Corsair RMx Series, RM750x, 750W, Fully Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS Gold Certified, 10 year warranty

This review is based on the Corsair RM Series 750 Watt ATX/EPS 80PLUS Gold-Certified Power Supply (CP-9020055-NA RM750) I have bought this power supply after my friend recommended it to me for use in my custom gaming computer. So far I am not having any issues with it, and I would recommend this if you're into quietness, and performance. This review will cover several aspects of this device such as Noise Level, Design, Quality, and Support! First off is the Noise Level. The Corsair RM 750 Watt 80plus Gold Power Supply Unit is very quiet. I'm using around 377 watts, according to PC Part Picker. This PSU unit is a must if you want a build for quietness because it has a Zero RPM Fan Mode. This occurs when your not using a big load on the unit. The design of this PSU works for me. It's fully modular, which means you don't have any wires coming out from the back. You can choose what cables you want in the case and it's great for better air flow. This is the main reason why I choose this model. All of the cables work with my build and they work fine. Corsair uses quality products in all of their products. This is the reason why I'm stuck with them. The RM750 has high quality transformers and capacitors which means for starters, you won't hear any noise coming from the unit its self. It delivers clean, and stable power. I am using an APC UPS for backup power because in my area, blackouts are often. I can run my 377 watt system fine from the UPS for 45 minutes. I have yet to contact Corsair's support team because the power supply works great for what I need! While I was looking through reviews they seemed very good. I'm pretty sure you won't have to call them, or Amazon when you buy this product. So in conclusion, this product is a plus, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable, and efficient power supply!

I switched to this power supply because my SFX power supply from Silverstone was not passing the bar. My GTX 760 just wanted too much power for the single daisy chained cable on the SX-600G. This would result in a system reboot when the graphics card was under load. When I first got the RM 750 I was worried because to avoid a cable mess, I had to use the daisy chained cable again. However, to my excitement, I have had no issues using the daisy chained cable on the RM 750. Corsair is known for high quality products and they absolutely did not let me down with this power supply. It is extremely silent. I keep my PC next to me on my desk and when I'm gaming I hear the fans of the graphics card over the fan on the PSU. At idle, the fan doesn't even spin, which was the main selling point for me. I like my silent computers. This also comes with a built-in basic version of Corsair Link. It's a handy piece of software that lets you monitor how much power your unit is pushing through and how much power you are actually pulling from the wall. Nice if you wanna keep tabs on your energy bills. It's not the full featured version, but it's still a nice feature to have. All in all, this power supply is just what I was looking for at a reasonable price. From a reputable brand like Corsair and with the 7-year warranty, this was a buy I could not pass up. If you're in the market for a silent build, but you need a fair amount of power to your system, do yourself a favor and pick up this unit. You will not regret it.

The Corsair RM Series is absolutely outstanding from its 80-Plus certification to its CONTINUOUS power ratings to its nearly silent operation plus it truly is fully modular. SILENT OPERATION The RM series doesn't turn on the fan as long as the computer is using less than 40% of the power output. This means, unless you're beating the heck out of your machine with Maya 3-D modeling or using the entire Adobe Creative Suite at the same time, you will hear NO NOISE from your power supply. I selected this power supply for a whisper-silent build using a NZXT H630 Case, Nexus fans, and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler along with SSDs, so I wanted quiet. The RM series does not disappoint. CONTINUOUS 80 PLUS POWER When you're selecting a power supply, it is absolutely CRITICAL that you select a supply with a CONTINUOUS power rating, not a PEAK power rating. Continuous means the power supply delivers its power rating the entire time it's on with no dipping. Peak power ratings mean that the power supply can hit that power rating briefly, but cannot sustain that power delivery. If you're talking about gaming video cards and/or running lots of drives, you want continuous power. 80-Plus certification means the power supply runs efficiently, doing the best it can to use as little power as necessary so your utility bills don't skyrocket. FULLY MODULAR I've been using "modular" power supplies for a few years now, and I've discovered that modular can mean different things to different manufacturers. Some manufacturers believe that modular means that the accessory plugs can be added and taken away, but your main cables such as mobo power and at least one 6-pin power rail are going to permanently attached to the power supply. Not so with the Corsair RM series. You can pick and choose exactly what you want to run off the power supply. Why is this a big benefit? For the majority of users, it's not. Sure, it's cool to fully customize your power supply, but if it's the only PSU in the box, you'll want to run the mobo power cables, for sure. Where fully modular PSUs are neat is in options: imagine you want to run a triple or quad SLI/Crossfire rig with four SSDs in RAID with four 3TB/4TB HDDs for data? You're going to need a TON of power, possibly more than a single power supply can deliver, but, you won't need two power supplies delivering power to the mobo. Now, you can run two PSUs with only one delivering power to the mobo while the other delivers power to all the HDDs, for example. OVERALL The Corsair RM Series is quite possibly the best solution on the market currently for power users who don't want to sacrifice silence for performance. The RM series truly gives the best of all worlds by offering quiet, consistent power at a truly reasonable price.

