John NettlesMidsomer Murders - Death in A Chocolate Box [DVD]

Initially I thought this would not be very good,but in fact it was a really good episode of a mix of Ex Convicts turned good,a gallant Lord who went a bit too far Romancing!!......and the final twist,well you will have to watch it yourself as that was the best of all.Pretty gruesome was the best suited word for the murders but that is Chief Inspector Barnaby for you.I am finding that the single used episodes that you can buy quite cheaply,are better than many of the more expensive examples of series I also have.It was all a bit spooky,you know nigh time,owl hooting time etc., but that just adds some flavour doesn't it.I do love them all really!

I enjoyed this installment and was so glad to see Edward Peterbridge (probably misspelled) playing such a wonderful part. The actors who take roles in this series are just top of the line. The little hut with the equipment that made it a sort of telescope of the village was terrific, love that idea.This mystery series is so great, I wish we still got in the USA. I have 13 episodes now of my on and looking forward to the next two that should be shipped to me this month.

A case becomes personal for Barnaby when his old friend and colleague, Jack Colby, is forced to crash his car and then bludgeoned to death. The case brings back memories for Midsomer Holm's villagers, as the wife of Lord Holm was killed in a similar fashion sixteen years ago. Lord Holm was arrestd and convicted for his wifes murder. Is he guilty of this latest attack? Or is someone trying to incriminate him?This is a truly brilliant episode, similar in style to the older stories, when quality mattered over quantity. Superbly acted and with twists galore, i doubt anyone will be disappointed. There's a very dark and sinister edge to it as we realise peoples lives are being sacrificed for the sake of a particularly ruthless killer.Highly recommended. More like this please.
