I have large pores and oily skin. I’m the morning my pores are always clogged and it’s hard to make it feel smooth. Enter this serum. When I cleanse and use at night the next morning after washing with my charcoal cleanser my skin is super smooth and squeaky clean. I recommend and will buy again.

I have been using the 2% BHA solution from Paula's Choice ($37) for years now. It slowly crept up from $19 to it's current price so I searched for an alternative. This solution is exactly the same in terms of listed ingredients and how it goes on skin for less than half the price. Happy I found this.

I love it, I use it a lot.

So far, I'm on the fence about this facial serum. It's been good for my needs, but I'm not in love with the consistency. It's oddly thick and leaves an almost gooey layer along the surface of the skin which I really don't care for. Then again, I can understand that that could be helpful in troubled spots because it stays on the surface to ensure that it offers hours of protection and relief. I have mature combination skin that still, at times, needs some treating as though I'm still a teenager. That's mostly along my nose and occasionally some other odd spot. My nose always needs that extra cleaning up which is why I've been using this on my nose. It does seems to clean out the pores rather well. One thing that I find helpful is to allow this to fully sit on my skin for a few hours. Then ever so gently take a clean towel and pat off the excess. Do not rub! You only want to remove the damp looking residuals. This serum contains ingredients that has long proven to be beneficial for me. Because of its consistency, I will only use this for spot work. But that's good enough for me because that's the kind of skin that I have. Works for me. Once you try this, you'll know how much to use and exactly where to layer onto your skin. Good for both men and women alike, be they teens or seniors.

I was truly hoping this was the answer to my prayers in regards to my neverending struggle with blackheads and now a bit of enlarged pores. I’ve been using this consistently on a daily basis and it has not been too strong for my combination skin. In fact, quite the contrary - I found it to be extremely gentle. There has been no irritations and/or breakouts to report. Why I’m neutral about the product is because I’m uncertain if this is truly doing anything for my blackheads and pores at all. With it being so gentle and in a thicker consistency - is it really penetrating deep into my pores to remove the gunk out? I’m not so sure it’s been working and I’ve been using it for about a couple of weeks now. What I did like was there’s a generous amount of product in the bottle and the pricing seemed to be fair. I’m almost done with mine and perhaps I might reorder to gauge a more accurate feel of whether this exfoliant truly works or if this might just be a bust.

Update 1 year later: This is still the best 2% that I’ve ever used. This isn’t a cure all, I’ll start by saying that. But for acne scars this is my holy grail. My sons, as well. Please use caution as this can be irritating to the skin. Test it on a small patch of skin before applying the treatment. If no irritation, go for it. This price makes this even that much more worth it! Add this to your skin care routine if you have marks on your face, you won’t regret it.
