The Best Budget-Friendly "Daily" Charger
The Pros: High-End Convenience The "Magic" Button: The biggest win here is the wireless button on the NACS connector. It works exactly like the official Tesla charger to pop the charge port door. It sounds like a small thing, but when you’re coming home after a long shift or trying to plug in during a Marysville rainstorm, not having to pull out your phone or open the car door is a huge plus. Sturdy Build: Being a CNC machinist, I have a low tolerance for "cheap-feeling" plastic. This unit actually feels heavy-duty. The 25ft cable uses high-conductivity copper and a TPE flame-retardant jacket that feels like it can handle being dragged around a garage or used outdoors. Versatility: The dual-voltage support is perfect for travel. The included NEMA 5-15 adapter is great for a slow "trickle" charge when visiting friends, while the NEMA 6-20 plug gives you a decent Level 2 boost at home without needing a massive 50A circuit upgrade. The Cons: The Speed Ceiling 16A Limitation: This is the main "catch." While it’s a Level 2 charger, it’s capped at 16 Amps (approx. 3.8 kW). For comparison, the Tesla Mobile Connector can hit 32 Amps (7.7 kW) with the right adapter. Charging Time: On a Model Y Long Range, you’re looking at about 14–16 miles of range per hour. If you come home with a near-dead battery, a full charge will take nearly 20 hours. It’s perfect for topping off daily commutes, but if you’re a heavy driver, it might feel sluggish. Certification Nuance: The materials (like the jacket and internal wiring) are UL-rated, but the entire unit lacks a full UL/ETL "Whole Device" listing. For a budget brand, this is common, but it’s something to consider if you plan on running it at max load 24/7 for years. Final Verdict If you need a reliable home charger for a standard daily commute (50–60 miles) or a high-quality backup for road trips, this SEGUMA unit is a no-brainer. It "just works" and feels much more premium than its price suggests. However, if you have a massive commute and need to go from 0 to 100% in a single 8-hour sleep, you’ll want to stick with a 32A or 48A hardwired station.

Solid choice for a portable level 1 back-up charger (haven't tested level 2.)
No problems with this charger so far. It defaults to 16 A on a 120V circuit, which is good if your circuit is on a 20A breaker, as many are. This allows the maximum charging speed that should be supported on such a circuit. Unfortunately, my circuit is only on a 15A breaker. I can manually change the maximum current to 12 A in my car or on the Tesla app, but, even if I don't, it starts to charge at 16 A, then automatically reduces to 12 A soon after. From there, it continues charging flawlessly, at least on a 120 V circuit. I haven't had a chance to try this as a level 2 charger (220V circuit) yet, but I bought it primarily to use as a backup to keep in my car for cases where a level 2 wasn't available and also to use until I got the permanent level 2 charger installed in my garage. It worked perfectly for the latter, though it does, of course, take a long time to charge at level 1 speeds (which is normal and not at all the fault of this charger.) With the included carry bag, this fits well in the shallow forward cargo well of my 2025 (pre-Juniper) Model Y, which seems to be a very convenient and out-of-the-way spot to store it in my car. Attached picture shows it in this well in its carry bag. The long cable is certainly handy, allowing it to reach outlets pretty far from the car's charge port. Charger, plug, and cable have always been cool to the touch while charging, even when charging has been ongoing for several hours, though, again, I've only tested this at level 1 charge speeds. No problems with build quality. The button on the handle reliably opens the charge port on my Model Y... actually more reliably than the one on my Tesla Wall Charger does.

Warning
Purchased October 2024. Worked great till this morning I received a notification that my car wasn’t charging. I checked were it was plugged and smelled like something was burning. I noticed the plug was hot and saw smoke coming out of the connector as I unplugged it.

This works effortlessly right out of the box to charge my 2026 Model 3 Tesla AWD Premium!
This works effortlessly right out of the box to charge my 2026 Model 3 Tesla AWD Premium. Cord Length is 25ft, charging speed is standard, portability and ease of use are all pluses. The Charging will work off of the provided adapter from a regular home electric Wall Outlet (which pulls 12-15 amps at 120volts) in older homes with basic circuits. A standard Home "Electric" Dryer Outlet in a modern home (pulls 30 amps at 240 volts) and need the dedicated 30A/240V circuit because they draw significantly more power than 120v outlets. Gas Dryers usually only have a standard 120V 15/20A outlet plus the Gas line. If you do not have a higher Amperage outlet to charge your electric vehicle like I do from my garage, the standard adapter that comes with this charger will work just fine and use about as much electricity as your refrigerator. You probably will not even notice a change in your electric bill. It costs virtually nothing to charge at home. So far I have charged only my Tesla Model 3 at home using this charger in a standard electrical outlet. So far, I spent a total of $40.00 or 217 kWh and added 635 miles to a fully charged vehicle from the Dealer. The gas equivalent would be $106.00 and would not drive a gas powered car anywhere near 635 miles. You can find this information under charging stats in your Tesla App. I hope this review was helpful.

Not good for regular/frequent charging.
This product takes over 20 hours to charge a Model Y.
