High quality case makes for a returning customer
I just upgraded from the 4th Gen iPad Air to the 7th Gen iPad Pro. I’ve had the iPad Air for the better part of 5 years, and have had this same case on it since day one. When I got the new iPad Pro, I didn’t bother shopping around for cases. I’ve been so beyond satisfied with the first one I purchased, that I knew I wanted the exact same one for my new iPad. If you’re looking for a high quality, minimal case, look no further. You will not find a better case for the price. In the years I’ve spent with the first one, I’ve never found myself wishing I had purchased something else. You get the same premium look and feel of the Apple folio case (which mind you, is 4x the price of this one) with the added benefit of the magnetic clasp that helps keep the pencil securely in place. Keep in mind that this is a borderless case, so don’t expect any sort of drop protection; but if like me, you use the iPad for work, school, or casual media viewing at home, this is a great case that will protect your investment from the day to day wear and tear of setting it down, transporting it in your bag etcetera. The magnets are strong, and it’s very steady when used as a stand. I often use sidecar with my iPad to extend the screen of my MacBook, and this case pairs great with that. The material feels great in the hands too. My original case (shown in the pictures) stood the test of time well. There is no part of it that has degraded or come apart in any way. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate even for a moment to recommend this case to anyone looking for a practical and economical way to protect their iPad, while preserving the beauty of it’s design.

Stylish, Protective, and Perfect Fit!
I’m really impressed with this iPad case! The quality feels premium, sturdy on the outside but soft on the inside to protect the screen. The magnetic cover works perfectly for auto sleep/wake, and it folds easily into a stable stand for watching videos or typing. I also love the built-in Apple Pencil holder, it’s so convenient and keeps everything secure. Overall, this case looks sleek, feels durable, and gives my iPad a professional look. Definitely worth it!

Gray case. Been using it for over 2 years.
This has been a great case. I bought mine in 2024 when I bought the 13 inch iPad Pro. This case has been used exclusively with the iPad since then. My only complaint with it is it does add weight. But the flap holds the pencil and I love that. And it’s healthy up well. No problems have developed. No cracks. IRS dirty obviously but cleans well. It’s been great.

Nice case with a slight design flaw
New Review: Recently bought another ESR iPad case for a 13" M4 iPad Pro. (Amazon only allows me to edit previous reviews, so I kept that original one further below from a few years ago). I’ve found there's a small design flaw when attaching the Apple Pencil. Because of the newer iPads being so thin, the Apple Pencil bulges a bit more than previous iPads. This in turn will (sometimes) cause the ESR cover not to close properly and activate the Lock/Unlock function. Without the Pencil it works fine. If the front cover closes, you can sort of peek a little by slightly lifting the cover and realize the iPad screen never went to sleep with the Pencil attached. The workaround is to Lock the iPad screen before closing the cover ONLY when the Pencil is attached. Is this a dealbreaker? Considering how much Apple charges for theirs, I'd say no. But it is a pesky flaw that can be fixed is the case was about a millimeter shorter, allowing for the Pencil to be seated without interference. That all said, I generally like this case. It looks I and adds some weight which I think is a good thing for stability, though it defeats the purpose of a light iPad. Finally. A note about some of the reviews here. The magnet arrangement on the M4 and M5 are different than the previous generations. So weak magnets or such (may) be due to ESR shipping a previous generation case? I have no idea, but it’s a guess. Also. Some say that the case won’t be stable when folded, are you sure you’re folding it right? I’ve seen people folding the “triangle” in the wrong direction over the years and it of course is unstable. Fold inward! Previous review from a different case years ago: All in all I like this slim case. While it doesn’t offer really any protection like some hard case, it does provide a bit more than apples standard folio at a third of the price. The pencil is covered with it’s own flap pretty much guaranteeing you won’t lose it in transit. That said, my only complaint is that it’s awkward removing the iPad from the case, something I do often to reduce bulk. Opening the flap for the pencil is always an adventure using one’s fingernails. If the flap had a small loose piece of fabric affixed to it, one could use that to open the flap. But that would take away the sleek look of the case. The iPad is somewhat similar in this regard. The magnets are solid which I appreciate but it also makes for an awkward frequent removal. I suspect most will simply keep it in the case most of the time. All in all. A good case and purchased with a very slight discount from a YouTube affiliate link.

Perfect price but two points of inconvenience
*Update in April 2026* - very good customer service rep reached out quickly after I had the issue, and issued not only a replacement but also a refund. Their customer service is still the best and I appreciate them reaching out quickly to help me. The replacement unit had no issue adhering to the back at all, so I must've gotten a faulty initial product. I’ve been using various ESR cases since my very first iPad more than a decade ago, so was excited to make my latest ESR buy for my iPad Pro. The design is smart and light for the rebound series, with two inconveniences. First, the back of the case at the camera unit angles up and leaves a gap between the back of the iPad and the case. There should be a magnet near the camera part for better fit. This was not the case for my previous ESR case. Also the cover extends just a bit over the edge of the case, making the pencil roll off easily when trying to secure the flap. It is a shame for this product because the price point is ideal and the quality is otherwise great and no issue accessing buttons. The product did come with ESR’s easy replacement with no return needed policy for item doesn’t fit or work properly, which is this case. I’ll be reaching out for a replacement and hope it work better.

