Fantastic lock…easy, easy, easy is the word of the day
This lock is great. I really like it, and I feel secure using it — which is to say that it functions exactly as I had hoped and expected it to. The fingerprint reader reads very quickly and hasn’t rejected my print once yet. It’s built pretty sturdy, and I think it’ll last a while. It was super simple to install and just as easy to set up. It’s also easy to use and seems to be easy on batteries. I’m always hesitant to talk about battery life on something that uses batteries rather than having a battery built in, bc brand and chemical composition will make your mileage vary. But it seems to “sip” on the batteries, if you will. There’s no connectivity of this lock to your smart home, so don’t expect Alexa or Google Home to see it or “make it go”. I love my Alexa and the myriad of things I connect to her (I love IoT), but I really don’t need to verbally tell her to lock or unlock doors. Besides, to me, that’s a security risk — even in locks with the ability to do this and locks with PIN codes — if someone knows your code, they could just say it loud enough from outside for your smart home device to hear, and open right up, which might get you burglarized…or worse. Anyhow, it’s a fantastic lock, and it hasn’t failed me yet. I give it 5/5 stars.

Definitely a looker and also well worth it for the features!
This door lock was pretty easy to install. You can also download the app and set up users via the app. I set up fingerprints for all in my household and also a code so they could use it if the fingerprint sensor had any issues. One feature I really appreciate is being able to set temporary or guest codes from my phone app for users to be able to unlock this smart lock. The lock is made of high quality materials, never had any issues, and it looks really nice on our door. I'm very pleased with the features this smart door lock provides. I think it was well worth every dollar I spent on it.

Simple, priced well, easy to install; lacking Google or Alexa support
Bottom line: Simple alternative to more expensive locks- especially if you don't need Google Home, Alexa, or Homekit integration. The lack of remote access or the ability to add Who is this for: Ideal for those who either haven't selected a smart home platform/ecosystem to work in or simply don't care to, this lock is mainly for a place you live at, as there aren't many remote access options. You must enroll fingerprints on the lock itself (can't do it in the app) and can only issue one-time PIN codes, not codes with expiration like others (e.g. Lockly). Ease of installation: 5/5 - Excellent Makes you feel like a genius, no matter how (un)technical you are. It just works. Well designed and helpful instructions with quality hardware (e.g. strike plates). Looks: 5/5 - Excellent Looks stylish, minimalistic, and perhaps a little like an angry Cylon when locked. We got the satin nickel and black finish. Versatility: 5/5 - Excellent Want to unlock with a PIN code? Check. How about fingerprints? Yup. How about with a custom PIN for your dogwalker or Uncle Bert? Gotcha covered. How about if it loses power or if you're just old-school? There are two keys for that. Integrations: 0/5 The only major negative of this lock is it does not work with Google Home, Alexa, or Apple Homekit. So you do have to use the Philips app to set it up, but the app is easy to use. The Competition: Another good option is the Lockly Secure Pro, but its setup is a little less intuitive in the app and the overall cost of ownership is higher. It is a very robust solution though, which I recommend for rental homes. Worst: Yale x Nest (which is the worst because it makes you start over repeatedly, and use two different apps to make it work - the Nest app and the Google Home app). Oh, and if you get the bug where it eats batteries in 2 days instead of 3 months, you're just earned an expensive paperweight.

Very Feature Rich Lock for price ($125)
Overall would absolutely recommend - very good product at very reasonable price! Why 4 star not 5: -------------------- This is the first deadbolt / smart lock I have installed - so maybe this isn't fair. I thought the lock would be more "substantial" and robust. The build quality was good (parts fit together well and was well designed) just didn't impress me as a "strong" deadbolt for security. Also - when installing the deadbolt mechanism (into side of door) - the provided black screw head broke off - leaving one of the two mounting holes unuseable (Phillips - please don't skimp on screw quality). Few Thoughts After Install: ------------------------------ 1. PLEASE - use the excellent videos from Ideaspace on the Amazon website (this product page - Product Details Section - Videos)!!! (Philips 4000 series Installation Steps https://www.amazon.com/vdp/04a61d61cfd4438db1cc20bc5349d95b?ref=ive_share_mshop_detail). So much more consistent with actual product, accurate and clearer then the paper manual and/or the Philips installation videos you land on when scanning the QR code in paper manual. Also wish they would have numbered the screws to know what screws go where ! 2. Didn't use "top" optional screw but think should have !!!! This is the option where have to drill a new hole thru the door, to have another attachment point between the lock front and back (of door) assembly. This should "strengthen" the assembly and maybe assuage my fears. 3. Functionality: All the functionality seemed to work extremely well and very happy with app. Why did I pick this lock: --------------------------- 1. Quality Company: I picked this lock since was from a reputable company (Philips), had every feature I wanted, and at an excellent price!! 2. Battery Life: Just as import, the claimed battery life was among the best for any non-matter/thread. Think this is huge!! I don't want to change batteries every 3 or 4 months typical of wifi locks. Estimated battery life is 8 months. This is a bluetooth lock (meaning only wireless connection at the lock is bluetooth) which is much less energy hungry than wifi. But - you still can see status/unlock remote due to the included wifi bridge. Since the wifi bridge is plugged into an outlet (near the lock), the power hungry wifi is handled by this bridge (using outlet power), not draining the batteries on the lock!!! Yes, Matter enabled (with thread) will also have excellent battery life but locks where much more expensive and JUST being released when purchasing this lock. 3. All the features I needed: Wanted pin codes that could change remotely, be able to see status of door (included door sensor), lock/unlock door remotely, and easy to get in when local at the lock (fingerprint). Conclusion: ------------ Don't think you can beat for the money!!! Will update this review as get more experience with the lock and install the "top" screw for more rigidity!! Hope helps!!!

