Update: 2 years later the noise sensor has malfunctioned and always shows around 60 dB. All other measurements are still working as expected, with temperature accurate, CO2 very consistent, and PM 2.5 tracking local air quality if I've got the windows open.I'm happy with the accuracy and build of this monitor. When I check outside air, the PM 2.5 agrees with local Purple sensors, which are pretty good. It uses the same type of laser particle counting cartridge. CO2 is correctly in the 400s. Temperature is spot-on checked against my Chef-Tap. It's hard to know what the VOC means, but it does rise in the basement where it smells a little musty. The sound monitoring is the only thing that doesn't work well. It never drops below 43 dB, probably because the sensor is too close to its internal fan. That's a small quarrel, given that my ears can tell me the noise level perfectly well.The form factor and screen are beautiful, and I'm hopeful it will last a while since the particle sensor is replaceable. The display is crisp and clear, and you can set a priority measurement to be large enough to read at a glance or put it into a clock mode with small air quality displays at the bottom.I was pleasantly surprised that it doesn't need the app at all. It can connect to wifi on its own, with a touch-screen keyboard to put in the password. Connected to wifi it shows hourly and daily graphs and you can set your city for local weather. The automatic time zone setting doesn't work, but it's easy to set manually. It does function off of wifi, but only shows time and immediate sensor readings. The app shows the readings and graphs but I doubt I'll use it much unless I get one of their satellite pm 2.5 sensors. It's designed to integrate into Xiaomi's Mi Home and could probably control connected air filters but that's not of much use in the US. Overall, it's a pricy sensor but well worth the money.

Cool monitor, BUT DOES NOT HOLD A CHARGE --DIES IMMEDIATELY AND NEEDS TO ALWAYS BE PLUGGED IN. Not as described, as we wanted to use it in remote sites and on the road; not just be plugged in constantly in one location...

A year later, still very happy with this air quality monitor. Easy to use, easy to set up, read, etc. I think the PM sensor may be dead now, wouldn't be unexpected I guess. But seeing 30 days of data online is great. The battery is fine for moving it from one place to another but doesn't last long.

My first impression of this device was very good. It was nicely packaged and has a very nice looking UI and offers the measurements I am interested in. I went for this product as opposed to some of the cheaper models thinking it would be more accurate and higher quality, and at first, it seemed like this was a good assumption.The first problem I noticed is that the battery didn't seem to charge when the unit was plugged in, but not turned on. Maybe this is by design (although that is a strange design), but seemed to indicate possible problems.Now, after 4 months the unit's screen started to freeze and required a reboot. At first it would last almost a day before freezing, but now it freezes almost instantly. It's basically useless.It's probably worthy of a one star rating, but I'll give it two since the packaging, form factor, and UI were good, but I suspect the software running on this thing is buggy. Maybe it will be fixed at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.

I bought several air quality devices and this one seemed to be the most accurate which would justify a five star rating. I reduced it down to 3 stars because the charge on it will only last a couple of hours, so you just need to keep it plugged in at all times. It just died on me giving me one year of service. For the price, you would think it would last longer than a year. Despite these issues, I just ordered another one. I noticed in reading the other reviews, others had the same issues I just mentioned.

This is a great air quality sensor. I purchased one before my trip and used it on the trip and found it to be very accurate. If I spray some hand sanitizer in about a minute, then the VOC will start beeping.You can set an alert for a threshold for the different air quality categories, which is very handy and then you can tap a button to stop it.One time at night time the CO2 levels got high, so it beeped and so I knew that I needed to open a window. That only happened one time. It has a touchscreen which is really nice and it’s really easy to use right out of the box. The battery lasts probably three or four hours so I usually keep it plugged in and during the day I turn it off which I believe can save the life of the product because when I’m not home, I don’t really need it on so. It has this cartridge that you put in in the back and I’m pretty sure that probably has a life expectancy of that cartridge. Not sure how long it lasts, but I think turning it off during the day when you’re not home can extend the life of the product.It’s easy to turn it off just push and hold the button on the top and you can either reboot it or turn it offWhen I got back from my trip, I purchased another one for the home.You can also program it so the screen turns off between a certain time like when you’re sleeping, but it will still work while you’re sleeping.If you’re concerned about connecting it to your Wi-Fi, then you could just set up a guest network temporarily just so it can do a firmware update which will happen when you get it new out of the box and then it will set the timeAfter that, you can turn off the Wi-Fi really easily in the settings if you don’t want it connected to the Wi-Fi

Bought this based on the review from BreateSafeAir for our nursery. It’s been good, seems pretty accurate. I confirmed the CO2 and air quality measurements with ones from other devices. It also looks really nice. The touch screen is super high quality and the software its running is very smooth, it looks a bit like iOS. Very easy to use. I also love that you can put it in “private” mode to detach it from their servers, and that you can replace the air quality sensor without disassembling the device. Only real complaint is that it is kind of a pain to put in private mode and sometimes temperamental getting the connection stable. It’s also a bit pricey, but it’s hard to put a price on health stuff. If I could afford one in every room I totally would[1 year update] A family member dropped it on the ground, and a small plastic locking switch over the PM sensor broke (see photo). Since the back panel is magnetically attached there’s nothing to keep the sensor in and we’ll have to hack something together. It’s a bit frustrating that a >$100 device has a failure point on a part that’s like $0.01

Worked great at first, but had very short battery life and I had to leave it plugged in constantly. After 5 days it stopped working entirely and now will not turn on even when plugged in. I would not recommend this product.

Very easy to use and the readings seem consistent between measurements. I also love that it stores the data for a period of time so you can look back at the readings from the previous night

Only the battery is an issue when not pluged in and also it does not work with xiaomi smart home

No entiendo tantas malas criticas, creo que funciona bastante bien. Para los que se quejan de la batería se puede configuar para que se apague a los 5 minutos y así no gaste. En mi caso lo tengo siempre enchufado a la corriente ya que entiendo que va midiendo siempre y la pantalla encendida gasta, así que ningun problema, es bonito y se ve de calidad.
