TubShroom The Revolutionary Tub Drain Protector Hair Catcher Strainer Snare, Green

I never knew how much hair was going down the plug hole until I started using the TubShroom. I bought it as I was going to have 3 friends staying with me for an extended period. They all have long hair and this simple little device saved a lot of hair from potentially blocking up my bathtub.

Bit big but does a good job

I have been quite impressed with this. The TubShroom is obviously designed for American drains that must be deeper than ours in the UK. It was very easy to install. As other reviews stated it does sit a little higher (about 2cm) in the bath than the company implied. This does not cause any problems except that it is easier to knock over when showering. I live with husband and 2 sons, we all have short hair, yet this catches a lot of hair. It needs cleaned every 1-2 days which I found surprising. I am impressed with this simple idea.

Okay so the product does exactly what it should and it great for catching hairs as it describes. For this it’s an all round good product that I must admit reduces the amount of drain unclogging I have had to do! Thumbs up for that. The only thing I disliked is that while it’s great for dropping hairs going down the drain, it’s also easily clogged by suds/bubbles which of course makes the water more difficult to drain. The water fills up in the shower if you use too much shampoo or body wash etc so while it’s great for doing the job, It periodically needs removing during use to let the water flow freely.

Bought this with 3 long haired people in the house thought it would be ideal. But our plug hole is a standard plug and quite shallow so it doesn’t sit in the plug hole. If you remove the centre of the plug hole (as it suggests in the listing) it would disconnect the pipe underneath and I wouldn’t have to worry about hair down the drain cos the ceiling in the kitchen would collapse!! If you have a normal plug hole don’t waste your money!

I really like this product compared to others i’ve used in the past for a few reasons: 1: Flexible material makes it really easy to pinch and get all the hair off at once 2: I recommend rinsing soap suds off and removing from plughole between uses (to keep mould away), this product is raised off the ground a bit when on a flat surface on legs rather than flush, meaning it dries easier and therefore hopefully won’t get mouldy like others i’ve had before. 3: lightweight, easy to grab to remove 4: water can still flow fast down the plughole 5: looks really neat 6: won’t move around

Bought it to stop the blocking of the drain by long hair. Easy to 'install' (you literally just place it in the drain, no technical skills needed), easy to remove (you lift it out) and easy to clean (the hair curls neatly around the shroom and you just slide it off into the bin. Bought the stopshroom as well to ensure we could still have baths and that works like a dream too. Can't complain, love it. No more harsh chemicals down the drains to try and dissolve hair blockages.

It seems to be designed for a much deeper waste than our bath has. I assume it's an American thing and it doesn't fit British bath/shower wastes. So in our bath is sticks up so far, with so little of it inside the waste that you only have to touch it slightly by accident for it to pop out and fall over. If it stayed in place it would be great though. It catches all the hair and it's easy to get the hair off afterwards (though not as easy as it looks in the video). You do need to take it off straight away though as it's very difficult once it's dry. The bath does fill up a little when showering, as it cuts down on how fast the water drains away, but not a huge amount. If only it fit our bath better I'd give it 5 stars but really they need to redesign it to fit British sanitaryware before selling in the UK as at the moment it's not fit for purpose and quite expensive given that.

I’m really impressed with the TubShroom Bathtub Drain Hair Catcher. It’s simple to use, fits neatly in the drain, and does a great job catching hair before it causes a clog. Cleaning it out is quick and easy, and I appreciate that I don’t have to use harsh drain cleaners nearly as often. Such a small product, but it makes a noticeable difference. Definitely worth it!

So impressed with this product. 2 boys and 1 girl in this house And Only used for two days and look at how much gunk it’s caught.
