Why all battery boxes are not made like this I have no idea. I used this one on a boat. The NOCO boxes are great for that purpose. Tough and durable, easy to open, stay shut when you need them to and most important, keep the water out. They come in a variety of sizes and are less expensive than the traditional brand for boats as well. I have bought a lot of battery boxes over the years as I like to set up my boats electrical system with multiple batteries. This is by far the best choice for a plastic marine battery box or any kind of battery box for that matter.

Work in progress, on my eBike. Box is satisfactory for the purpose. A flatter top would be easier for mounting accessories. My GoldenMate 20A battery - not a U1- fills just over half the width, so I have some room left for wiring. (Which is what I wanted.) Not sure why you would need to poke open vent holes on the top of the lid (as indicated inside) when you have wire ports along the edges. Just saying... Decent plastic thickness. Drills easy. Adding main power switch and a USB port to whats in the pic, and it's done...

Fit a U1(lawn mower) size battery well the full-size screw down mounting plate was verry nice no template needed like with the 2 individual screw in strap mounts

Bought it to house a tractor battery for a bilge pump on my fishing boat. The tractor battery fit the battery box just right. I wanted the smallest box that would house a tractor battery since I am using it on a small fishing boat with limited space to house the battery box and gas can. It looks well made and should last for many fishing seasons

Perfect battery box for my trailer. I came with a group U1 battery tray, but open to everything. Bolted this box to the tray and it keeps water and debris out very well.

Excelente producto. No le doy 5 estrellas por su forma de empacarlo. La tap debería venir empaquetada para no sufrir rayaduras al venir en la parte baja se frota y se raya. Como en mi caso la tapa parece usada. Fuera de eso buen producto. Mejoren su embalaje de envío

J'avais deux piles de type U1 pour mon tracteur à gazon que je transportait dans mes mains à l'automne. Maintenant elle resteront à l'abri durant l'hiver dans le garage.
