Lucky Bamboo can be given for luck and to light up the future. Also, certain numbers of stems are given for luck in specific areas, such as health, harmony, prosperity, advancement in business, etc. Lucky Bamboo works almost anywhere in the home; on a desk, windowsill, kitchen counter or bathroom vanity. Although they are called bamboo, these easy-to-grow plants are members of the dracaena family. Lucky Bamboo can also be grown directly in water without soil. The height at delivery is approximately 6 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. The Lucky Bamboo is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 9 or higher. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. Plants are living things; each one is slightly different, so the plant you receive may vary from the photo. Review: Healthy and Pretty Plant! - I bought a bamboo plant a year ago, and despite it coming in great condition she unfortunately did die. I’m assuming it was something i did because she looked vibrant and healthy when she arrived and I'm not really a plant person and she declined steadily over time. Despite my inexperience with plants she lived for a year. I ordered a new one a few days ago, this one came a little shorter, but braided. So hopefully i can keep her alive this time! Shipping was great and their plants seem to be packaged securely, of the three plants I’ve gotten (two bamboo and a money tree) all have been very healthy when they arrived! The great news is even if the box is jostled during transit it’s packaged so soundly that the plant is kept safe. Highly recommend, from my experience and from what i can parse in the other reviews, if it isn’t braided it’s taller, the braided varietals seem to be a bit shorter but it’s always a beautiful arrangement regardless!

Below we have some basic care for your plant:
Direct sunlight can burn the leaves of most plants unless the plant has been acclimated slowly to that type of light. It is best to place the plant in a spot that receives some morning sun but light afternoon shade. Ideal places are a window with a sheer curtain, a patio with a screen, or other similar areas.
It is recommended to water the plant once every 7 to 10 days and adjust for your environment as needed. The soil takes longer to dry in cooler temperatures and dries out quicker in warmer temperatures. Be sure to water the plant thoroughly enough that water begins to drain from the drainage hole. Always check to see if the soil is dry about 2 inches deep with your finger before watering. Do not let the plant sit in any standing water for an extended amount of time. It is possible that while the top part of the soil is drying out that the bottom can still retain moisture. This can lead to accidental overwatering. You can check farther into the soil with a wooden bamboo skewer (or use a plant moisture meter). Simply place the skewer as deeply as you can and let it sit for about 15 minutes or so. Pull the skewer out and check for any dampness on the wooden skewer. If the skewer is damp, the soil is still moist farther into the pot. While misting the leaves is great and helps prevent pests, be sure the water isn't sitting on leaves. Standing water on the leaves can create a disease and lead to browning. Keep the plant in warm temperatures, above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep away from drafts that can be caused by windows, AC or Heat units, entryways, etc. We hope this information helps!

I ordered the first bamboo plant a couple of months ago. It came looking pretty tough, with brown leaves. This is unreturnable. So, I ordered a second one, thinking the first one was a fluke. I was wrong. It also looks pretty tough and even had a stalk that was dying and eventually died. . I have four bonsai trees, one I have had for several years. They all look very healthy and green, and constantly getting new leaves. I say this because I should be able to also raise bamboo. Just be advised that bamboo plants might not arrive healthy, and may not recover. And, it cannot be returned or refunded.
