Love how realistic this is worked really well in the field with the wind blowing it around giving natural looking turning movement. My only complaint is it isn’t the easiest to blow up in the field would be good if the inflation valve was a little longer.

Heavy duty rubber-like plastic that looks like a gobbler. We use it as decoration for Thanksgiving holiday season. Love watching the dog walkers reaction. They think it’s real. It took me a minute to figure out how to blow it up, the directions are accurate but there are two apparent valves, the one on the bottom pulls out and can be blown up. I used a compressor rather than my mouth. You definitely want to get it warmed up but letting it sit in your house, the thick plastic will be hard to expand if it was sitting in a cold porch or delivery truck.

I've been turkey hunting for most of my life and used my fair share of decoys. As with most products, time allows for great strides in development and refinement. The Zink Avian-X LCD decoys are stunning! I also purchased the "looker" and "feeder" hens to complement this outstanding "strutter" decoy. These decoys are incredibly life-like. The texture of each decoy is what I would describe as "layered." The paint scheme is also next to none, as it produces iridescent detail like real turkey feathers. Furthermore, I initially thought it would be a pain to inflate these decoys, but NOT SO! Several strong breaths of air did the job in nothing flat!The decoy stakes are also very innovative. They remind me of carbon fiber arrows, and are also about the same thickness. Since the stakes fold in half, they should be very easy to carry to/from your next set-up location. Additionally, these stakes are semi-pointed, so they pierce the ground much easier than many others that I have tried and used (that are greater in diameter).I currently have all 3 decoys staked in the back yard to allow the warm sun to remove any minor creases that were evident after removing the decoys from their shipping containers. At the same time, I am also testing the decoys for the amount of "spinning" that occurs when the wind speed increases. I have already discovered how to control their movement by placing a small amount of duct tape on the end of each stake before inserting it into the decoy. It turned out to be an easy solution.Finally, if you want the ultimate in realism for your Avian Strutter, you MUST add a REAL tail fan to complete this amazing impostor. Although this decoy comes with an artificial fabric-type fan, nothing is better than a real turkey fan. Do not fret, however, if you do not currently have a real tail fan. Just simply use the fan that comes with your new decoy, and replace it with the real deal after you harvest your first longbeard this year. One last thing: Do not let the price scare you off if you decide to purchase the whole spread like I did. I had to look outside a few minutes ago just to make sure my new decoys did not walk or fly away!

I love the look and feel of this decoy. I wish I could say that I shot my first turkey with the decoy in the field, but I didn’t.

LOVE this decoy. I use a real fan from a previous harvest. Super easy setup, and goes right back into the carrying bag when you pack up. The stake could be a little more sturdy, however the way it is designed the Tom will rotate, bob, and move with any wind/breeze while you are hunting. I am glad I used it on private ground, because the appearance and movements were so realistic and lifelike, I'm sure it would have been shot at on public land! I used it in combination with 2 other hens, and had toms and (rather stupidly brave) jakes alike run in at first glance. 100% happy with it!!

Excellent detail

Beautiful, realistic looking decoy. Did have trouble blowing it up as the decoy was so compressed i had to use a bicycle pump to get it to begin blowing up. After that it blew up easily with my mouth. Woodbury Outfitters, the company I bought it thru from Amazon has amazing customer service. Product itself was fantastic and I expect nothing less from Avian X Decoys. But I don't know what the hell the seller was doing selling a decoy in a box that looked like it was thrown around a warehouse or someone's basement. So not ideal for me as I bought this as a gift. But seller got to charge full price..