Sleek, yet protective case.
I’ve been looking for a new case after my Otterbox did not satisfy me. Finally bit the bullet and bought this, and I have never looked back. I love the way the Apple Pencil is secured into the case, not like other cases and very discreet when using the iPad. I use mine for sheet music, and I love that it’s MagSafe so it’s very thin. Material is nice, and I trust my iPad is protected. Magnets are super strong as well.

Solid Case - Apple Pencil Protection
I have had multiple iPads over the years and have always bought Apple folio cases. These cases were fine pre-Apple Pencil, but since the Apple Pencil has become something I can’t live without, I’ve been incredibly irritated by knocking the darn thing off my iPad when putting it into a bag or simply carrying it around. The number of times I've had to rescue my Apple Pencil from the bottom of my laptop bag or retrieve it after it rolled under my bed is absurd. I don't know why I didn't look for a case with a flap closure before now, but here we are. Enter this ESR case. I wish I had gotten this sooner and not wasted my money on the Apple-branded folio. This case feels luxurious and attaches to my 13” iPad Pro like a champ. The magnets holding the iPad in place are super strong, and the magnetic flap closure is very secure. This case protects my iPad and keeps Apple pencil from getting lost. Then, the magnetic flap flawlessly folds back and out of the way when using my iPad. I was so shocked by the quality that I had my husband close his eyes, and I handed him the Apple and ESR folios. When asked which one felt more expensive, he picked the ESR folio. After opening his eyes, I asked him which one looked more expensive, and he picked the ESR folio again. He was shocked that the Apple folio felt so cheap in comparison. ESR was the clear winner, and it's 1/4 of the price! I’ve only had this ESR folio for about a week, but so far, it’s hands down the best iPad folio I’ve ever owned. I will update my review if anything changes as I use it, but I think I can safely say I’ve found a winner when it comes to iPad folio cases.

Absolutely perfect, minimalist, screen protection only folio
I mostly use a Magic Keyboard case, but also wanted a folio case for when I am traveling with a MacBook and mostly just using my iPad for reading, notes, sidecar or Logic Remote. This is what I did with my old iPad Pro too, but the folio case I had to back then was nowhere near as nice as this one. I love that the case magnetically attaches and is so easy to remove, and requires no stress be put on the (insanely thin) tablet in order to do so - not something I can say for all cases! The magnetic strength seems high enough that I won’t worry about it. I just can’t overstate how nice it is to just pull this case off quickly and slap my tablet onto the Magic Keyboard case or magnetic mount that I also use with my iPad. I also like the material, which has more of a soft touch silicone feel instead of that horrible imitation leather that a lot use, it feels like it could be an official accessory, and like it will clean up good (which is good, because I got the white!). I’ll also mention here that the thing is very light and thin, and allows the iPad to still maintain its sleek, slender appeal and not take up much room in your bags. The little magnetic flap is surprisingly effective at keeping the cover closed and the pencil secured in charging position along the edge of the tablet. I also like how well it keeps the cover folder behind the iPad when it’s open - unlike other folio cases I’ve used, I can forget that it’s there, instead of constantly fumbling the flappy back edges in my hands while reading. Of course, the big trade off of minimalism with any kind of case is that the protection is limited. In this case, you get zero corner drop protection, and you’ll also need to be case of things scratching the exposed edges in your bag. Also, the case being so thin and light means that it’s not really anything that’s substantial enough help protect the iPad from being bent (from being sat on, or something crushing it in a bag). None of these things are a big concern for me though, based on my usage and how I transport it.

A nice and slim case that can securely hold your Apple Pencil.
Pros: - Slim and sleek - Nice material, outside feels smooth and inside is soft. Very similar to the official case in quality. - The flap keeps the Apple Pencil in place, a great feature you won’t find elsewhere, especially on the official case. - Grey colour matches well with the Silver iPad Pro - Holds the iPad securely with the magnets but you can still take the iPad off quickly when needed. Cons: - I wish ESR will make a case like the Magic Keyboard but just without the keyboard. This way, the front of the cover is resting on the table rather than the inside of the cover which can get dirty. I know they have one similar to this idea but it doesn’t use magnets to hold the iPad in place and instead, covers the iPad completely which is heavy and bulky. Tested on an iPad Pro 12.9 2021 Model.

Justo lo que necesitaba.
Perfecto para el iPad cuando no vas a utilizarlo con el techado. Protege bien y no pesa, y el Pencil no se cae. Lo tengo hace meses, y está como nuevo. Me gusta mucho.