The is a brilliant power supply that is fully modular (yes including the 24-pin power connector) which was also designed with silent operation in mind. The fan doesn't even kick on until it's actually under a pretty descent load. The review I watched stated 60% load I think and goes up from there but it doesn't really matter in my case since I wouldn't be able to hear the silent fan over my case fans anyway. One important thing to note is that this PSU is slightly longer than the average PSU due to the fat that it is fully modular. In my case, the Corsair Carbide 500R, it was too long to be able to mount a 140mm fan on the bottom but just barely (and I do mean barely). So be sure you check the dimensions of your case because the 500R is a pretty roomy mid tower and smaller cases may prove to be more problematic with this PSU. If you're looking for a silent and stout PSU for your system, this is a pretty solid bet. If you have a little extra cash to spend though, The AXi series is a step up from these but I couldn't justify the cost for 80PLUS Platinum.

I bought this RM750W PSU in lieu of lower wattage version to qualify for prime and be delivered with the GTX 960 4G SSC GPU I needed for upgrade on my Dell XPS 8500. After purchase, saw many bad reviews of this psu with serial number starting 1341 and lower. The one I received was presumably manufactured in 2015, s/n 1505.... installed 3 days now with no detected problem. Both this PSU and aforementioned GTX 960 running silent with no fans spinning... this may change with boot up of Witcher 3 and warmer ambient temps ramping up where I live. 5 star review pending based on future performance. Right now, all is well. Of course, this could change in an instant. No guarantees in life. Again, installed in Dell XPS 8500 without removal of usb hubs or any OEM cabling.

I have owned this PSU for about 4 months now and will say that it has met expectations I had from previous reviewers. I'm running a 3rd Gen. i5 and a single GTX 660Ti and have had no issues with power supply. As a first builder, I wanted to start off with some fairly decent components to keep my system relevant for a time before adding and changing out too much. With this PSU and my fairly basic setup, I can go SLI with my current GPU or easily upgrade to the next gen. My tower sits right next to the monitor and so noise and heating were my most considered factors with this PSU. Little to no noise from the unit and the same in regards to heating. I appreciate the Gold certification as well. Everyone can appreciate efficiency, plus, no one wants to pay higher electricity bills if they don't have to. Bottom line: great PSU for the specified 750W range and kudos for little to no noise or heat!

So far (3 months owned) this PSU has been great. I wanted something silent that still had the brass to run my SLi setup and this is it. A couple key features that make this card great for me: -FULLY modular. Even the main MoBo power cable is removable though I'm not too sure why you'd remove it. -Lowprofile flat black cables. The flat cables allow for better cable management and airflow in your case. -Silent design. The fan will not run unless power consumption or heat goes over a threshold. Makes for a VERY silent PSU. -Gold Certified. Allows for cooler operation and thus quieter operation and saves sweet sweet money. I definitely recommend this PSU especially for those looking to reduce their computer's noise output.

First of all the PSU didn't show up DOA it worked just fine during normal use, however, it was one of the defective units (This pertains to the 750w and 850w models) which was very apparent when the fan didn't even spin up when my system was running full bore (FX 8350 overclocked to 4.4ish and GTX 770). This thing is nothing but a ticking time bomb, well at least the lot numbers under 1341 apparently. Furthermore, when I did use it I felt like my system was throttles back slightly because the performance coming from my system was less than stellar which I believe is from the droop on the +12v rail, this coming from a configuration that had the same overclocked FX 8350 coupled with a GTX 660. The deviation on the +12v rail was despicable as well. My CX500 maintained 12.055 while the RM750 barely maintained 11.9 while idle, under load it of course didn't look any better-which doesn't make much sense for a PSU that is supposed to surpass my systems power requirements. The cables were a pain to work with, the 24 pin and CPU cables being the biggest pain to work with because of the way there is multiple ribbons to one cable that twist every which way when trying to route the cables through grommets in the motherboard tray. The other cables are manageable but the 24 pin and CPU power (Which should be normal braided and possibly pre-attached to the power supply, because they are used all the time anyway...) are very difficult to work with and place a lot of stress on the motherboard headers as well. I expected much better from Corsair because my CX500m has been running like a champ for close to a year and I quite like my Corsair fans and H60 CPU cooler, however they cut corners big time with this particular series, or at least the 750w and 850w models. I cannot speak for the quality of the other wattages available (Which were produced by separate OEMs than the 750 and 850 watt models), however I would steer clear from the 750w and 850w models unless you receive a model from lot 1341 or above.

Super quiet! When you're just browsing the internet you can barely hear it. I played BF on ultra and you can hear the fans it a bit, but it's barely notable. Great quality with corsair as always.

Plenty of power for what I need, and so quiet, I have turn the monitor on to know that the computer is running. If you're looking for a quiet power supply, you don't need to look any further than this one.
