Molly's Aroid Potting Mix, Chunky Soil-Free for Indoor Plants, 3 Dry Quarts

Love this soil so much! I have mostly aroids, so I’m slowly transitioning all of them to this mix. It is the perfect chunky soil mix! Mixed with a good fertilizer and my plants are thriving.

My Mom recommended this to me (she also gifted me all of my plants, I wouldn’t have ever thought to buy them myself tbh, but now it’s a minor hobby of mine while at home). This stuff is really versatile, and can be used for a huge range of plants (especially if you combine it with other materials), although it is best for tropical plants that need aerated substrate but also need to be able to retain SOME water and be soil-like still (as opposed to pure orchid bark, moss or similar stuff). It’s very aerated and hard to over water; it drains well. I had a money tree that was dying of root rot back when I didn’t know what I was doing, and I repotted it with this soil and the tree came back a within a week or two. I probably won’t ever use a different mix for my monstera albo or money trees, I like this stuff. It looks and behaves like a chunky soil, so it’s easy to repot with (the plant won’t fall over when it’s dry like with orchid bark, for example). I’ve also checked my pH on my monstera with this and it’s neutral to slightly acidic, so it’s good to go. Like I said though, it somewhat resembles normal soil (albeit much chunkier) so when you use it, it will make a mess and get things dirty as opposed to orchid bark or something. So plan accordingly when replanting inside or whatever. Good stuff and very good value for the price IMO.

My nearly dead Alocasia was repotted from its 2 inch nursery pot into a larger one using this mix and it’s super CHUNKY. But that’s what they love as you might know. It’s thriving and pushing new leaves out. Would likely buy again if I didn’t make my own mix.

This was pricey, but it has to be the best aroid mix I’ve used! The appearance of it was just amazing. Will buy again.

I’m giving this 4 stars as a soil amendment only. This is in no way a complete soil replacement, unless you want to be a slave to watering.

I love it. I repotted 9 plants with it so far. All are doing fine. Excellent drainage and the perfect amount of water retention in the mixture. It looks good in the pot also. None of my plants are Aroids and they are thriving. I'm going to transition all of my plants.

I bought a plant that was in regular soil and it immediately started to go downhill. I tried changing it to leca but it still kept losing leaves. Molly's mix was my last attempt to save it as the last leaf started to turn brown on the tip. It's been a couple weeks and I'm now seeing new growth! I'm sold!!

I use it to mix in with my pro mix soil for some of my flowers and it works good. A bit on the expensive side, for what you get
