A decent upgrade to your Tv's sound
I think that for the price this is a very good soundbar. The surround sound is great and makes you feel like you are in the movie or show you are watching (as long as they mixed it right). It's okay for music, it didn't blow me away but does a fine job. As for the Atmos it's not going to make it sound like you are in a movie theater, but it is great at getting about 80% of the way there, if it had a little more height to the sound it would be a lot closer. Overall I would buy this again

Perfect Surround Sound System
I love this sound bar and rear speakers!!! It’s easy to hookup but I did have a problem pairing with the rear speakers but after 7 to 8 times yes I stuck with it cuz I wanted it to work and I’m so glad I did!!! Love it!!! It’s AWESOME !!!!! The rear speakers come with a very long cord approximately 26 inches long! Which I loved! Nice crisp sound!!! You either adjust settings on the remote or Vizio app, Vizio app works best and if you have a problem you just text support right on the app!!! So cool!!! I totally recommend this system! I have tried other surround sound systems and this way the best one!!! My friend and I have a hard time hearing so the read speaker are perfect for that! You can make the sound so clear in the app or on the tv remote in settings!!! Must purchase this system!!!! Real simple to install only a few cords!! LOVE THIS SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM!!!!

How's your patience with connecting to apps? How about every time you want use the speaker?
I'll start with just good general advice: if the key features of a product can only be accessed via an app, do not buy it. If and when you can hook up to the app you can get pretty good sound. But you'll have to remember your magic trick for connecting to the app, because you'll need to do that each time you watch TV. My trick is: Close the app completely. Shut it down, no background processes. Forget the device in my phone's Bluetooth (BT) Turn BT off to clear the cache While my BT is off, turn off the speaker by holding the "-" and "á›’" for 5 seconds. Wait for it to cycle back on. Press and hold the "á›’" on the speaker for 5 seconds until a blue like starts up. Turn BT back on for my phone Go back into the Vizio app and hope to god it worked. Why the fuss each time? Because if you're TV has any brains at all (aka, has an ARC/eARC HDMI port, most smart TVs will nowadays) it'll just reset any of the speaker settings you worked hard on earlier. So that narrow, tinny sound that comes default out of the box will continue to great you each time you use this speaker. What if your TV doesn't have ARC/eARC? Well, the speaker will still get reset because it lost its connection to the app. Does that seem like a paradox? Yes it sure does. If that doesn't convince you, I'll leave you with the most infuriating characteristic a sound system can have: an unreliable Mute function. You can mute the sound in one app, like YouTube, but if you decide to go to YouTubeTV your sound unmutes automatically. It's almost as if the mute will only work if there is a constant input from an app, and as soon as you close or switch apps, that flicker of input off/on tells the speaker to come back on. If you find Vizio systems with a controller, check them out, I love my old system. I can't and won't buy Vizio again unless remotes make a return. I reiterate my general advice, don't trust when key features can't be accessed on the product itself.

Pleasantly surprised
I honestly was worried that I’d spend $200 and not like the sound quality. I have sophisticated ears and can be picky about speakers. But in this price range, I don’t doubt these are the best. Everything is crystal clear, the soundbar really does sound like 3 different speakers (left, right and center). I’ve experienced zero distortion (and the first thing I did was put on Man of Steel to hear it deal with intense music and a lot of action), and I’m surprised at the difference it immediately made. Once you dial it in to your taste, it’s exactly like being at the movies. And no more dialog being super quiet while music and action are super loud. It’s easy to setup, comes with everything you need right in the box. I have little side tables on each side of my couch, so the satellite speakers sit in line with the back of the sofa, the subwoofer is on the bottom shelf of the left side table. My apartment living room isn’t big, the TV is about 8 feet away with the soundbar underneath. Once I turned it all on and put the app on my phone it immediately connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth, and this is how you change settings and adjust EQ and balance. A lot of people complain about this, but I like it. I like being able to have more than a button on a remote, I like the visual representation of what I’m adjusting. Once you’re happy with the balance and EQ, your TV remote should adjust volume (at least mine does, connected via HDMI ARC). So you won’t have to use the app every time. The speakers have weight to them, even the small satellite speakers. They don’t feel cheap, even though they’re made of hard plastic with fabric over the fronts. The power cables could be a little longer (they’re standard size, 3’ or 4’), but the speaker cables from the woofer to the satellites are very long. It’s cool they included little Velcro cable ties, so you only need to unravel what you need and it stays organized. Literally my only complaint is having to create a Vizio account in the app to control this system. Love the app, hate junk emails.

