They help me fall asleep within minutes by playing YouTube videos all night (I prefer voices over rain sounds). As someone with tinnitus, the audio helps mask the ringing completely. Pros: Amazing ~7-hour battery life (better than other conventional earbuds I've tried) Small, comfortable design that doesn't dig into my ears Excellent sound isolation blocks out external noise Cons: After nearly a year, my first pair's battery degraded significantly (left earbud died, right dropped to 20% after just a couple hours) Amazon support was fantastic and quickly replaced them. The new pair works great. Despite the battery issue, these are still a worthy investment. Hopefully prices for quality sleep earbuds will drop over time!

Formidable

Lots of smart design decisions
I’ve been using these for over a month, so I now feel like I can give a proper field report about them. I’m highly satisfied overall. For reference, the earbuds I used for sleeping before this were the 1MORE ComfoBuds Mini, and I was highly apprehensive about switching to dedicated sleep buds because it would mean losing active noise cancellation. However, 1MORE seems to have discontinued the ComfoBuds, and since those have pretty severe reliability issues, I decided to take a chance on these Anker buds. I have not regretted it. For starters, they’re very comfortable, and they STAY comfortable. With the ComfoBuds, they’d feel comfortable when I first put them in, but I’d be waking up a couple of hours later wanting to rip them out because of how much my ears hurt…that is, if they hadn’t already fallen out on their own by then. The Ankers feel unobtrusive all night, and I’ve worn them for 7-8 hours sleep sessions and still not woken up with ear pain. Also, they don’t fall out. Like, ever. That’s especially impressive because I move around a lot in my sleep, but never once have I woken up to find them scattered across my bed. Obviously fit is super subjective and everyone’s ears are different, but they worked well for me. Noise isolation is good. I don’t think it’s as amazing as Anker makes it sound, but I’d say that it’s about on par with how the ComfoBuds blocked noise with ANC on (which admittedly wasn’t the world’s strongest ANC). Really, the ace up Anker’s sleeve is the sleep sounds. I’ve used many headphone apps in my time, and Anker’s is by far the best. It’s well-designed and lets you mix your own sleep sounds, which I loved. There’s also sleep tracking and other features. I appreciate that you don’t actually HAVE to use their app — you can just cram the buds in your ears and listen to your usual content or sleep sounds — but I’d recommend it, just because it works really well. The in-app sleep sounds have successfully blocked out snoring, loud conversations, and vacuums when I’ve used them. Sound quality is…meh. But I mean, that’s not really what you buy these for, right? Some sacrifices have to be made for their small size. In this case, the sacrifice is that there’s basically no bass response (I listened to a thunderstorm soundscape and could barely hear the thunder). They’d be fine for podcasts or quiet music, you just wouldn’t want to use them as regular headphones when it’s not bedtime. I’ve had a few minor connectivity issues, mainly regarding one or both earbuds disconnecting when I lay on my side in a certain way. I assume that the pillow is blocking the Bluetooth signal? There’s ways to circumvent this, like putting them in a special sleep mode that doesn’t require Bluetooth, but then you’re restricted to a limited selection of sounds and you can’t use the sleep-tracking function. Usually I can just shift slightly and they’ll reconnect, so it’s annoying, but not a huge deal. TL;DR: These are comfortable, smartly-designed buds that successfully block out disruptive noises as long as you’re playing some kind of sound through them. Sound quality is acceptable, and though they have some minor connectivity issues, it’s not enough to ruin them. I would highly recommend these over using regular earbuds of any kind.

Would recommend and buy again
I have used these headphones every day since I got them. They are comfortable enough to sleep in, which is a priority for me because my husbands snoring keeps me awake. They are easy to use, I love the case. Would replace immediately if I lost them
