Amazon Brand - Wag Grain Free Dry Dog Food for Puppies, Chicken and Lentil Recipe (5 lb. Bag) Trial

When I brought my new chihuahua home last year he was only and he had been accustomed to Eukanuba dog food which was sent with him to come home with me. When I got home he acted like he didn’t like Eukanuba the food as he wouldn’t eat it hardly at all which worried more me. He isn’t my first chihuahua or first dog, so after trying with the this food to no avail, I decided to try the chicken and lentil Wag with him. He loved it and he immediately ate it right away. I love the pricing and formulation. To this day, he continues to eat this and gets excited every time it’s meal time. Hope this will continue with same quality and affordability!!

Pups love this. In fact the little boy will puke eating anything else!! Get car sick and just over all can’t tolerate other ‘grain free’ foods (grandma watched them and the pups got into her Rachel Ray small dog food which I think is to be grain free). The little girl (sis and bro from same litter) doesn’t have as much trouble switching foods. But the boy is a boy and starving all the time I just wish the puppy food had more flavors. Both pups rather eat other food for the flavor but since their 5 ish months old now I’m gonna start mixing big dog food into theirs so it’ll be a bit cheaper on me (both pups are 35 ish lbs and we expect the boy to be 50 lbs by one year of age. Girl will be smaller) but they go though one puppy bag of food every two weeks or less They also get my older dogs left overs and we feed them meat n extra veggies from dinner a few times a week typically also to supplement their food intake. The puppy’s have free range automatic feeder outside where we are a lot of the time they ate the same when it was inside the camper also.

I don’t think my dog likes the flavor or the smell of the puppy chicken. She turns up her nose at it a lot. However she eats quite a lot less of it but has not lost weight, her coat is shiny and she’s bright eyed and healthy after 2 months on it so it must be a quality food with few fillers. I’ll try the turkey or beef next maybe she will like it better. It has 5 stars on some independent food rating sites while the expensive Merick has 4.5. I’ll stick without for now.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this dog food. Or I should say "my chorkie has thoroughly enjoyed this dog food" to avoid people asking if I eat dog food(don't judge me.) I digress. Our dog has had a sensitive stomach ever since we rescued him. If he eats the wrong food, he tends to throw up and/or have severe itching problems. However, with WAG dog food, he has found a brand that he loves to eat. His stomach is doing a lot better as a result and he is perfectly healthy. Most store brand kibble comes loaded with a bunch of chemicals and different ingredients, which aren't consumable for us, so why would you give them to your dog? This brand has no added grain which is very important. And for 15 pounds of dog food, the price is a steal! So try it out!

My husband and I have two six month old Golden Retriever/ Black Lab puppies who are siblings. Jackson weighs over 60 lbs and Karla weighs almost 50 lbs. We tried several brands of grain free kibble for large breed puppies and they seem to like Wag the best. They eat a lot and they always clean their bowls. Several of the other brands caused Jackson to develop diarrhea. We want a puppy food they both can tolerate, but more importantly one that provides the nutrients needed to support their rapid growth. Wag is very crunchy and aids in keeping their teeth clean. The price is good especially with the subscription program. The only thing I would like to see is the addition of another blend. Variety is the spice of life even for "little ponies" like ours. Our neighbors are Wag recruits for their big puppy too, so yes we have already encouraged others to try it.

5-Stars for Ingredients: I really wanted to like this puppy food. It's well reviewed here on Amazon and on several dog food review websites. The ingredient list is excellent and it's much more economical than other foods of similar quality. 2-Stars for Flavor: Our Labrador puppy simply didn't like it. Every meal was a struggle to get her to eat - you could tell it was a last resort. I finally gave up after feeding half a bag and got puppy food of the same brand as our senior's dog food. She attacked the bowl so quickly that I felt bad that we'd tried to get through the bag of Wag. I tried to do a slow change over (as recommended) but she just ate around it. Our senior dog - who hoovers most any food - never went after the Wag puppy food either. 3-Stars for Freshness: I found the Wag food to have a funky odor - like stale / cheap pig ears. I originally dismissed it as "it's dog food" but after comparing it to the smell (or lack thereof) of the new food, it's notable enough for me to consider it either a flavor or freshness issue. 3-Stars Overall: I would recommend buying a small bag to taste test first. It's ingredient quality and price are worth the gamble to find out if your puppy likes it or not. Just be aware that this food is probably not for picky eaters.

My mini poodles love this new food. We discovered they are sensitive to potatoes and sweet potatoes as well as grains. It is hard to find a potato free and grain free dog food that is also free of beef, lamb and other red meat varieties, but includes the fermented pro-biotics. One has been very sensitive to the point of a dull thin coat but now she eats great, her coat is thick and healthy. We picked the puppy recipe because it is chicken based and small kibble while being formulated for puppies AND adults. They can eat Wag's larger kibble recipes, but my sensitive one of the two can't tolerate an all turkey recipe.

I used to feed my pug generic name brand food and realized he started getting diarrhea from it. Then i switched to royal canin and it costed me a pretty penny. Everything was fine after a few days before he started getting diarrhea again and i decided to try this because of the coupon it offered. Let me tell you guys, it was definitely worth it! My pug no longer has diarrhea and i'm already on my 4th bag more than 2 months later. He's always eager when it comes to meal time so i know he loves it too. I would definitely reccommend this especially because of the price. Its cheaper than other brands, but it doesnt mean the quality is cheaper too.