New Version Compared to 11 Year Old Vizio S425 Soundbar
My old Vizio soundbar quit working at just over 11 years of age, possibly due to mere age, but also possibly due to electrical fluctuations during recent storms. Being fairly happy with the product, I picked this updated model, even though it has limited inputs, as the older one did. This time though it's primarily HDMI eArc, where the older version was optical. The price 11 years later was within a dollar of the price before. Upon arrival I was a bit skeptical of the quality without a price increase because everything was smaller. The subwoofer was only about 1/3 the size, the surrounds maybe 2/3rd and the soundbar almost half height. But comparing them all the new items were approximately the same weight as the old. Installing and firing up was without issue, except that the Fire Cube setup was not able to turn the device on/off the first try. Reviews here often complain about the lack of a remote. If they were familiar with the prior remote they wouldn't complain! Using my smartphone is far preferable to that older remote, which I didn't even bother to keep batteries in. The only downside to this new system is there's no IR input, so you can't sync your IR remote to it, but volume should be controllable through HDMI. No issues with my Fire Cube remote. And really, how much do you need to use a soundbar remote--volume should be controllable through a TV or Fire device remote via HDMI. But more on remotes later. My concern over the size of the components turned out to be a non-issue. Mind you I'm sure a soundbar that costs 4x as much would sound better, but for my ears it's good enough. This newer version sounds just as good as the older version, and the subwoofer is probably stronger (although that could be a software adjustment on Vizio's part). More likely it sounds stronger because the new subwoofer not only has a port, like the old version, but also is openly exposed firing at the floor. Speaking of ears, there is one feature that requires the new remote app. There is a "ClearDialog" which basically boosts the center channel to make speech easier to understand. This setting will reset to zero so you need to turn it back on when you need it. There's also a "height" setting to virtually create the sensation that the speakers are higher for some content, but I haven't tried that. Two areas where this isn't as good as the older version. First, the lights on this model is a single light which merely changes color for certain events. The older version would light up with the written name of the surround version of the program playing, giving you the name if you were close enough so see it. Also, there were a few lights giving you some idea of the volume level. Now the remote app is the only place I can see volume is at 34, for example (the display on my TV doesn't give a relative value). So more information provided in a better manner in the older version. Second, I thought that buying the same brand would mean not having to change out my wiring, but I did because the old RCA jacks would not fit into the new subwoofer ports. A needless and inconsiderate change by Vizio. Anyway, hopefully this device will last at least another 10 years. Going without a soundbar for a couple of days made me realize how much I appreciate it.

The most Bang for the Buck!
I've paid more money and more equipment over 30 years that never performed nearly as well as this! You have all the right adjustments that you can make for your specific tastes and the remote is on your phone. I leave it on all the time and it automatically picks up the correct type of sound and goes to the right speaker. You can feel the base and create your own little bubble. My wife was not all that excited about it until she heard the difference for awhile. This is one of those times I've received more than I paid out for the system. The set up was flawless. I had purchased another system which was more expensive but I sent it back within 24 hours because I couldn't get it to set up with blue tooth and there was no Customer Service. Well spent money!!

One of the Best Budget Sound Bars *Ever* !!
Given it's remarkably low price point, this Vizio astounds with it's top notch room filling immersive sound and Atmos performance. Is it on the level of Sonos or Bose or other high end models? Of course not, it's a Vizio that costs less than a nice night out. But, and I say this as an insufferable, pompous audiophile, I was nothing less than gobsmacked after setting this one up.... which is easy, although I recommend using a better quality HDMI cable than the one that comes in the box, by the level of quality sound. The bar itself along with the surround speakers and the Sub are well built, heavy and solid as bricks.. I could ramble for days about the almost perfect existence of this product (if only the surround speakers were truly wireless... they're not, they plug into the wireless subwoofer, which means dealing with wires and hiding them and trying not to have guests trip over them sending them flying out the nearest window, rolling into the pool and ending up sharing a rather vigorous weekend with the pool boy......🤣 But I digress. Just buy the darned thing.

Sounds pretty good...after tuning
The out of the box sound of this isn't super great. Highs and lows are almost non existent. Setting the EQ to direct and turning on TruVolume via the app gets it 90% of the way to sounding good. Then adjusting the various other sliders for your specific room should do the rest. If the sound was half decent out of the box, this would be 5 stars. The out of the box sound is truly terrible though. Having to set up an account for the app is annoying, but being able to use an app to tune everything is a much better experience compared to fighting through menus or worse, deciphering led blinks on the sound bar (the solution some other sound bars use). Setup is easy, and the mix of wired and wireless is nice (no cable running to the back of the room, but also no hunting down for separate outlets for the speakers). No pairing was required, which was nice. There don't seem to be any drop outs either, even in the dense area I'm in. I do wish there was an additional input option, other than HDMI (like some sort of toslink/optical) as I don't really have free HDMI ports, but for the price one port is acceptable. It does mean there isn't any input fiddling which is nice I guess. Overall, good value for the price, after some tuning. Update: After using this for a while, I've encountered a few other issues I wanted to note here. First, some content causes the sound bar to get quiet randomly. It seems to happen the most with YouTube videos that have periods of absolute, bit perfect silence between someone talking and less frequently with games that have chiptune music. I believe the sound bar is changing modes (like switching from Dolby to PCM or similar) due to the quiet audio, then taking a moment to switch back when audio resumes, however I can't say for sure. This has happened with multiple different TVs and source devices. Second, the wireless sub will occasionally (as in once every several months) disconnect from the sound bar. Unplugging both and reconnecting them fixes it 95% of the time, and manually reconnecting them fixes it the other 5%. Both of these issue have lost this an extra star from when I first reviewed it.

One of the worst systems out there. It constantly disconnects, and the sound is weak, intermittent, and mediocre. My recommendation: spend a bit more on a reliable, higher-quality option. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances.

Buen producto, me gustarĂa más volumen y menos cables
Tiene buena fidelidad y es fácil de vincular con la TV. Me hubiera gustado que las bocinas fueran completamente inalámbricas

Sounds great
Absolutely great sounding system. What a difference between just having a soundbar and having a 5.1 system. Super easy to set up (part of the reason I purchased this unit) with very few cables to run. The sub-woofer came unpaired and literally took seconds to pair up with the central soundbar. Highly recommend.

Old firmware
They sold me a version with outdated firmware that is in circulation still. Unable to connect to Samsung TV because of old firmware . They also sold me a unit that doesn’t match the model name in the description. But the Bluetooth works and sound pretty nice
