Great item for the metal detector enthusiast

Wish it was louder but it works well
I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it is for the low price, but this thing it works. I bought a new metal detector because all I had was an old kid's metal detector. While waiting on the new detector to arrive I took this thing out and with that basic detector and this I had a blast. I found 7 pennies, a spoon and some rusty nails within an hour. The only caveat, is that this is not loud. It does vibrate which helps, but the tone is low enough that I had to cock an ear toward the ground when I used it. One of the pennies this picked up was a good 3-4 inches deep. Can't wait to pair this with a more serious detector, there is no telling what I will find.

Very sensitive
Very light weight. The screw that adjusts the sprinkler head is metal so I was able to find a buried sprinkler head!!

Worked intermittently
I bought this as a backup to my name-brand pinpointer. On the first try it worked for about 30 minutes and did a reasonable job of pinpointing. Then it started beeping continually and would not stop even when it wasn't near metal. Then after another half hour it started working again. This pinpointer is either on or off. There are no adjustments. It seems to be reasonably sensitive but the unreliability is a concern.

If you want to keep your child entertained for hours. Buy this! Great for bringing a friend to help dig up treasures. Bought for my 10 year old who basically has everything, and it was a hit with him and his pals. You may spend more time on the beach, trails or wetlands with this so be prepared!

Quality fun toy for child
Looks like a fun toy! Seems to work - purchased as a Christmas gift and the ground is covered with snow so will update this review later if we discover anything negative. Bought for a 6 year old who is very excited to explore for treasures. Item is made of sturdy plastic, easy to assemble, light weight, adjustable and easy to operate.
