Great quality and great taste organic black mustard seeds! Wonderful addition to all cuisines (and skincare routines!)
Indian food is my all-time favorite food in the world! So far, anyway...and black mustard seeds are commonly used in many parts of India not only for taste, but because they aid with digestion, prevent gas, and help prevent inflammation. Plus...I also just love mustard...all mustard...of all kinds! Mustard seeds are very small, being only slightly larger than poppy seeds, or about one-fifth of the size of a pea. Whichever is easier for you to imagine... So at 7 oz, this is a generously sized bag that should last a while, whether you are: cooking with these, making 'black' mustard (yes, you can!), infusing them into a scalp oil (great for increasing circulation in the area of application), using them in a bath sachet (mustard stimulates the pores, is deeply cleansing, and aids in relaxation in baths), drinking it in a savory broth with other inflammatories such as turmeric and black pepper, making a black mustard vinaigrette for salads (yum!), etc. The price (around $8 at the time of this review) is also decent considering these seeds are organic, they were still super fresh (freshly dried) upon opening, and the taste is incredibly robust - not stale or weak at all. I transferred these from the bag to a vacuum seal, tinted glass mason jar to keep oxygen and light away from the seeds, and labeled the jar with the date purchased, date opened, and suggested use by date. I keep it stored in a cool, dark area. If you want a simpler storage suggestion/solution, just make sure you squeeze as much air as possible out the the bag every time you close it (the bag is resealable!), make sure the seal is completely intact, and store in the refrigerator, freezer, or a dark, cool cabinet.
