Emptied our hot tub quickly
Having read the reviews I went for the Foting 900w submersible pump. I was looking for something to empty our hot tub every couple of months, which wasn’t hugely expensive, or big to store. I also wanted something which didn’t take forever to set up, and wasn’t complicated to use!I wasn’t disappointed, this did the job perfectly. It arrived quickly, and I was surprised at the weight of the pump, its heavy. But feels robust which is good. One small thing to note is that it doesn’t come with a hose, so you will need to buy this separately. I went for a 32mm flat pipe at around £14.99 for 10m and this worked perfectly.Once you’ve attached the hose, you simply plug it in, lower it into the water, and the pump starts. I did have to give it a wiggle to get it going but once we were off I was able to leave it to do the job. Took about 15 minutes to empty our hot tub which I was happy with. Everything then fitted neatly back in the box ready for next time. The only thing I would say is there was probably about 6cm of water left in the tub which I couldn’t get it to pump away. Wasn’t an issue for me, but may be if you wanted the water completely gone. Wasn’t overly noisy, and the dog thought it was a great game!

Excellent for what I need it for
Used to empty 2.5mx1.5m foldable pool which holds reasonable amount of water for 2 adults and two children. Used in manual mode as this was easiest, and pool was emptied in 20 minutes, takes about 50 minutes to fill up properly. Used with pvc hose as these don't kink compared to flat hoses and you can see the power and speed at which it works. In testing it can lift water about 3 metres high, which is way more than I need. Power cable is very long which is helpful and extension was hardly needed. Easy to use and for my needs a good bit of kit and value for money. I can see the pump is versatile and could easily be used for more demanding tasks if needed.

Game changer
I am absolutely thrilled with this submersible pump. I have a 12ft round swimming pool that’s 1 meter deep and it drained the whole lot (9,000) litres in just over an hour. Prior to buying this we’d been siphoning through a hose taking 10 hours. I originally bought a 1 inch flat hose for it but on my first use I wasn’t overly impressed as it seemed to take ages but it wasn’t the pump machine itself it was the the flat hose that was kinking because I’d not thought it through properly and the hose was no good for emptying the pool as it’s not a straight line from pool to my drain and involved a few curves which caused the hose to kink which then caused the pump to not work to its full potential. However today I have bought a 1.25 corrugated flexi hose and attached that to the pump and wow it’s an absolutely game changer 😁

Not enough pressure (not consistent).
I bought this pump with the hope of clearing some flooding in the field next to my house. This means running a 5m hose from the pump, over a track to a waterway for run off. Tied the pump up (along with the float so it would work) and led the recommended 25mm hose over the track to the water. The pump was running, but the pressure was so low it would not take the water from the field up a very slight incline. Also, the hose is rubber and the inside flat and sticky upon opening. This means pressure is needed to 'open' up the hose. The pump didn't produce enough pressure to do this. Attempted to open the hose manually and even tested the pump in the sink just to check, but again it did not produce enough pressure. When in the sink and running for about 30 seconds the pump would occasionally blast water at a much higher pressure (which was massively inconvenient in the house) but this didn't seem to happen when the hose was attached and appeared to be random.Either the pump is faulty or it requires some time running before the pressure builds up. Either way, it was not enough to even move the water along the hose and unfortunately is not useful to me.It might work with a lighter, thinner walled hose but I needed a durable hose as people occasionally drive along the track so I needed the hose to survive being run over.Might be suitable for slowly emptying hot tubs and other such things with another type of hose but not suitable for clearing flood water. As a side note, the instructions are simple, but as they are 'Engrish' I am glad they are simple!

Quality Water Pump
I don't use it that often, but when I do, it does a quality job. With hindsight, I would buy again.

8 month life span
I bought this pump 8mths ago and it looked sturdy, was easy to install and has worked well all that time without maintenance. Then it suddenly started tripping the breaker. The website has no contacts, no customer service, help desk or really any point of contact. The label on the bottom of the pump has a Chinese address in a village in Zhejiang, an address in Las Vegas, USA and another one in Portsmouth, UK. At this point since I cannot fix it, the manufacturer and supplier have no advertised mechanism for questions of this kind or offer repairs, I sadly have to discard it to landfill and get something else.
