Previously, I had a couple of pairs of Keen Targhee hiking shoes that were great and waterproof, but quite heavy. They were great for longer hikes, or in wet environments, but overkill for ~5-mile day hikes in dry California weather. I was also pleasantly surprised by the fit. I expected them to be a bit small, and I almost ordered a wide version. I'm glad I didn't. The normal-width shoes I received have plenty of room in the toe, and the toe box is plenty wide. In other words, these shoes run a bit large, which worked out perfectly for me. I've only used these shoes a couple of times, so time will tell how well they hold up. That said, I'm very impressed so far by the quality and comfort of these shoes.

Good quality shoe, larger-sized toe box. Padded toungue and with the thick breathable fabric layers-these feel like slippers. The heels are narrow in comparison to most hikers, so I’m not sold on ankle stability-but overall a very comfortable shoe. Easy to fit my thick prostep inserts into these
