The ball end provides just enough wiggle room in difficult places to tighten or untighten hex (Allen) fasteners without taking a toll on your knuckles. These days it seems like nearly all bikes, electronics, appliances, furniture, and even vehicle parts use hex fasteners. Except for maybe a phillips screwdriver, I seem to have these in my hand more than any other hand tool. Not exaggerating, I have ordered the entire EKLIND product line.
