Greenworks 80V 10 in Electric Pole Saw, 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger

I have several Greenworks power tools. I was reluctant to buy this pole saw concerned that it is hangs up, I'll have trouble reaching it. I've had two gas/oil mix pole saws with power to spare. This one operated great. I had limbs down quickly. It is very handy to be able to trim something and not have to take a chainsaw and a ladder and be at risk of making a Fail Video Reel.

Works great. Has an intermediate section that can be used to make the pole longer. I have two products with 80V batteries so I have plenty of power when using the saw. The pole saw lasts a long time on the first battery that I use, but I can swap and start recharging the first battery when needed.

The only thing I dont like about this pole saw is that the head is sooo heavy. It severely limits the length of extensions that can be used because at length this head becomes really heavy and hard to maneuver. The weight does however add tot he cutting ability which is amazing. The chain comes sharp enough to take quarter inch flakes and will easily cut a 8 inch diameter hardwood log just as well as a gas powered handheld chainsaw. Power is respectable too and the overload protection rarely kicks in, usually only when the chain gets bound or pinched. Chain durability is excellent too. An entire 14in diameter black walnut was cut into 18" logs and brush rendered to firepit length without needing to sharpen although it is getting close now as the chips are getting smaller.

I bought the Gen 2 because it was 3 lbs lighter than the Gen 1, and I am glad I did it, as the weight, while still 10 lbs, is tolerable. Fortunately, the heavy battery counterbalances the heavy head. The cut from such as small blade is fast and impeccable, even for large branches.

This has great power and try the pole is long enough to cut high branches. This goes goes great with my other Greenworks blower and weed wacker. All use the same battery type.

Instructions were easy to understand and assembly of the saw was simple. Pole saw is relatively heavy with 80 volt battery at one end and electric motor at the other. Can be a little awkward to use when all three sections are used and extends the saw to its full length. A shoulder strap is included that helps with controlling the saw. Saw cuts well and handles 2" to 3" diameter limbs with ease. Only problem was that the chain oil slowly leaked out of the reservoir while stored horizontally on the wall. I may have to empty the reservoir after each use before storing.

Easy to use and does a great job cutting high limbs.
