## Description

CorrosionX Heavy Duty is for super long-term protection against serious rust and corrosion assault. For those really tough jobs where you need the ultimate protection against moisture, the answer is new CorrosionX Heavy Duty. There is no other product like it on the market today. It is a high performance, thick-film version of CorrosionX. It was developed specifically to provide maximum protection against moisture intrusion and resulting rust and corrosion.

Review: Not sure this thing is superior to Cosmoline - For one thing, for the price of a gallon, you could buy several cases of Cosmoline. The Cosmoline is easier to apply as you can spray it on. Then it dries to a semi-tacky coating where you can handle the part reasonably well. With this stuff, handling the part is a mess, as it's coated with a gooey grease. When I first opened the jug, this CorrosionX HD looks like a liquified Cosmoline: dark molasses brown liquid. Very viscous so you need to brush it on. You could possibly spray it on by either diluting it with solvent or using an undercoating gun. But via the latter method, imagine how long a gallon of this stuff would last - kiss away all those dollar bills. You also have to wonder how good the original CorrosionX is, when you have all these heavier duty versions coming out, e.g., HD, XD, Aviation grade, Max Wax (which is probably their version of Cosmoline).
Review: Great to keep the rust off - I have three trucks and a jeep and four trailers. I spray this underneath my vehicles every year before winter I live in Idaho, where the stuff that they put on the snow and ice to melted rust the vehicle this stuff eliminates the problem.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is a little more expensive than the gallon of 94004. What is the difference/advantage of using this instead; I'd be using this on guns**
A: CorrosionX Heavy Duty is thicker - like a double ought grease. It doesn't creep and penetrate like regular CorrosionX because it so thicker, but it's amazing as a long term corrosion preventative. For guns, you want to use the regular red label CorrosionX (if you're using it as a CLP).

**Q: How often should I reply on my boat trailer. It normally only moves when it is going into salt water to be launched and then gets washed w/ fresh wate**
A: Definitely after the trailer dries after you wash off the salt water. Generally for my nursery equipment exposed to lots of south Florida rain & humidity, I'll spray and the exposed steel stays oily looking for quite a while (months). I also use it on padlocks exposed to weather and it has lasted 6 months.

**Q: Can this be sprayed using a normal garden-style pump-up sprayer? Or is it too thick and needs to be painted on?**
A: CorrosionX Heavy Duty is too thick to spray with a Garden sprayer. You'll need to use a high pressure system like one of our Handi-Spray™ application systems. http://www.corrosionx.com/handi-spray.html If that's more than you want to spend, you might be able to get away with using a Preval sprayer if it's a small job. For larger jobs, I'd definitely go with the Handi-Spray unit. Check out the Belt Pak if you're an individual or the 2.5 or 5 gallon systems for industrial use.

**Q: I'm gonna spray under rv frame will pump up sprayer work or can it be thinned to work**
A: I had no idea that the product was a thick brown goo. It works very well but will not spray well even using a Chemical Guys ACC_121.16HD hand sprayer which is the only hand sprayer I've found that will handle the regular CorrosionX liquid. I'll try cutting it with the regular CorrosionX. I have also used a product called Ezzox - military grade gun oil - I've had this last well over a year outside in South Florida weather on things like Masterlocks and greenhouse metal equipment which have actually fallen apart in a year.
