Although I normally power my Sony FX30 with a SmallRig V-mount battery system, I bought this NP-F970 battery for those occasions when I want to keep my setup smaller and lighter. I use it to power my Portkeys LH5C monitor, and it's been completely reliable.The battery provides excellent runtime, allowing me to use the monitor for extended shooting sessions without worrying about it running flat. Having the monitor powered independently also means I can strip the camera back to a much more compact setup when I'm travelling light or shooting handheld.One feature I particularly like is the built-in USB-C charging. Being able to recharge the battery directly without a separate NP-F charger makes life much easier, especially when travelling. It also means one less charger to carry in my camera bag.Build quality is exactly what I've come to expect from SmallRig. It feels well made, fits the monitor securely and has performed flawlessly since I bought it. I've experienced no unexpected shutdowns or connection issues.My typical setup includes a Sony FX30, Portkeys LH5C monitor, DJI Focus Pro follow focus and Fujinon MK18-55 and MK50-135 T2.9 cine zooms. When I'm using my full cinema rig, the monitor is powered from my V-mount battery. For smaller jobs, however, this NP-F970 is the perfect solution, allowing me to leave the V-mount system at home while still enjoying excellent battery life.If you use an external monitor, LED light or any other NP-F-powered accessory, this is an excellent battery. The combination of long runtime, USB-C charging and solid build quality makes it a great addition to any camera kit.

The SMALLRIG NP-F970 10,500mAh battery has been a game-changer for my setup. I’ve been using it with the Accsoon CineView Nano and my Canon EOS R7/R8—both of which can be pretty power-hungry—and this battery hasn’t missed a beat.The battery life is incredible. These batteries are great & last forever! I own 2 of them and can easily get a day charge out of powering a monitor or my field recorder. Also work as power banks if you need to charge something quickly, would totally recommend.

I was sceptical about buying these due to the cost, however, I am glad I decided to try one.They are bigger than my old NPF-970's but the weight is significantly less which is great! The charging time is far shorter and the output is very good. I used it to power a Shinobi II monitor and FX3 camera all day in bright conditions, by 8PM, the battery still had over 20% remaining.I will definitely by adding another three of these to my kit soon.

This product works great, looks good, and perfectly solved the power issue I was trying to fix with my BMPCC OG and various other peripherals.

I now own a couple of these batteries. Primarily for an external field monitor on top of my camera when I'm shooting video but with the output options you can use it for so many things like charging your phone so can work more or less like a power bank. Great battery capacity with a simple screen on top displaying the remaining capacity. It doesn't give you a breakdown of draw like some of the bigger V mount Smallrig batteries can that I can but this keeps it a little more compact. I haven't got exact time of recharging the battery as I just put it into a GAN wall charger Via USBc but it's quick enough and a lot quicker than some other NPF batteries that have a dedicated charger. With the USBC charging I find it much more flexible and will never be left short as I'll always have a USBC charger/cable with me. The orange casing makes it nice and easy to find although the black version is a little more incognito.The battery often comes up with some pretty good discounts making it even better value but I'd be more than happy to pay full price for a versatile bit of kit.

Invaluable battery accessory with SmallRig quality we have come to expect. Good value for money. USB a and c ports are helpful too.

I have 2 of these.1 to power an Atomos Shogun Ultra on the road. (it’s been really good - and the weight is a bonus as if you’re on a table top, the monitor rests comfortably.)1 to power an Edelkrone HeadPLUS v3. As much as their products can drive me crazy, I’ve probably got about 14-15 hours off one charge using this battery which is overkill for an in-studio setup- but beats running a cable and having to constantly check if it snagged during movement.The light tap of the button to reveal the battery remaining percentage is always welcome.The size giving extra overall power is also very welcome.5/5. I’ll definitely buy more as I need them for other applications.