If you're frustrated with other brands of keyless entry try this!
I've waited a few months before reviewing because I had another brand keyless entry that was cheaper and had so many problems with that brand (and the other brand wasn't exactly cheap). I can say after using this multiple times a day over the last months the fingerprint scanner is absolutely excellent. The only issues I've had scanning was when I had something obscuring my print (like over spray from paint etc). A visiting friend used the touch pad with no problem but honestly we haven't had to use it yet because the print scanner just simply works. Another thing we love that I thought was a gimmick: the magnet that tells you on the app if the door is open. This isn't a sensor for when the door is just unlocked it literally tells you that the door is ajar etc. I thought this would be a glitchy gimmick but even testing it by almost closing the door (but not fully closing it leaving a tiny crack) the sensor knows it's not aligned and says the door is open. We use the wifi to check on the app if the doors are unlocked before bed and you can press a button to lock them. You can have the app push you a message every time the lock in unlocked (whether manually or by fingerprint or code). You can customize the app so you get a many or as few notifications as you want, and thank god the app has yet to send us a "are you interested in this upgrade deal this month?' or any nonsense. I'm old school and I don't want an app for my refrigerator or lawnmower but in this instance I like having the app, the info, and being able to lock a door I forgot from across town. I've bought two so far and I'm going to get 2 more for "seldom used" doors just because it's so handy. If you already have a deadbolt spot then installation is going to be a breeze, since I was replacing a similar sized off brand it took me less than 10 mins per lock since it was just a swap. Battery life so far is good, and the app will show you how much life is left. Cost more than other brands and 1000% worth it after struggling with another brand for almost a year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I will but this again
Easy installation. Fingerprint access is easy to setup. Like setting it up with your phone. Connects to wireless network without any problems. Easy to add access using the app. What I don't like is the fingerprint on the keypad. Had to wipe it everyday. Hope they make something that is fingerprint resistant.

Solid smart lock with great potential, but the app needs work
We installed this Philips smart lock back in November 2024, and after six months of daily use, it’s been a mostly positive experience. The lock itself is reliable and the battery life is impressive—still running strong on the original set of batteries six months in. The fingerprint reader is quick and convenient, but works best with dry fingers. If your hand is damp, you might have to try more than once. For locking up when leaving, you can either trust the auto-lock (which can be a little inconsistent) or press and hold any number on the keypad to lock it manually, no need to punch in a PIN to lock it. It does have a physical key option with a hidden keyhole, which is a nice backup to have just in case. Now for the downsides: the app experience really needs improvement. It frequently logs itself out, which is frustrating—especially when you need access in a hurry. That said, the app does make it simple to assign permanent or temporary PINs, which is super helpful for giving access to guests or service people. As for Google Home integration... it's hit or miss. Sometimes it links and works perfectly. Other times, Google Home acts like it's never seen the device before and you have to relink everything from scratch. It’s unpredictable and a little annoying. The auto-lock feature could also use some fine-tuning. It occasionally locks itself while we’re still home, seemingly without reason. Thankfully, we haven’t had any instances of it unlocking on its own. Bottom line: the hardware is solid, the core functionality is dependable, and it absolutely adds convenience to our home. Once the app and smart home integration are polished up, this could be one of the better smart locks on the market.

DIY or DIE
Requires some DIY know-how. You’ll likely have to tinker a bit, drill some pilot holes, chisel out a channel for the latch bolt, extend the latch as needed. A dremel, drill and driver will be helpful. Have a good set of bits on hand. This is an hour or two install. Programming of the device with passcodes, fingerprints and linking the door sensor is a breeze. The app works well and I like the ability to use a physical key if needed. Philips uses a high-security lock cylinder that’s designed to resist sophisticated picking techniques and require a long unlocking time—over 270 minutes according to tests. It’s a quality lock and worth the price - just a shame it’s not integrated with Apple HomeKit.

Great upgrade to my front door - about of convenience and flexibility plus fallback to the key option is incredible. From finger print to wifi access, everything works well.
