Fluffandsmut Review: "Say You'll Stay"
LOVE. Oh man, what an emotional roller coaster this book took me on. I was actually sitting in an airplane trying to hold back my tears and sobs and snot. And laughs. And pheromones. This book has everything. I don’t usually get overly sensitive/emotional/sloppy when reading but I couldn’t help it. Corinne (author) did such an amazing job of pulling me into this story and enabling me to feel everything that Presley was going through. And as a mother and wife, it all really hit home. I know the books I review are typically a bit more erotic, and there was a bit here, but I have not a single regret in reading it.So there’s probably going to be some spoilers coming. It can’t be helped. There were so many powerful and passionate moments in this book that I have to share some of them despite what they reveal. “‘Lies! You lied! You broke me! I yell at the man in the photo. ‘I loved you! I believed you when you said you’d never hurt me.’ My voice cracks. ‘You didn’t hurt me! You destroyed me. You destroyed the boys because you’re selfish! Selfish!’ I throw the photo to the ground and the glass splinters into tiny shards. ‘You!’ Tears fall. ‘You did this. You couldn’t stick it out, so you leave us to deal with it? Is that it?’ My head falls back as I talk to the ceiling.”I don’t know if its refreshing or heartbreaking to feel so in touch with a character as I did with Presley. I felt her grief, her longing, her desperation, her rejection. And when things got better, I felt her joy and her relief. I cheered for her. All of the characters in this book stood out in their own light, for that matter. Great writing, great story, great characters. Awesome book. Then there is this consuming, relentless love between Presley and Zach that just breaks your heart. You can’t help but want these two to find their way back to each other. “Slowly his hands extend toward my arms. As soon as his skin touches mine, a tear falls. I swallow a whimper as his fingers clasp my shoulders. It’s an innocent touch, but it ruins me. Zach doesn’t stop though. He pulls me into this body. He breaks me apart. He puts me together. He’s my poison and my antidote. My arms wrap around his torso without hesitation. We remain like this for who knows how long, but for the first time since Todd killed himself, I feel safe. And that’s not a good thing to feel in Zach’s arms.” This is the kind of love story that makes movies and I would be thrilled to see this one! Please check out my blog to read my entire review. Thanks!

A love so strong❤️
This was an incredible, well written story, which had me hooked from the beginning. I loved Zach and Presley, who were clearly destined to be together, although the sequence of events that broke them apart and brought them back together was heartbreaking and very emotional. Thankfully, there was fun moments and lots of banter in between the sad parts especially from Zach's brother, Wyatt who in my opinion stole the show. My only issue with the story was the ending, which left you wanting more, and the bonus epilogue was a disappointment, as Presley and Zach did not end up having a child together, which contradicted the actual story. It was pretty clear that they wanted kids together as this was a topic of discussion more than once, yet this was all forgotten in the bonus epilogue, which jumps years later. The excuse Presley made was also pretty weak considering the story suggested that them having children together was something important. It was almost as if the writer put the bonus epilogue together and forgot about the discussions between her main characters. If you are just like me and want the ultimate happy ever after, you are not going to get it from this writer. Her stories always leave you wanting more and there is always a little something missing.

I don’t like my heart to hurt
Say You’ll Stay is a book I had been avoiding because of how emotional I heard it was. I don’t like my heart to hurt. But OMG WAS THE PAIN WORTH IT! I am in loooOOOooooove with this book! I am in love with Zach. I mean, really. At this point, how could I not be? He’s not perfect but he knows that!First chapter in and the reader is thrown into some heart heavy scenarios. The poor heroine, Presley, couldn’t catch a break. It was bad news, after bad news, after bad news until she recieved the worst of it. She and her boys had to move back to her parents ranch in her childhood town. The same town that knows every detail of her life (yes, it’s one of those small towns. The kind of town that doesn’t seem real, but you secretly want to live in) and the same town where her first everything is from. For years, she’s been able to avoid the place. Avoided hearing any news about him.But sometimes life has other plans for a person and second chances are very much real.Zach and Presley broke each other’s hearts when they were in college. They are two people who remember the past in different ways, but the pain and heartbreak is very much real. There is so history for Zach and Presley in their past, it’s going to take a lot for them to overcome it.Presley has only loved two men. Both of them left her by choice. And she does’t know if she’s ready to give her heart to the one who shattered it the first time. But she can’t fight that Zach knows her better than anyone and that he gets her on a level no one else has been able to touch. So she’s willing to see where it goes.In secret. She wants them to find their footing in their relationship in private, away from the whispers and watchful of their small town. The same town that treated Zach and Presley like the royal couple back when they were teenagers. Everyone thought they would end up together. So Presley doesn’t want that to effect them now. Because what if Zach leaves again? This book was soooo good. I couldn’t stop reading, even going so far as to sneak in a few paragraphs in between work. My heart was breaking, my feels were exploding, and the pages weren’t turning fast enough. Presley and Zach have been through a lot. Presley especially, and I love how their second chance romance was developed and explored. Because not only were they working for their relationship, but also how Zach fit into the lives of Prelsey’s boys. Her sons were adorable and had me smiling whenever they were on the page. And Zach was so, so, sooo good with them!! Omg, my heart was on overload whenever he was with them. So cute! This book was packed full of emotion. I honestly don’t think there wasn’t an emotion I didn’t feel while reading. It was a breathtaking, heartbreak story of lost love and second chance romances in a small town where everyone is aboard one ship. This was my first Corinne Michaels book but certainly not my last. I need more of her writing (as well as Wyatt’s book. Which you’ll understand when you meet Wyatt!).

Muito bom
Uma história de superação e de como é importante compartilharmos com as pessoas que amamos nossas batalhas. E como o tempo, às vezes, é tudo o que precisamos.

Wow
Presley n Zach are childhood friends and lovers. They part ways, as Zach wants to pursue base ball career n Presley wants to settle down. Later she gets married has kids, but her husband Todd commits suicide and she returns to her parents ranch. There their love is rekindled n they get a second chance for their love. They discover secrets n love each other more. This book puts ur heart thru the wringer. So much emotion that you feel one with each character n can't stop thinking about what will happen next. If you want to read emotional, drama, feisty, love, fun book then go no further, as this is the best book. 5 stars to Corinne Michael.

4.5 ✳️
It's a great story! Mostly you have two moods, you want to cry or laugh. There are a couple of things I didn't like. One is that there are a lot of chapters that could be omitted because they were repetitive, they were. Only about Presley insecurities and fears and whinings. Two, the characters didn't look like they were in their lates thirties, they were behaving as if they were in college. It was sad to read the bonus epilogue, I mean they sure got their hea but not the hea I expected.I can't wait to read about the other 2 Hemmington brothers!

A book to be read for sure
Amazing writing skills for this author. I think I heard about her by Anna Todd I guess, and months later saw a note I wrote down somewhere and decided to give it a shot. This is a book I couldn't put down at night. A book I was looking forward to reading during my breaks. Yes, some scenes must be a bit cliché, but it's well described. You can feel the emotions the characters are going through. If you liked Anna Tood books, or RK Lilley Ones, don't hesitate, buy it.
